On the same day the high court agreed to review the Masterpiece case, an attorney named Autumn Scardina called Phillips’ shop and asked him to create a cake celebrating a sex transition. Phillips declined to create the cake, given his religious conviction that sex is immutable, while offering to sell the caller other pre-made baked goods.

Boy Scouts to provide condoms at upcoming World Jamboree
The 2019 World Scout Jamboree will be held in West Virginia from July 21 to Aug. 1. The theme is “Unlock a New World.”
AP has reported that the Boy Scouts have been for boys and young men only for more than 100 years.
But in early May, a new name was announced to reflect the decision to admit girls: Scouts BSA. The change will become effective in February 2019.
The guidelines require that host organizations, who in this case include the former Boy Scouts of America (now Scouts BSA), “… ensure that condoms are readily and easily accessible for all participants and IST [staff].”

Schumer slammed for citing skin color in vote against white judicial nominee
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer faced a stern rebuke from congressional colleagues for citing skin color in voting against a white federal judge nominee earlier this week.
Schumer, D-N.Y., said on the Senate floor Wednesday that the nomination of Marvin Quattlebaum, a white lawyer who is a partner at Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough in Greenville, S.C., “speaks to the overall lack of diversity in President Trump’s selections for the federal judiciary.”

San Diego State University offering course called ‘Trump: Impeachment, Removal, or Conviction?’
A description of the course says the focus will be on the two constitutional grounds for removing a president from office: “Impeachment and removal (25th Amendment),” KUSI News reported.
It will include lessons on possible charges of the independent counsel and the powers of the president. Students in the class will also learn about “presidential immunity from indictment, and grounds for impeachment, removal, or indictment.”

Texans break early voting record after more Dems get involved

According to data posted on Saturday by the Texas secretary of state’s office, 885,574 Texans voted in the 11 days of early voting that ended Friday, the Austin American-Statesman reported.
That figure far surpasses the 592,153 Texans who voted early in 2014.
Early voting among Democrats surged this year, the Statesman reported. 465,245 Democrats cast their ballots early, compared to 420,329 Republicans. That represents a significant change from 2014, when only 226,730 Democrats voted early, compared to 65,423 Republicans.

The Left defends gangstas and “transgressive” art and antifa thugs.
But when the shooting starts, they blame guns.
The Left sneers at feminine modesty and masculine protectiveness and all social restrictions on sex.
But when sexual harassment, abuse, and rape rise to the surface, they blame “toxic manhood.”
The Left wants us to reel in shock that Donald Trump used to be a playboy who chased women.
But they defended the infidelities and possible rapes committed by Governor, then-President Bill Clinton.
Perhaps they should have listened to the Catholic apologist G.K. Chesterton, who wrote about the difference between reforming society and deforming it — a passage that was neatly paraphrased by John F. Kennedy:
The Left wants to legitimize disrespect for the flag and for Christianity. They want to ignore the rule of law at the border and silence protests against Islamic ideas that are antithetical to every good thing the West stands for.
They should look to Europe where all these things have been accomplished.
- When European women are molested in the public square, European leaders advise them to behave more modestly lest immigrants get the wrong idea.
- When Islamic knives come out and Islamic bombs go off, European police rush to harass those who question the dictates of the Koran.
The degradation of our culture is almost entirely a leftist achievement. Over the last fifty years, it’s the Left that has assaulted every moral norm and disdained every religious and cultural restraint.
They own the whirlwind. If they don’t like the results and want someone or something to blame, they should look in a mirror.

On hearing that last word, Trudeau recoiled like he’d been shot by a crossbow and instantly raised his left arm in indignant angst.

The women in the audience mostly erupted with cheers and applause.
The men in the audience mostly just sat silently, looking bemused.

How many?
A survey that asked, “Have you ever been a member of the armed forces?” received 6,546 “valid responses.” From that, the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force and the National Center for Transgender Equality inexplicably concluded that “approximately 15,500 transgender individuals are serving on active duty or in the Guard or Reserve forces.” IOW, 1.2 percent.
Another study, one that was sponsored by the military, estimated that “the number of transgender individuals currently serving in the active component of the U.S. military at between 1,320 and 6,630 out of a total of about 1.3 million service members.” IOW, between 0.1 and 0.5 percent.
The first number makes no sense, given that the estimated trans population in America is only around 0.3 percent.
I’m inclined to believe in the lowest end of the estimates. For one thing, the highest figure for active duty was inappropriately extrapolated from a sample that included any past service. For another, I just find it difficult to believe that the average transsexual would want the military life.
