Dems lie about American income levels

Democrats want you to believe that the rich and the poor are static classes. Maybe in other countries this is true. Here, it’s not even close.

The statistics the Dems use are taken from static data sets that only show how many Americans are in each bracket at a given time. The CBO report I used for the graphic is based on IRS data that tracks income for specific individuals and households over time.

Yes, there are individual Americans who are born, live and die either very rich or very poor. But they are the exception. Most Americans follow a predictable curve over their lives.

We start out as students with little or no income. But once we start working, our incomes go up. Over time, as we acquire more skills and experience, we move from entry-level to high paid jobs. Our incomes generally peak just before retirement, after which they drop again.

More people make it to the top 20% than stay stuck in the bottom 20%. And most people (like Barack Obama) who make it into the top 1% are only there for a year or so.

Barely a blip UPDATED

July 29, 2012: DNC Chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz on “Face the Nation” (CBS)

After Dismal GDP Report, DNC Chair Says Things Are Turning Around [:40]

Let’s just put two things she says in context.

About the economy having contracted just before Obama took office … that contraction happened two years after DEMOCRATS took over majority control in Washington, during the two year period when Obama was in the Senate.

As for the “twelfth straight quarter of growth”, may I just say Big Freakin’ Whoop about that? She’s talking about increases in the GDP that are so small, they barely register on the only graph I really understand and care about, which is this one showing what percentage of Americans have JOBS.

Obama holds second Cabinet meeting of 2012

The purpose of the Cabinet is both to advise the President and to rein in any attempts by him to abuse his power. Reagan and George W. Bush each met with their Cabinets 36 times in their first year alone.

Obama has convened his Cabinet only twice in the past 8 months. He has met individually with his Secretaries of Defense (18), Treasury (15), and State (14), plus one meeting each with Agriculture and Veterans Affairs. But he has not sat down with the other ten at all.

Some of these omissions are particularly puzzling.

How could he not meet with Attorney General Eric H. Holder even once during all that time Congress had Holder on the hot seat, then voted to hold him in contempt? And where did he get the nerve to grant Holder “executive privilege” when they hadn’t even talked?

Gas prices are still killing us all, at the pumps and in higher prices for everything that gets shipped anywhere, which is pretty much everything. Yet Obama never once met with his Secretary of Energy.

He also never met with his Secretaries of Commerce or Labor, despite record-high unemployment and record-low economic growth.

And did someone call off that terrorist threat thing? Obama never met with his Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano.

He also never met with Kathleen Sebelius, his Secretary of Health and Human Services and the author of the HHS mandate that has led to dozens of lawsuits and a revolt among formerly loyal-to-Democrats Catholics.

It’s easy to see where his priorities lie.

The MORAL case for Free Enterprise

The Moral Case for Free Enterprise [7:57]

This excellent video would be a good choice for your liberal, Democrat-voting Christians, people who truly care about the poor, but have been suckered into believing that Obama’s socialism is more fair and better for the poor than Romney’s free enterprise.

Brooks wrote The Road to Freedom: How to Win the Fight for Free Enterprise (2012) and The Battle: How the Fight between Free Enterprise and Big Government Will Shape America’s Future (2010) which I have not read.

He also wrote one of my all-time favorite books, Who Really Cares: The Surprising Truth About Compassionate Conservatism (2007). This one cured me FOREVER of the Democrats’ lies about fairness and free enterprise.

Brooks used to be a typical liberal university professor. His own research forced him to change sides. In this video, he says, “We have to see that we’re not in an economic battle for the future of America. We’re in a moral battle.” ITA.

Polar opposites

Voters consistently poll that the economy is our #1 concern. This is not an election where “there’s not a dime’s worth of difference” between the two candidates. They are polar opposites. Romney is a free market capitalist. Obama is a big government socialist.

In these video clips, the two presidential candidates explain their economic philosophies very simply and succinctly.

The beatings will continue

Chrissy’s Site Bites @ http://news.webshots.com/photo/2081349590056011884DxOLFM

President Obama’s July 13th speech in Roanoke, Virginia, lasted 42 minutes and the part of the speech where President Obama discussed small businesses and entrepreneurs can be found at 33:32, and lasts about a minute.

If you watch a video of that part of the speech without sound, the first thing you notice is that there is no smile, only a determined, forced smile from time to time.

President Obama looks angry, as if he is barely containing his foul tempter about the subject, even though he is speaking to a bunch of adoring fans.

And a real transcript of that part of the speech would really read like this:

PRESIDENT OBAMA: And you know there are a lot of wealthy, successful Americans who agree with me — because they want to give something back.

They know they didn’t — if, if (stammer) you’ve been successful, you don’t, you didn’t get there on your own. (Pause)

AUDIENCE: No! That’s right! That’s right! That’s right!

PRESIDENT OBAMA: You, you didn’t get there on your own. I’m always struck by people who think, ‘well, it must be because I was, just so smart.’ There are a lot of smart people out there.

AUDIENCE: Yes…

PRESIDENT OBAMA: ‘It must be because I worked harder than everybody else.’ Let me tell you something — there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there. (Pause)

AUDIENCE: YES! YES! (clapping)

PRESIDENT OBAMA: If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help.

AUDIENCE: YES!

PRESIDENT OBAMA: There was a great teacher somewhere in your life.

AUDIENCE: YES!

PRESIDENT OBAMA: Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business — that (stammer) — you didn’t build that.

AUDIENCE: That’s right…

PRESIDENT OBAMA: Somebody else made that happen.

AUDIENCE: Yes…

President Obama is mocking a whole group of Americans, small business people and entrepreneurs. He essentially says that the people who do most of the hiring, and whose companies create most of the new, innovative products in this country are idiots worthy of presidential ridicule. And his Leftie audience of “Tolerant” supporters eats it up.

Obama’s upside down economy

Mitt Responds To Obama: “Liberal Policies Don’t Make Good Jobs!” [7:16]

Good speech, easy to understand. Obama talks and talks about “fairness” and wants to focus on making us hate the rich. But I do not care how rich the rich are! I do care about how poor the poor are. So did the Founders.

What the wealthy do with their dough is between them and God, not between them and Barack Obama. His economic policies have hurt the middle class and the poor the most. The wealthy can handle a dip in income, right? Not so much those of us who live near the edge.

Even those who have a nest egg can’t go on for long using it to pay for the basics. Those who live on the raggedly edge of an old shoe string, paycheck to paycheck, scraping to make the rent every month, those people cannot handle ANY dip.

According to God, coveting is akin to murder! It makes sense, since envy is a soul killer and God cares way more about our eternal souls than about our temporal bodies. So should we.

“Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.” Matthew 10:28 (NIV)
