The Lyin’ of the Senate

It is said one should not speak ill of the dead. In this case, that seems an impossibility. On August 25, 2009, Senator Edward Moore Kennedy finally went to his fate in the tenth circle of Hell he worked hard to earn. He was elected to the Senate in 1962 and spent the next 40 years living off the memory of his murdered brothers. At his funeral the press and his co-conspirators in the Senate heaped nauseating praise on the creature who made waitress sandwiches with Chis Dodd at La Brasserie.

A film about his killing of an innocent woman was released last week. In full disclosure, I have not, nor do I intend to see this movie. It comes 50 years too late and hardly mentions Mary Jo Kopechne, his victim. There is a meme going around that in the War on Women, Kennedy is the only one with a confirmed kill. This is not funny. It is a fact.

Review: ‘Chappaquiddick’ Captures Senator Kennedy’s Biggest Scandal
“President Kennedy cast a long shadow and still does. It’s what I walk in every day.” These sentiments, espoused by Senator Ted Kennedy (Jason Clarke) in the new drama Chappaquiddick, help set the stage for what is to follow. The film recalls the tragic events that occurred on Chappaquiddick Island in the summer of 1969.
The film shows how calculating he was in the aftermath of the tragedy and how willing he was to make himself into a martyr, even noting in a speech to the public that he could be a victim of the Kennedy curse.

Media Celebrated Known Sexual Harasser Ted Kennedy
Listening to liberal journalists denounce Roy Moore, Al Franken and John Conyers, you’d think the media had zero tolerance for politicians with a known history of sexual misconduct. But the plain truth is the media have been complicit in normalizing, even justifying, such behavior for decades – if it helped protect the cause of big government liberalism.
Exhibit A: Ted Kennedy.
For decades, the Massachusetts Senator and known sexual harasser was celebrated by the media, even though tales of his womanizing ways were well known by reporters who covered Capitol Hill. From his leaving Mary Jo Kopechne to drown in a car in Chappaquiddick, to his propositioning of a 16-year-old girl from his limo to the sexual assault of a Washington D.C. waitress, liberal reporters excused his misdeeds because the “Liberal Lion of the Senate” was advancing leftist legislation.

Film Review – Chappaquiddick
FROM L.I.

Ted Kennedy, who has just participated in a sailboat regatta shows up at the party, toasts all the girls as part of the Kennedy family and quickly finds himself sitting on the couch with Kopechne. They eventually slip away from the party for a drive into American history.
Everything Kennedy does in the hours after the accident only makes the situation worse. He is like a child who knows he has done something that will mean real trouble but instead of owning up, continually tries to deny reality or somehow scheme his way out of it.
Kennedy attends the funeral for Kopechne and wears a neck brace against everyone’s advice, a move he ultimately regrets. Shortly after that, it is Kennedy himself who comes up with the idea of making a nationally televised statement about the incident, a concept which is cheered by his advisers.
He toys with the thought of using this address to resign from the senate but ultimately decides to put the onus of that decision on the voters of Massachusetts. It is at this point, that Kennedy finds his way out and it is presented as cynically as it sounds.

Chappaquiddick’ Distorts a Tragedy
In a New York Times op-ed published Friday, a liberal journalist and film critic complained the new film Chappaquiddick was a “character assassination” of its central character, Democratic Senator Ted Kennedy.
In “How ‘Chappaquiddick’ Distorts a Tragedy”, Neal Gabler, who is working on a biography of Kennedy complained the film, released in theaters Friday, has been “heavily promoted by conservative media outlets, and reviewers across the political spectrum have praised what they deem its damning but factual approach. Damning it is; factual it is not.”

