Political Party Control in D.C.

I just updated my graphics file showing which party had dominance during which sessions of Congress.

114th congress - party control

My Facebook album of History of Political Party Control graphics:

It’s a handy shortcut for arguing facts with Leftists who like to give Clinton credit for Republican accomplishments and blame Bush for Democrat atrocities.  Laws have to be passed by THREE bodies — the House, the Senate, and the President.  Whichever party dominates TWO (or three) of these is responsible for policy and its consequences.

I hope these women win their lawsuit!

IMHO, this is sexual abuse.

President Obama has called Valencia College a ‘national model for women.’ But now the school has been hit with a federal lawsuit brought by two students that has put this Orlando, Florida, college under the microscope. In a lawsuit against Valencia College, two female students are alleging that invasive, humiliating and sometimes painful genital examinations were made mandatory in a sonography class. UPI writes:

“Valencia positioned these transvaginal probes as voluntary, but its actual policy and practice was that they were not,” according to the lawsuit, which also said college staff told students “they could find another school if they did not wish to be probed” after students complained.

The lawsuit provided a diagram of the procedure: Transvaginal probe

The suit alleges that threats were made of “academic penalties” and future employment opportunity “blacklisting” over lack of “volunteering.” This is in addition to inappropriate comments made by college staff during the probing, according to My Fox Tampa Bay. NBC-2 details the comments:

“Defendant Ball’s comments can only be described as bizarre during some of these forced probing sessions,” the lawsuit states.

“She allegedly approached one student … during a probing session and stated (she) was ‘sexy’ and should be an ‘escort girl’ (prostitute).”

My Fox Tampa Bay notes that “anatomically correct simulators” were available for the class to use, as well as access to real patients at hospitals during clinical practice.

God’s love is bigger!

Local businesses paid for the cleaning supplies. Others provided food for the volunteers. The female soldier is setting aside cash gifts for a reward to capture the vandal and donations to a charity that helps women veterans @ https://www.facebook.com/GraceAfterFire.

EVEN THE SMALL THINGS ARE PRECIOUS

We met my uncles and two of my cousins for our regular Thursday morning breakfast get-together. It’s one thing I can look forward to every week that brings me great joy. As we were leaving this morning, my cousin said she had granny’s old jewelry box with her, and did I want it back? I said ‘sure’ and so she got it out of her car and gave it to me. I remember it sitting on granny’s bedroom dresser for years. There was some jewelry left in it. Nothing of real value, but there was a rhinestone pin in the shape of a diamond she used to wear when she got dressed up to go out with Grampa. It brought back a flood of memories that had been dormant for many decades. She wore it to our church’s Christmas services and even wore it the day we buried the love of her life in 1972. After I fix a couple drawer pulls I plan to give it to my daughter to hand down to my granddaughter. I’m on the fence whether to keep the pin or give it to her, hoping she might cherish it as much as I do. It has absolutely no value money-wise, but it is priceless to me.

tee.

#DestroyAmerica

#BlackLivesMatter was supposedly a grassroots thing. Uh, no. A new hashtag … #CutTheCheck … has revealed it was actually fueled by PAID protesters who are mad because Missourians Organizing for Reform and Empowerment (MORE) hasn’t ponied up with the promised payola.

Ferguson signs

Missourians Organizing for Reform and Empowerment (MORE) used to be the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) in Missouri. ACORN, of course, failed under the withering gaze of Project Veritas’ truth cameras; but, like the slugs they are, they moved to a new slimey rock. They and a number of other groups like them are raking in millions in donations from George Soros and his ilk.

#BlackLivesMatter? Pshaw. More like #DestroyAmerica.

First Amendment Win For Pro-Lifer!

2015_05 19 ABORTION NAACP loses

Before the decision, Bomberger said, “The NAACP is suing me—a black man—for exercising my Constitutionally-guaranteed right to free speech. … But the NAACP hasn’t sued a wealthy broadcaster [Rush Limbaugh], with an audience of millions, for parodying them every time he refers to them. I’m honored they feel threatened by a small, life-affirming organization’s illuminating words.”

Bomberger, co-founder of the Radiance Foundation @ http://www.TooManyAborted.com, says his group will continue its campaign to expose failed leadership in the black community on the issue of abortion.

Michelle Obama: Imposing her personal pathology on the nation

“Mrs. Obama uses her private feelings as evidence of a certain public reality: Because she feels discriminated against, she is in fact being discriminated against. … Just as the elevation of public reason over private feeling always threatens to bury the individual, so the elevation of private experience above disputation threatens to impose upon the community the pathologies of an individual, or group.” – Ian Tuttle

Microaggressions by Terrell

I am reminded of a discussion I had once with an aggrieved teen-ager who announced to me that everybody at school hated her. (For the record, this girl was not one of my daughters.)

I asked her for the specific reason she had come to this conclusion. It turned out that one person had said something mean to her in school that day.

Now, I don’t know if this one person had actually been mean to her. I’ve had many occasions to talk through hurt feelings I’ve experienced or caused, only to find that nothing bad was intended at all.

But even if the other person had been mean on purpose, it did not follow that “everybody at school” felt the same way.

Nor does it follow that Michelle Obama’s personal pathology is proof that we live in AmeriKKKa.  You gotta wonder if she’s NOTICED that she’s the wife of the President?!  Sheesh.
