Au Revoir, Belle France

Following in a centuries-old tradition the French people meekly surrendered without the enemy within firing a shot. Emmanuel Macron captured 65% of the vote to defeat Marine Le Pen, the populist candidate who rejected the EU hierarchy in favor of self-rule and wanted to stop the flood of Muslim maggots that have so infested the country they will be the dominant force in short order. Macron tallied 20 million votes to LePen’s 11 million, with 12 million abstaining from voting at all. If your children are studying French in school, they’d be better served learning Arabic.

Paris Main Mosque Says Macron Election Gives Hope To French Muslims
Paris’ main Mosque said on Sunday that the election of centrist Emmanuel Macron as France’s next president over far-right leader Marine Le Pen was a sign of reconciliation between French religions.
“It is a clear sign of hope to French Muslims that they can live in harmony and respect of French values”, La Grande Mosquée de Paris said in a statement.

Macron wins French presidency, to European allies’ relief
Emmanuel Macron was elected French president on Sunday with a business-friendly vision of European integration, defeating Marine Le Pen, a far-right nationalist who threatened to take France out of the European Union.
The centrist’s emphatic victory, which also smashed the dominance of France’s mainstream parties, will bring huge relief to European allies who had feared another populist upheaval to follow Britain’s vote to quit the EU and Donald Trump’s election as U.S. president.

With Le Pen defeat, Europe’s far-right surge stalls
The anti-E.U. French leader Marine Le Pen’s larger-than-expected defeat Sunday in her nation’s presidential election was a crushing reality check for the far-right forces who seek to overthrow Europe: Despite the victories for Brexit and Donald Trump, they are likely to be shut out of power for years.

DID YOU NOTICE THE COMMON DENOMINATOR THERE? EVERY NEWS OUTLET LABELED LEPEN AS “FAR-RIGHT” WHILE MACRON WAS THE CENTRIST.
The truth is Macron is nothing more than a puppet with Europe’s worst enemy, Angela Merkel, leading them happily down the path to their own destruction at the hands of 7th century savages who must be amazed how easy it’s been to infiltrate and normalize their murdering, raping habits.

PARIS SEALS THEIR FATE WHILE THE REST OF THE COUNTRY CRINGES. LIKE 90% OF CHICAGO GOING DEMOCRAT AND EVERY OTHER COUNTY IN THE STATE VOTING REPUBLICAN… THIS IS A REALITY I LIVE WITH.

On Sunday Paris voters chose the moderate status-quo candidate Emmanuel Macron over the fierce defender of France Marine Le Pen.
Macron won 90% of the vote in Paris.

KATIE HOPKINS: Macron may have won by a landslide but in the resigned Paris I visited last night it didn’t feel like many people were celebrating a triumph for the globalists

MACRON, 39, MARRIED HIS DRAMA TEACHER, BRIGETTE, 64.
SHEEP LED TO SLAUGHTER HAVING NO IDEA WHAT THEY’VE DONE
I have never known such superficiality. This politics is skin deep. Scratch the surface and this lot would bleed if they thought it would get them attention.
I reflected on the mass protests in Venezuela, the ferocity of the Arab Spring, the defiance of the Umbrella Movement in Hong Kong. And wished these people shared such passion.
The division between Paris and the rest of France is as searing as London and the rest of the UK. And the West coast liberals versus real America.
The rest of France voted very differently to Paris. They live with the daily reality of the decisions made by wealthy politicians.
Macron’s biggest rivals are a right-wing woman with a solid core of 11 million ardent supporters and over 16 million people who believe in democracy but would rather not vote at all than give Macron a mandate to lead.
The perfect puppet on stage, has Merkel as his master. And the brand of EM – Emmanuel Macron / En Marche is an illusion, just like the crowd conjured up to dance for the watching world.

Still Crazy After All These Years

Everything you always wanted to know (or didn’t) about the current activities the the democrats’ favorite loser.

Gingrich: Hillary’s New Claims Are ‘Like Watching a Car Wreck in Slow Motion’
Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) said watching Hillary Clinton explain her election loss to President Trump was “like watching a car wreck in slow motion.”
Clinton spoke with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour today and initially said she took “full responsibility” for the loss.
But, later in the discussion, Clinton said FBI Director Jim Comey’s October letter and “Russian WikiLeaks” were aggravating factors in her loss.

Clinton also said that she’d prefer that Trump tweet about her instead of foreign affairs.
“I’m happy to be the diversion,” she said. “We’ve got lots of other things to worry about. He should worry less about the election — and my winning the popular vote — than doing some other things that would be important for the country.”

