So ridiculous, and yet so unsurprising

My pick of tweets and comments at Twitchy:

  • Who’s more dumb, Sheila Jackson Lee or the people who keep voting her into office?
  • Having once lived in her district, I can confidently say “yes.”
  • Find that U.S. flag on Mars yet, Sheila?
  • I wasn’t surprised that Sheila Jackson Lee thinks the Constitution is over 400 yrs old. I was surprised she knew we had a constitution.
  • Now imagine if Sarah Palin had said the Constitution is 400 years old.
  • Or that we had “two Vietnams, North and South.”

  • 400 years……..??? Isn’t that the last time Guam capsized….?????
  • Scary isn’t it that these people think they’re better than us.

More “wisdom” from the Congresswoman in the Black Skin:

“I stand here as a freed slave because this Congress came together.” Sheila Jackson Lee, February 13, 2013

“Let us vote to provide for unemployment insurance for working men and women so that faces across America will not have the tear of desperation on their faces.” Sheila Jackson Lee, December 12, 2013

“Don’t condemn the gangbangers, they’ve got guns that are trafficked, that are not enforced, that are straw purchased and they come into places even that have strong gun laws. Why? Because we don’t have sensible gun legislation.” Sheila Jackson Lee, April 9, 2013

Brazile encourages dictatorship, plays hate card – UPDATED

2014_02 17 Brazile tweets encouragement

Will Presidents Day 2015 be when we all line up to take our Oath of Loyalty to President for Life Obama?

Various Tweeters (VT) engaged Donna Brazile (DB) in an interesting discussion:

  • DB – @BarackObama. Enjoy #PresidentsDay. With Congress on recess, this is action day! Let’s move America forward.
  • VT – @donnabrazile Well, I guess it’s good news that the pretense is over.
  • DB – President Obama is not going to be able to get this Congress to do things, but then nobody can get this Congress to do anything.
  • VT – @donnabrazile That full Democrat Congress in 2009?
  • DB – Even during Obama’s first term, Mitch McConnell said that thwarting him was their biggest political priority. #PresidentsDay of action.
  • VT – @donnabrazile you tweet as if no one remembers the Bush years or no on can use google to refute your ridiculous assertions
  • DB – This Congress had duck on the menu from the very beginning.
  • VT – @donnabrazile America, in 2012, voted for gridlock. If voters wanted Obama to have a blank check, they’d have given Dems back the House.
  • DB – Hateful tweets, incivility, rudeness or simple name calling will never get America moving forward. Hate is not a winning political strategy.
  • VT – @donnabrazile This level of sycophancy for the President is really disturbing.
  • DB – “This level of sycophancy for the President is really disturbing.” Par for the course.
  • VT – @donnabrazile Pointing out a disturbingly anti-democratic tweet is not “hate,” Donna. Try being an adult; it’s not as scary as it sounds.
  • DB – Here’s 1 more: some folks have tried to make President Obama a lame duck since his 1st inauguration. He hasn’t quacked yet.
  • VT – @donnabrazile So basically you’re saying he’s a failure of a leader? I agree.True leaders, rise above and accomplish great things.Not Obama

Comments at Twitchy:

  • Liberal rule #3, when logic and reason show your position as weak and indefensible, shut down the debate by playing the hate card.
  • “Hate is not a winning political strategy.” . . . how about ‘revenge’ – or ‘payback’?
  • Scratch a lefty and find a totalitarian. But call them on it and they whine about civility.

In 2003, Hillary Clinton screeched, “I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you’re not patriotic. We should stand up and say we are Americans and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration.”

Just saw this on Angelaisms twitter feed and had to add it here:

Rising to the level of a dictatorship

You need to listen to this.

How far will his lawlessness go? Obama closed the White House to anyone but his own visitors a long time ago and he seems to be made of Teflon whenever it comes to any of dozens, yes, DOZENS, of scandals that make Nixon look like a Boy Scout.

Harry Reid totally ignores any bill the House passed that Obama doesn’t want to come to a vote. Moderate Republicans keep bending over and doing whatever Obamacrats want while Conservatives and Tea Partiers are blamed unjustly and targeted illegally.

