Under the new format I just invented,I will confine most of the political stuff to the header,so you can skip it and go straight to the silliness.I reserve my constitutional right to rant,and rant I shall.Kind of a right-wing Andy Rooney.Today’s rant is on the White House Correspondents Dinner,hereafter referred to as WHCD,since I don’t type worth a crap anyway.It’s a gathering of jaded assholes.
I’m hoping everybody had something better to do.The one thing I did notice was that Willie and Korie Robertson from Duck Dynasty were there as guests of CBN.I’m sure there were a few whispers about the hillbillies.Everybody had on their tuxes,Willie shows up in a suit with the shirt sleeves sticking out,the tie is too short,he has on camo shoes,his belly hangs over his belt,like mine,and he was the only one there with a headband.And I’ll bet he couldn’t care less what anybody thought of him.He’s got millions of dollars and a smokin’ hot wife.
Tom Brokaw didn’t attend this year.He felt having Lindsay Lohan there made it a freak show.He also warned that they looked like the chosen ones in Louis the XIV’s France.

And another thing that is disturbing is that the Gateway Pundit reported the drills lasted until 1:00 AM. Was that really necessary? If they had been college students whooping it up after 11:00 they could have been arrested for disturbing the peace. That is so rude and inconsiderate.

I read a book once called “The Millionaire Next Door.” It was all about how folks who make a lot of money on their own tend to stay in the same house, still buy their underwear at the drug store, and drive an old car. It was very interesting and it helped us make a plan with our business and our personal lives to accumulate some security and peace of mind. It mostly worked until 2008, but slowly is coming back. I draw the line at drug store underwear, though. I have to step it up to JC Penney’s, at least.

When the dole pays more than honest work … just sayin’. I had a tenant once who was on welfare while her kids were little and she was in college. Once she graduated and her kids aged out of day care, they expected her to get a job. She was pissed not so much about working, but that she didn’t make more working than she had on welfare.

Sad, but true. I have such a hard time thinking like ‘them’. I would take welfare on a short term basis, if absolutely necessary, but would be working as hard as I could to get back to self-sufficiency as soon as possible. Freeloading for the long term is just unimaginable!

I bet there are some Christian Egyptians who would go make pizza in Italy at the drop of a hat. My next door neighbor is a Coptic Christian from Egypt, who will become a US citizen as soon as the State Dept. can get someone to translate his Arabic birth certificate. All of his family is still in Cairo and they are afraid to step foot outdoors.

I don’t blame them — I wouldn’t want to be a Christian in Egypt or any other majority-Muslim country. It’s getting hard enough to be one here in the good old U.S., with the left diligently chipping away at our first amendment rights.