Hillary Falsely Claims Debate Moderators Didn’t Ask Her About Creating More Jobs

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton asserted that none of the debate moderators asked her how she was going to create more jobs when in reality that was the very first question asked to her during the first presidential debate.
Clinton made the statement Tuesday afternoon during her first one-on-one interview with a national news outlet since her failed 2016 presidential bid, speaking to CNN’s Christiane Amanpour in New York.

Hillary Clinton Invokes Dystopian Future Where Women Have No Rights In Planned Parenthood Speech
“In ‘The Handmaid’s Tale,’ women’s rights are gradually, slowly, stripped away,” Clinton continued, during a 17-minute speech that led to two standing ovations. “As one character says, ‘We didn’t look up from our phones until it was too late.’ It’s not too late for us. We have to encourage the millions of women and men to keep fighting.”
Clinton, who has made a series of public appearances in recent weeks, once again brought up winning the popular vote — with roughly 66 million ballots — in the election. She spoke about the causes that still mattered to her, as well as her travels abroad, where she witnessed botched illegal abortions.

FLYNN: Hillary Clinton’s Election Postmortem Shows Why They Don’t Let Corpses Perform Their Own Autopsies
On Tuesday Hillary Clinton attempted to explain why she lost on an earlier Tuesday. Instead, she just showed why she is a loser.
You see, that mix of Nurse Ratched’s personality, Mr. Burnes’ vigor, and Baron Munchausen’s honesty really makes for a winning combination. If only J. Edgar Hoover’s successor refrained from scaring people about emails she deleted and foreigners didn’t reveal how she cheated in primary presidential debates, then she’d be flying on Donald Trump’s plane now.

Clinton Whines: Putin Interfered In Election To Hurt Me…
Hillary Clinton, the 2016 Democratic nominee for president, accused Donald Trump’s campaign of coordinating “with the goals of” Russian President Vladimir Putin during the presidential election.
In an onstage interview Tuesday with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour, Clinton said of Putin: “Well, he certainly interfered in our election and it was clear he interfered to hurt me and helped my opponent.”

A True Gentleman

Hillary is still bitching about losing.  The richest bit is where she blames “unfair treatment by the media.”

Yeah, right.

Media Research Center analysts evaluated biased statements made about the two candidates by network reporters and found:

Clinton: 184 opinionated statements = 39% positive vs. 79% negative.
Trump:  623 opinionated statements =  9% positive vs. 90% negative.

2017_05 02 Hillary still whining
It’s truly amazing to compare Hillary’s post-election behavior with the previous presidential loser, Mitt Romney.

Although he was savaged by the press, he never blamed anyone for his loss.  He just told the country to unite and went back to his life.

The Georgia Ballot

The run-off will be between Democrat Ossoff (48.1%) and Republican Handel (19.8%).

I was puzzled by this, since the district is said to be traditionally Republican.  I looked up the ballot and found there were 18 people running for that seat in Georgia yesterday.  More than half (11) were Republicans.  Five were Democrats and two were Independents.

This is the top of the ballot results.  The rest of the contenders got 0.3% or less.

2017_04 18 Georgia ballot

  • The Republican votes add up to 51%.
  • The Democrat and Independent votes add up to 49%.

Democrats are hopeful about the run-off, but it’s hardly the shoo-in one might think from the Ossoff vs. Handel numbers above.

Given Hillary’s recently whinging about misogyny, it’ll be fun to see what the Dems say if the male Democrat loses to the female Republican.

Close, But No Cigar

Well, they won another special election… almost. 30-year-old carpetbagging puppet Jon Ossoff garnered 48% of the vote in the Ga.-6th election yesterday. Since he did not overcome the 50% threshold to avoid a runoff election the liberals pissed away almost $9 million. Well, it’s only money. He will now face another contest on June 20, not against 11 republicans, but one — Karen Handel, former secretary of state who ran for senator and governor previously. It is likely the heavily republican district will coalesce around her, making her the heir to HHS Secretary Tom Price.

Jon Ossoff Finishes Below 50%, Georgia’s 6th District Heading to Runoff
In the end, Ossoff ended up pulling in less than 50%, with totals showing him at 48.6% after a huge dump of votes came in from Fulton County around midnight, leading to numerous outlets to project this as heading to a runoff. Republican Karen Handel was second at 19.5% and will be his opponent in a June runoff.
This has been a race that Democrats have been targeting since it opened up, as President Donald Trump won it by less than two points in November. Millions of dollars have been pumped into the Democratic campaign. Meanwhile, Trump has taken to Twitter to weigh in on the race in an effort to energize Republicans.

