I heard a statistic that since the 50’s, teenage suicide has risen 5,000% in the US. Based on the three examples above, I would say it is safe to say that society is in the toilet…but, unfortunately, no one is reporting the undeniable and absolute proof of our country’s decline….I believe when one studies history, one of the similarities in declining civilizations was this same thing.

IIRC,they even consider a thermometer a medical device.DW has a CPAP machine,I have an oxygen machine plus a portable tank and a pacemaker.Apparently this was something asy enough for even the proles to understand.

I always said that barry had to be re elected so his true self would be exposed. If he had lost, he would have become a martyr like JFK, who really did not accomplish much except he looked dashing and gave a good speech. JFK is worshiped by catholics because he was a catholic.
Sounds exactly like BHO, which is why I pray he serves his whole term, and then one more in the Big House.

Well, I was all excited thinking about the repeal of the medical device tax, but apparently the thing that passed the Senate 79-20 was a non-binding amendment to a budget resolution, so the tax still exists.
Congress did repeal the requirement that businesses issue 1099’s to every single supplier instead of just to the independent contractors, as required before. (I would have had to send in to the IRS how much I bought at Home Depot in any given year, for example – ridiculous!) I was hoping this medical device tax would be the second component of Obamacare to go. It seems to be more symbolic than anything else. I read where even vet bills will be going up because of it – catheters and syringes and that sort of thing are all subject to the tax. I guess my daughter’s insulin pump and all the disposable parts will be a lot more expensive next year. Every 3 days she has to use a new pod with catheter, and a new syringe to fill the pod with insulin.
The real damage from that tax will come from lost opportunities in research and development. The tax is paid by the manufacturers on the gross revenue figure, regardless of profit or loss. So a company could have had sales of a million, but spent 1.5 million on a new project that they think will be a blockbuster down the road. They have to pay the tax on the million, even though the had a hefty net loss for the year. Tell me that wasn’t designed as a de facto death panel 🙂