Many have wondered when the rhetoric between parties began to coarsen. I believe it may have been when Kennedy shamelessly savaged Judge Robert Bork during his Supreme Court nomination hearing. He accused Bork of relegating women to back alley abortions with coat hangers.
George W. Bush allowed him to write the education bill which has hastened the transformation of our school system from an educational exercise to one of social indoctrination.
He is but one example of the democrats’ greed for money and power.
After I decided to voice my opinion of his abuse of Judge Bork, I came across this:

Joe Biden Boasts of Keeping ‘Brilliant Conservative’ Robert Bork Off Supreme Court

More than 30 years after a relentless campaign of character assassination kept Robert Bork from a seat on the Supreme Court, one of the architects of that attack is belatedly crediting its target for his brilliance.
Appearing on the popular liberal podcast Pod Save America on March 28, former Vice President Joe Biden revisited his role in derailing Bork’s nomination to the court in 1987 while Biden was chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
I’m the guy that kept there from being a guy who was maybe the most brilliant conservative who was nominated for the Supreme Court (Favreau snickers) and I kept him off the court. And I was able to … in the Judiciary Committee (to) defeat (Clarence) Thomas (nominated by the elder Bush four years later).
As is his wont, Biden lets the cat out of the bag. The biggest problem for liberals when it came to Bork was not his originalist views of the Constitution, or that he pulled the trigger for Nixon in the so-called Saturday Night Massacre, but the fact that he was brilliant and could be expected to push the court to the right for generations to come — hence he had to be destroyed.
How seemingly gracious of Biden to acknowledge Bork as legal exemplar, albeit long after it mattered and seeing how it is now beyond dispute.”

Volunteers Needed

Not a day goes by without another athlete/politician/actor/window washer/ insurance agent/Wal Mart greeter/two-peckered billy goat is not accused of assault, rape, harassment, static cling, or the heartbreak of psoriasis. I feel a little left out, like the last kid picked when choosing up sides for a ball game. What I need help with is this:

I need some women to come forward and publicly announce I was naughty in the 1970s. It has to be that far back since the Pistol Pete thrill ride shut down many, many years ago. I have high blood pressure, severe emphysema, and a pacemaker, so it would kill me anyway. Doesn’t matter, nobody needs proof, just get a hold of Gloria Allred and have her call a news conference. It would make me feel better knowing I’m one of the cool people, even if it’s no more credible than the accusations against Judge Moore.

Jameis Winston Under NFL Investigation for Allegedly Groping Uber Driver

“He sexually assaulted me, and I have every right to tell the damn truth about it.”
IN CASE YOU DON’T KNOW WHO HE IS:

He was a Heisman Trophy winner while he attended (sort of) Florida State. The school won the national championship that year.

He was also accused of raping a white coed, he stole crab legs from a supermarket, and he stood on a table in the student dining hall screaming racial epithets. The district attorney came under enormous pressure not to prosecute by alumni and fans.

She said he “behaved poorly” right away as he shouted “in part, homophobic slurs at pedestrians.” Winston wanted food so she drove him to Los Betos Mexican Food.
Waiting in line at the drive-thru of Los Betos Mexican Food, “he reached over and he just grabbed my crotch,” Kate said, alleging that Winston held his hand there for three to five seconds and removed it only after she looked up in shock and said, “What’s up with that?”

Winston’s representative Russ Spielman denies the accusations. The team has not returned any media requests for comments.

Kate said she does not want money or fame, but wants the truth out. She found courage after so many women have come forward with their stories about powerful men abusing their position.

Women allege sexual harassment while working on Clinton, Sanders campaigns
A former organizer for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign and a former volunteer for Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) 2016 White House bid say they were the victims of sexual harassment while they were working for the candidates, according to a HuffPost report on Friday.  The allegations come in the midst of a wave of sexual harassment charges in the political realm.

Ohio Supreme Court Justice Bill O’Neill, responding to Franken allegations, claims bedding 50 women
CLEVELAND, Ohio – Ohio Supreme Court Justice Bill O’Neill, a Democratic candidate for governor, apparently trying to head off any criticisms from his opponents, revealed what he says are his sexual escapades over the years on a Facebook post.