“Five Takeaways From the Georgia Special Election”

[CtH: This is from MSN, which was anti-Trump/pro-Hillary.  IOW, this is the best spin they could come up with.  ::snork::  My fave line: “A female Republican politician probably wasn’t his preferred choice for the runoff.”  No, really?]

1. This isn’t a win, and it isn’t a loss. It is a “to be continued.”
2. Ossoff will have a reasonable chance of winning in June.
3. This is not a great result for Republicans. Moral victories are a myth, but they can tell us things about other, similarly situated contests.
4. Ossoff did have unique advantages
5. It’s early. Perhaps most importantly, it is early. Despite protestations to the contrary, we don’t know where President Trump’s job approval will be in the fall of 2018.

MSNBC: Democrats grumbling about how Jon Ossoff blew millions of campaign dollars on TV ads

Democrats begin to wonder: When do we win?
For all the roiling anger and energy at the grass roots, the party still fell short in Georgia and Kansas. And Democratic prospects in upcoming elections aren’t promising.

For all the anger, energy, and money swirling at the grass-roots level, Democrats didn’t manage to pick off the first two Republican-held congressional seats they contended for in the Trump era, and the prospects aren’t markedly better in the next few House races coming up: the Montana race at the end of May, and the South Carolina contest on June 20.

After that, it’ll be a further five months before the New Jersey and Virginia elections for governor, leaving some strategists and lawmakers wondering how to keep the furious rank-and-file voters engaged in fueling and funding the party’s comeback — especially given the sky-high expectations that surrounded Ossoff’s ultimately unsuccessful run at the 50-percent threshold that was necessary to win the seat outright.

The Devil Went Down to Georgia

Another Tuesday….another special election…..another pathetic display by a political party so desperate for any kind of positive news they’ll pour $10 million into a House race for a seat the republicans have held for 40 years. Tom Price was appointed HHS director by President Trump and this was his seat. After the democrats congratulated themselves by “only” losing a special election last week in Kansas by 8 points they really, really hope to win this one. It’s an open election where if no one candidate wins 51% of the vote the top two have a runoff. 80-90% of the cash poured in to this election is from outside sources. Around the webs:

Trump raises the stakes in GA special election today
Welcome to another Tuesday, another special election, and another opportunity for speculation about whether Donald Trump and Republicans are really in trouble this time. Voters in Georgia’s 6th District go to the polls today for the all-in primary that pits 18 candidates against each other to replace Tom Price, now Health and Human Services Secretary for the Trump administration. Democrats have poured over eight million dollars into the race, and have to hope that Jon Ossoff will get to 50% today to avoid the runoff:
It’s a foregone conclusion that Ossoff will win a plurality today. The Republican vote will get split among eleven candidates. Democrats hoped to get a massive turnout from their side in today’s race to get to the 50% mark, which is why so much cash has flowed into a House special election. Unfortunately for them, Ossoff hasn’t polled outside of the low 40s in the R+8 district, so that strategy required Republicans to sit at home — or to have Democrats turn out in massive numbers. In a special election, that could happen, and might catch Republicans napping.

Democrats throw millions, Hollywood punch into Georgia House race

Democrats are pumping millions into the Georgia congressional election set for Tuesday, hoping a 30-year-old political upstart who’s attracting star power can deliver a rebuke to President Trump and help the party reclaim lost momentum.

Hollywood has even come out for the off-cycle vote, with actor Samuel L. Jackson cutting a radio ad urging voters to flip the seat once held by Republican Tom Price, who is now Trump’s health secretary.

Hopeful ABC: Special Election Win Could Mean ‘Real Chance’ Dems Take Congress
The journalists on Monday’s Good Morning America excitedly predicted that a special election in April of 2017, 18 months before the midterm elections, could mean a “real chance Democrats take back Congress in 2018.” Discussing Democrat John Osoff’s chances in Tuesday’s Georgia House race, Matt Dowd enthused: “Can he win it without a runoff? If a Democrat wins that district in Georgia, there’s real chance Democrats could take back Congress in 2018.”

Heavy Funding for Dem Jon Ossoff Catches Republicans Flat-Footed in Georgia Special Election

A highly energized effort by the Democrats that has raised more than $8.9 million from around the country for thirty-year-old Jon Ossoff has caught the Republican leadership napping .
This puts the young Democrat within striking distance of the 50 percent plus one he needs to win the crowded Sixth Congressional District special election “jungle primary” in Georgia to replace Republican Tom Price, now Secretary of Health and Human Services, outright on Tuesday.