I will be totally unsurprised if the 2016 election is canceled and Obama is declared President for life. It happened in Germany. It happened in Cuba. It happened in Venezuela. Given what we’ve seen happen already, I can’t find any reason to suppose it can’t or won’t happen here.

One correction to Judge Jeanine … Barack Obama is not a lawyer. He went to law school; he USED to be a lawyer. But he is not licensed to practice anywhere NOW. Ergo, he is not a lawyer.

And while he claims to have been a “constitutional law professor”, he doesn’t appear to have ever taught actual Constitutional Law. What he did teach (and this is according to a friendly article in the New York Times) were three courses about race, racism and … oh right … more racism.

OBAMACARE Another Day Another Delay

February 10, 2014: King Barack the Brown stroked with His Majestic Pen and created another Congress-Free Delay in His Wondrous Settled Law of Obama Cares.

2014_02 Latest ObamaCare delay

  • Tweet: If President Obama likes his health care law, why won’t he keep it?
  • Tweet: I love that part of the Constitution that says that all controversial legislation should, in perpetuity, be timed around elections.
  • Tweet: When you think about it, Obama is just liberating the executive branch from the tyranny of Constitution-lock.
  • Tweet: I remember when wanting to delay O’care meant you were a racist anarchist. Now it means you’re the president. That’s progress, I guess.

No, it’s NOT just like the Emancipation Proclamation

BHO shredding Constitution

Fantastic essay by my friend Angelaisms about how Obama’s executive orders are nothing like Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation. As per usual, Angela makes the foggy clear and blows the Left’s fave argument Out Of The Water.

DEFinitely worth your time. If you’re in convos with Obama apologists, you might want to memorize the key points, bookmark the URL and carry a couple print-outs to hand to the IRL peeps who give you the “It’s no different than the Emancipation Proclamation” line in the grocery line.

Wave buh-bye to the nice Constitution, kids.

Charles Krauthammer

“Essentially, [President Obama] passed a law by executive order that the Congress had rejected – wouldn’t pass. That is unbelievably unconstitutional. It’s as if a Republican ran and said ‘I don’t like the capital gains tax.’ Congress rejects an abolition of that tax, and then he orders the IRS not to collect it. People would be up in arms and would be impeaching.”

2013_10 18 BHO No need for Congress

2014_01 BHO's 3 branches of government

Peggy Noonan

“These things have the effect of breaking bonds of trust between government and the people. They make citizens see Washington as an alien and hostile power. Washington sees the disaffection. They read the polls, they know. They call it rage. But it feels more like grief. Like the loss of something you never thought you’d lose, your sense of your country and your place in it, your rights in it.”

It’s not about the climate

Constitution not list of suggestions

When Congress refused to pass cap-and-trade legislation, the Obama administration directed his agencies to find ways to curb the country’s carbon dioxide output and commit to reducing GHG emissions without legislative approval.

For example, the Environmental Protection Agency is issuing new regulations on power plants that amount to cap-and-trade, just without that pesky “of the people, by the people, for the people” thing.

Climate graph accepted by everyone BEFORE AGW politics happened

These rules won’t make a damn bit of difference to global temperatures, which don’t need our help anyway, because we aren’t hurting them.

What these rules will do is precisely what they are actually intended to do, which is drive up energy prices and make Americans poorer.

Why would they want that? Simple. Prosperous people won’t bow to Communism.

“If you like your privacy, you can keep it.”

2014_01 17 Rand Paul's tweet

The Liar-in-Chief is at it again. During President Obama’s NSA speech, he justified many of the government’s spying programs that as a candidate for president, he swore he would never, ever use.

Senator Obama in August 2007 [1:06]

  • “No more ignoring the law when it is inconvenient. The law is not subject to the whims of stubborn rulers.”
  • “This administration acts like violating civil liberties is a way to enhance security. It is not.”

Senator Obama in 2007 [:31]

  • He says his administration would respect the law, not abuse Executive Privilege
