The Spite House decided a government shut-down meant that extra cops and resources needed to be allocated to Barry-cade the open-air monuments in DC lest expected World War II and Vietnam War Honor Flight veterans get in and … you know … look at them, have pics taken, lay a wreath or two.
But just so we are all Very Clear that Øbama Democrats believe they can shove their thumbs in our eyes whenever and wherever they choose, they’ve given the go-ahead to a planned protest called “Camino Americano: March for Immigration Reform” on the otherwise Barry-caded National Mall.
The event is hosted by several immigration activist groups, plus the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and the AFL-CIO, all big contributors to Democrat war chests. About 30 members of Congress are expected to attend the rally, including House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Sen. Robert Menendez, D-N.J.
This is impossible to justify in terms of any “government shutdown.” However, if you assume that Obama and the Democrats regard illegal aliens as their constituents and WWII vets as NOT their constituents, then it makes a kind of sick sense. Emphasis on SICK.

This protest was not about the federal shut down, but about a NYC curfew on all public parks, something I think was probably originally intended to stop criminals from maintaining the parks as their personal territory.

Here is something that I wish some journalist with the connections to actually discover the answer would look into: When were those “Shutdown” signs requisitioned and made? I saw (somewhere?) a comment by a 40 year govt. employee who said it would take months to get the paper work done to spend the money to have the signs made, and then some time to have them made. We used to do a lot of work at Langley Field and Fort Lee here in Virginia and I can vouch for that process. It is one of the reasons that I don’t even try to go for US govt. contracts anymore. It is too much of a headache to actually get the work done. A Congressman might have the connections to find this out, too. Because those signs were up almost immediately – I have never seen the US govt. move with anything less than glacier speed unless they are trying to pass a controversial bill to limit the liberty of the citizens.
The implication, of course, is that the shutdown was planned months in advance. Because seriously, I can sort of go along with maybe buying some antibiotics or something like that in anticipation of a possibility of an epidemic. But spending money on shutdown signs when the possibility is so remote? Who signed off on that? That is what I am wondering.