[CtH: I’m sorry, but what?  Does telling on yourself suddenly make it A-OK?  Oh wait.  He’s the DEMOCRATIC candidate.  My bad.  Forgive me while I continue surfing through my scrapbooks and diaries from the 70s. ::coughcough::]

Congresswoman says ‘prominent’ senator sexually harassed her
“Historical figure, hand kept going up the leg, I took it off. A women member was at the table, recognized what was happening, and said, ‘switch places,’” Michigan Rep. Debbie Dingell told CNN. Dingell said it happened in her first year of marriage to Rep. John Dingell, whom she wed in 1981.  But despite the 36-year time gap, Dingell said she’s still afraid to name the prominent perv.

[CtH: Reading between the lines … “prominent perv” is still in good favor with the power behind the Democratic Party.]

WaPo Column From ‘Feminist:’ We Must Save Franken Because He’s a Democrat Who Votes the Right Way
I think there’s a case to be made that Franken’s behavior is worthy of scorn, but shouldn’t trigger his ouster from the Senate — especially in the absence of additional credible allegations reflecting a pattern of predatory behavior.

[CtH: But we should TOTES BELIEVE any and all unsubstantiated slurs and anonymous sources that tell tales on Republicans.]

I REMEMBER VIVIDLY WHEN CLINTON WAS FIRST ACCUSED OF GETTING HEAD FROM A YOUNG GIRL.  WILLIAM BENNETT WAS ON “THIS WEEK” WITH SOME FEMINAZI WHO SAID THEY WERE STILL SUPPORTING HIM BECAUSE “HE’S WITH US ON SO MANY OTHER ISSUES.”

BENNETT RESPONDED: “WHAT THAT MEANS IS THAT IF YOU’RE GOING TO BE A RAPIST YOU BETTER BE PRO-CHOICE.”

[CtH: Fortunately for the Left, rapists are very much pro-choice.  They like nothing better than being able to drag their victims down to the local PP clinic and getting the evidence of their crimes sucked out.]

Flashback: ‘Lion of the Senate’ Ted Kennedy’s Weird Sex Antics Widely Known
One glaring example proves this point. Remember the man hailed by liberals and the mainstream media as the “Lion of the Senate,” Ted Kennedy? His truly bizarre, off the wall, sexual harassment antics were widely known long before he passed away in 2009 yet there was no condemnation of him and, of course, no call for him to leave the Senate.

GQ magazine published an article about the “waitress sandwich” incident involving both Kennedy and fellow senator Chris Dodd in their February 1990 edition which was reprinted on April 14, 2016. It reveals in excruciating detail the extremely humiliating sexual harassment of a waitress, yet no liberal voice was raised against Kennedy (or Dodd) even though the incident was common knowledge.

I HAVEN’T THE WORDS TO CONVEY THE CONTEMPT I HARBOR FOR THIS STINKING PIG. NOT ONLY DID HE LIVE OFF HIS DEAD BROTHERS’ NAME FOR 40 YEARS.  HE RUINED THE EDUCATION SYSTEM WHEN BUSH ALLOWED HIM TO WRITE THE BILL.  HE BEGAN THE ATTACKS ON CONSERVATIVES WHEN HE ACTED SO SHAMELESSLY DURING THE ROBERT BORK CONFIRMATION HEARINGS.  HE DIED WAY TOO LATE TO SUIT ME.

[CtH: It’s really good for my blood pressure that I believe in God’s perfect justice.]

Some really good stuff in the reply section today.

Who was the U.S. Senator Who Asked Russia to Help His Party Win an Election?

Hint: It wasn’t Jeff Sessions.

kennedy-reagan-andropov

In 1991, a reporter for the London Times found a May 14, 1983, memo in the Soviet archives.

It was from Victor Chebrikov, then the top man at the KGB.

It was addressed to Yuri Andropov, then the top man in the entire USSR and a former director of the KGB.

The subject was Sen. Edward Kennedy’s recent request for Russia’s help in defeating Ronald Reagan in the 1984 presidential election.

In exchange, Kennedy offered to visit Moscow to help Soviet officials brush up their propaganda on nuclear disarmament and to arrange for Andropov to enjoy chummy interviews with major American television companies.

