So much to post,so little space.
So,Barry helped overthrow Egypt’s Hosni Mubarak so his Muslim Brotherhood homey,Mo Morsi, could take over.Turned out to be far worse than Mubarak was.Now the army has stepped in and enacted what could be considered a military coup d’état.They have taken over the state-run TV and will put a ruling council in place until they can hold another election.Meanwhile both the army and Morsi say they will defend what they think is theirs with their blood….which is what separates them from the weenies in our democrat party.A hangnail would put them in intensive care.They’ve got healthcare coverage,right?
Speaking of which,I believe Valerie ‘Rasputin’ Jarrett convinced Barry that if he didn’t delay the employer mandate until 2015,their party would get pummeled next year.The fact he cannot mandatorily change laws already in force means little seeing as how he’s always gotten away with it.The individual mandate remains in effect.I’ve been waiting since April for approval of my Medicaid application and haven’t heard a word.If it does not get approved,we will owe $700 each as penalty for having no insurance.That’s over a month of my social security.I can’t afford it,so they’ll take it out of my benefits and I’ll still need to get a policy somehow that’s approved.I heard on the radio a lot of employers are getting around the mandate by offering a medical plan that covers almost nothing and has a deductible in the thousands.The employee doesn’t have to take it,as long as they offer it,they’ve fulfilled their obligation.
If anybody in DC has come across our little garden,I’m in deep doo-doo anyway,since suffering in silence is not exactly one of my strong suits.
The kids are all busy tomorrow,so I plan to burn the flesh of some dead animal to celebrate the holiday.I may try to put together a patriotic post for anybody who may stop by for a few minutes.

You are so right about the trades. One of the many reasons that I was so hoping that Palin would run in 2012 was because Todd took up industrial arts education as his “project” as First Dude of Alaska. If nothing more came of it than exposure to the idea on the campaign trail that would be a good thing. A good, honest tradesman can earn a good living and provide a nice life for his/her family if the bankers will just stay out of the way.

The regulators need to stay out of the way too. A guy has to follow so many “safety” codes to change a wall socket, a $2 part becomes a $200 project. It is insane.
And then there is the whole union issue.
Do you know that if you have a booth at a trade show at McCormack Place in Chicago, you are not allowed to move in your own displays or plug in your own appliance in a booth you paid for? You must have a union guy do it! No wonder all the trade shows went to Vegas.

A couple years ago, my brother-in-law, a retired Marine, and current Air Force reservist with two tours of duty under his belt (Iraq), was shot in the back while riding his bike home from the 4th of July fireworks with his fiancée. He survived and recovered 100%, but that incident has made us all leery of our local 4th of July celebrations. Too many feral people around here who see the constant fireworks explosions as a good opportunity to fire a few rounds into a crowd.

I’m about to head off for my annual beach month with my mother and her sibs. My mother is the youngest at 85 and it goes on up to 92! It can be fun, but ….you can imagine.