CBS Hypes Young Democrat in Georgia Primary, ‘Hopes’ Are ‘Invested’ in Him

It’s not the first time CBS had thrown its weight behind a candidate just before a close election. In the run up to the 2016 presidential election, CBS touted Clinton’s ‘Get Out the Vote’ efforts in early voted Iowa. “Early access to the polls in Iowa was not lost on the Clinton campaign today,” Pelley touted back in September. Just a few days before the 2016 election, Pelley was greatly concerned that African-Americans wouldn’t turnout in the numbers needed for Clinton to beat Trump.

Trump Enters the Fray of Georgia Special Election, Attacks ‘Super Liberal Democrat’ Ossoff

Ossoff is a former congressional staffer for Rep. Hank Johnson (D, Ga.) (YOU KNOW,THE DUMBASS WHO SAID GUAM WOULD TIP OVER IF EVERYBODY WENT TO ONE SIDE OF THE ISLAND), who once compared Jewish settlers in the West Bank to “termites.” Ossoff has touted his national security credentials on the campaign trail, initially claiming he spent five years as a national security staffer with Johnson with access to classified information. The candidate later admitted he had misrepresented his record, only working as a full-time aide for about half that time while holding a security clearance for his final five months of the job.

Voter booths

Judicial Watch has given these 11 states 90 days to clean up their voter rolls, as mandated by the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA), or face law suits.

  • Majority R: Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, Tennessee.
  • Split: Florida, Iowa.
  • Majority D: Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, New York.

The NVRA requires states to make a reasonable effort to remove the names of voters who have died, moved away, or are not U.S. citizens.

Judicial Watch lists the counties in each state that have more registered voters than they have voting-age citizens.

Republican Wins Kansas Special Election

But it’s a WIN for the Democrats!
LIBERALS LIVE IN A FANTASY LAND WHERE EVEN IF YOU LOSE, YOU CLAIM YOU WIN!

Kansas Treasurer Ron Estes won the special election in the 4th district against Democratic civil rights attorney James Thompson. Estes won with 52% of the vote.

Democrats tried to spin the win into a positive because the margin of victory was small. Naturally, many members of the political media joined them.
The New York Times was not much better:

While Mr. Thompson fell short, his unexpected strength represents a warning shot toward Republicans. And it will galvanize Democrats’ candidate-recruitment efforts for next year’s campaign.

But then the House Republican campaign arm released a venomous ad accusing Mr. Thompson of favoring abortion rights for gender selection. Soon after, Senator Ted Cruz of Texas scheduled a rally for Mr. Estes on Monday. And Mr. Trump and Vice President Mike Pence recorded automated get-out-the-vote calls.
Thompson could not even take the high road:

“Mr. Estes did not beat us,” Mr. Thompson told supporters after the race was called. “It took a president of the United States, the vice president, the speaker of the House, a senator coming into our state and a bunch of lies to drum up a vote.”

His campaign and the DNC also tried to make this look like a win for the left:

“I think the momentum we’ve seen here on the ground, and outpouring of support from Democrats across the country into races like this, is a good signs for Democrats nationally regardless of what happens tonight,” Thompson campaign manager Colin Curtis said before the election.

Who was the U.S. Senator Who Asked Russia to Help His Party Win an Election?

Hint: It wasn’t Jeff Sessions.

kennedy-reagan-andropov

In 1991, a reporter for the London Times found a May 14, 1983, memo in the Soviet archives.

It was from Victor Chebrikov, then the top man at the KGB.

It was addressed to Yuri Andropov, then the top man in the entire USSR and a former director of the KGB.

The subject was Sen. Edward Kennedy’s recent request for Russia’s help in defeating Ronald Reagan in the 1984 presidential election.

In exchange, Kennedy offered to visit Moscow to help Soviet officials brush up their propaganda on nuclear disarmament and to arrange for Andropov to enjoy chummy interviews with major American television companies.

In 1992, the reporter published a story about the memorandum in the London Times. Big surprise (NOT), here in the U.S., the left-stream media yawned.

News of the Day

Two events of note today:

First, and most important (to ME anyway), today marks 22 years I’ve officially been a pain in my wife’s backside. She gets looks of sympathy from everybody from my family to the checkout people at Walmart. I sit on a scooter at the end of the checkout as she’s paying for her purchases and crack wise. The looks of pity she gets from total strangers are priceless.

Second, today is the day the DNC chooses the next socialist to send the party farther into the wilderness. The choices are Tom Perez, a friend of the Clintons, Joe Biden, and Eric Holder, OR Keith Ellison, the anti-Semitic, hard-left, community-organizing Muslim who is backed by Bernie Sanders, Upchuck Schumer, and the rest of the usual suspects. It matters not a whit who they choose because their message of violence, intolerance, and total government control will never change.