In 1992, the reporter published a story about the memorandum in the London Times. Big surprise (NOT), here in the U.S., the left-stream media yawned.

Democrat, thy name is Hypocrite.

  • In 1991, U.S. Senator and Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee Joe Biden led the Anita Hill witch hunt during hearings for Clarence Thomas’s nomination to the Supreme Court. Those hearings put the nation on high alert about sexual harassment in the workplace and Joe Biden led the charge.

1991 Biden and Kennedy at Thomas hearing

  • In 1993, U.S. Senator Joe Biden said, “No man has a right to touch a woman without her consent, and that’s what we’ve got to get across.”
  • In 2000, while discussing the Violence Against Women Act, U.S. Senator Joe Biden said, “There is no circumstance under which a man has a right to touch a woman without her consent other than self-defense. We are changing the attitudes of America about what constitutes appropriate behavior on the part of a man with a woman.”

50 shades of Creepy Joe

Another victim of Irony Retardation is David Axelrod, who was a top political advisor to President Bill Clinton, a chief campaign advisor to Barack Obama during the campaign for the presidency in 2008 and Obama’s Senior Advisor from 2008 to 2011.

During a discussion of his new book, “Believer: My Forty Years in Politics”, he actually said OUT LOUD, “I’m proud of the fact that basically you’ve had an administration that has been in place for six years in which there hasn’t been a major scandal. I think that says a lot about the ethical strictures of this administration.”

Whatever he’s smoking is probably illegal. Michelle Malkin filled an entire book with Obama scandals before his administration was 6 months old. At this point, he’s got a veritable alphabet soup of scandals.

The one and ONLY reason nothing has become a “major scandal” is that the butt-sniffing, leg-humping MSM that gleefully piled on Republican Clarence Thomas for something he may have said years before totally ignore, downplay, excuse and laugh off egregious behavior by their Democrat cronies.

They make me sick.

Media Bias and Political Scandals

The MSM is on a feeding frenzy over Republican Chris Christie’s Bridgegate scandal.

2014_01 Bridgegate media frenzy

Now … think back and ask yourself how much “frenzy” there was in their reporting of these Democrat political scandals

Fast & Furious, Benghazi, IRS targeting Tea Party and Conservative groups, DOJ eavesdropping illegally on Fox and AP reporters, Healthcare dot gov’s epic and on-going failure, NSA eavesdropping on pretty much everybody, Anthony Weiner’s sexting scandal, Eliot Spitzer “Client 9” hooker scandal, John Edwards’ infidelity while running for VP scandal, Former Chairman of the Senate Banking Committee Chris Dodd’s sweetheart loan deals, GSA’s Party-gate, IRS waste and bonus scandal, Solyndra etc. “green” government grants followed by “golden parachute for Dem donors” bankruptcy scandals, Charlie Rangel financial disclosure scandal, Maxine Waters banking ethics scandal, convicted criminal and Obama bundler Tony Rezko’s sweetheart real estate deal with Barack Obama, Fannie Mae Democrat CEO bonuses and campaign constributions scandals, billionaire Democrat bundler for Obama Jon Corzine’s perjury and financial hijinks scandal, Obama’s Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner tax evasion scandal, Jesse Jackson Jr.’s attempt to buy Obama’s vacated Senate seat, Oregon Congressman David Wu’s sexual assault of a teenager, David Paterson’s bullying of a domestic violence victim, Eric sexual harassment of a staffer, Obama’s National Security Advisor Tom Donilon leaking national security secrets.

Keep in mind this list could be a lot longer.

So, why is it that Chris Christie is responsible for everything his staffers do, while Democrats are hardly held accountable for their own bad behaviors?

2011 - 1994 Media bias - Sex scandals

This is nothing new either. Remember how Robert Byrd was once a poobah in the KKK? Remember how Ted Kennedy abandoned a woman to die at Chappaquiddick?  You don’t?  Hmmm … ask yourself why that is and how the MSM would’ve harped on these two stories endlessly if Kennedy or Byrd had been Republicans.