Michael Moore endorses Ellison for DNC chair: Party needs ‘fresh blood’
Moore went on to lay out why he believes Ellison is the best suited to lead the DNC.“He’s from the Midwest,” Moore said. “Before he was a congressman in Minnesota, he helped turn Minnesota from what was then a red state into a blue state. He did political neighborhood organizing in the state of Minnesota. We need an organizer who is going to bring people out and turn this party around.”

The Case for Tom Perez Makes No Sense
His supporters say he’s just as progressive as Keith Ellison. So why bother fielding him at all?  Ellison has captured the support of the left wing. Ellison backed Sanders early in his primary race against Hillary Clinton, and was one of the first candidates to announce his bid for DNC chair. The Hill reports, “Perez supporters have expressed concern about handing the party over to the Sanders wing of the party, arguing that Ellison would move the party too far to the left.” And the New York Times suggests that Democratic leaders pushed Perez to run because they viewed Ellison as too close to the Sanders wing.

The Sanders vs. Clinton schism in the Democratic party isn’t going away

Keith Ellison is the progressive choice being supported by Sanders himself. As Ed noted yesterday, Ellison is already taking a far left line, pushing for impeachment of President Trump (who has also offered a semi-endorsement of Ellison). But moderates in the party don’t like Ellison much.
Case in point, today Alan Dershowitz wrote a piece for the Hill threatening to leave the party if Ellison becomes chairman:
“There has been powerful push from the hard-left of the Democratic Party, led by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), to elect Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) chairman. If he is elected, I will quit the party after 60 years of loyal association and voting.”

DNC chair vote: live coverage

Here is a look at the clicker Democrats will use to register their votes, courtesy of Frank Leone, a DNC member from Virginia. Members will also fill out paper ballots that will be collected for a later audit.
There are believed to be several dozen members that are not on hand who instead sent proxies to register their votes.

Obama, Democratic ‘super group’ unite to end gerrymandering, win state races, reclaim majorities
democratsTHEY HONESTLY THINK THE PROBLEM IS THAT THEY HAVEN’T GOTTEN THEIR MESSAGE OUT.  THE ACTUAL PROBLEM IS, IT HAS. AND IT’S BEEN SOUNDLY REJECTED.

“America needs non-partisan redistricting commissions,” O’Malley said at Boston College Law School, where he’s now a visiting professor. “This simple reform … must become the new norm of American democracy. … How can we expect people to vote if their voice has been carved into irrelevance by a political map ahead of time?”

An early test for Democrats trying to win state-level races and stopping the Trump wave arrives this weekend.

Delaware is holding a special election for an open state Senate seat that will decided whether Democrats keep their roughly 40-year hold on the chamber.

“If we lose, a new Republican majority will take power and rubber-stamp every single one of Trump’s hateful policies,” the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee said in a recent fundraising letter. “They’ll grind all our progress to a halt.”

THE ACADEMY AWARDS ARE TOMORROW NIGHT. YEAH, I DON’T CARE EITHER.

Street Artist Mocks Hollywood And The Oscars With Fake Movie Posters
Conservative artist Sabo created fake movie posters to mock Hollywood and the Oscars ahead of Sunday’s show to send a message to celebrities who keep attacking President Donald Trump.

The Los Angeles based street artist plastered the movie posters and “fake Redbox kiosks” Thursday night he created in “hard to reach places” near where celebrities will be walking the red carpet at the 89th Academy Awards show, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

“Yeah, we wouldn’t have paid full price to watch any Oscar nominated movies either,” one of the sayings on the fake RedBox kiosks read.
“These pieces look so legit no one is thinking to take them down,” Sabo said. “It almost looks like a real Redbox ad. I consider this piece my representation of the discounting of Hollywood.”

Spicer: President Trump Will Not Watch The Academy Awards This Year

President Trump will not watch the Academy Awards Sunday night, press secretary Sean Spicer said at the briefing Wednesday.
“I’ve got to be honest with you, I think the president will be hosting the Governors Ball that night,” Spicer said when asked if Trump would be watching. “The first lady has put a lot of time into this event, welcoming our nation’s governors to the capital. I have a feeling that’s where the president and first lady are going to be focused on Sunday night, so we’ll go from there.”

Before that, Spicer was asked why he thinks celebrities like Meryl Streep give politically charged speeches from the stage at awards shows.

“I have no idea. It’s a free country. I think Hollywood is known for being rather far to the left in its opinions.”
