Fly with Confidence, America; Those ISIS Activists on Your Flight are Mostly Harmless

Back4“Do you trust me?” So asked the petite, blonde, senior Delta flight attendant in the short red dress, fresh from delivering trays of cocktails to first class passengers. “Believe me, I’ve been through much worse than this on my plane before. Front page news stuff. Don’t want to talk about it right now, mind you.”

“But you can trust me, this woman is no physical threat. She’s just flown in from Dubai, which is an 18 hour flight, and she’s just a little irritable. She’s an American, but she’s absorbed a lot of the culture over there, if you know what I mean. I’ve got this under control.”

The 98 lb aspiring Navy SEAL was assuring me that I should not be concerned after she was running up and down the aisle asking passengers where the woman with the “thingy” on her head was sitting. I believed her, though she would have been more convincing had she known what a hijab is. And been a hundred pounds heavier. And been a man with a gun.

As it was, I’d already heard quite enough to be concerned about how this flight was shaping up yesterday. I was on my way home to Denver after a long work trip on the east coast. The woman with the zebra hijab was in my row, and even before we took off, she’d wasted no time in provoking the other women in the row into panic by chatting about terrorism.  They responded by burying their faces in their books and by begging her to mind her own business. She then moved on to me, insisting that I witness some imaginary insult someone had done to her, and stating loudly to the whole section that “You see this?? This is TERROR!” I don’t even know what she was talking about. Perhaps she was upset that the flight attendants had not brought her before-take-off wine yet. But several things were clear: she was neither truly upset nor irritable in any way. She was relaxed and playing a part, and it was quite a performance.  She was also clearly an activist.  And that’s what worried me. Continue reading

Left vs Right in Simple Terms

Last month at the left-wingnuts’ Netroots conference, Sen. Elizabeth “Fauxcahontas” Warren (D-MA) issued Eleven Progressive Commandments.

This week, former Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) issued the Conservative Response.

2014_08 Warren v Palin commandments

1. Elizabeth Warren: “We believe that Wall Street needs stronger rules and tougher enforcement, and we’re willing to fight for it.”

Sarah Palin’s response: “We believe that Washington, D.C. needs to take less of our money. It needs more scrutiny, fewer bureaucrats, and it needs a reminder of the principles laid down in the Constitution that our leaders swear to defend. Furthermore, we believe crony capitalism is infecting both sides of the aisle in D.C. We’re working really hard to root it out of our party. Senator Warren, what are you doing to root it out of yours?”

2. Warren: “We believe in science, and that means that we have a responsibility to protect this Earth.”

Palin’s response: “We believe in science and God’s magnificent creation overflowing with natural resources. That means we have a responsibility to honor Him by protecting the earth as we develop our resources in an environmentally sound way for mankind’s use.”

3. Warren: “We believe that the Internet shouldn’t be rigged to benefit big corporations, and that means real net neutrality.”

Palin’s response: “We believe the Internet shouldn’t be censored by the world’s tyrants. That means President Obama should reverse his disastrous decision to hand over control of Internet domain names to the U.N., where it will come under the thumb of authoritarian regimes like Russia and China.”

4. Warren: “We believe that no one should work full-time and still live in poverty, and that means raising the minimum wage.”

Palin’s response: “We believe in lifting Americans out of poverty and into sustainable jobs. That means government needs to butt out of employer-employee pay issues. And quit over-regulating business and increasing taxes. It drives up operating costs — that’s what affects wages.”

5. Warren: “We believe that fast-food workers deserve a livable wage, and that means that when they take to the picket line, we are proud to fight alongside them.”

Palin’s response: “We believe … wait, I thought fast food joints … don’t you guys think that they are of the devil or something?  Liberals, I thought you wanted to send those evil employees who would dare work at a fast food joint to purgatory or something until they all go vegan?! Wages and picket lines, I dunno, they’re not often discussed in purgatory, are they?

“We believe in America where minimum-wage jobs are not lifetime gigs. They are stepping stones to a good job with sustainable wages. It teaches work ethic. We believe in helping Americans climb the economic ladder, not get stuck on the first rung. A strong economy with good-paying jobs comes from free enterprise, not from a top-down, bloated, big-government, command-and-control economy.”

6. Warren: “We believe that students are entitled to get an education without being crushed by debt.”

Palin’s response: “We believe that students learn to not make decisions that result in a lot of debt. And we believe that schools need to be more accountable for the insane increase in tuition.  …  It’s no accident, Elizabeth, that the rise in tuition corresponds with the rise in government intervention. More government isn’t the answer.”

7. Warren: “We believe that after a lifetime of work, people are entitled to retire with dignity, and that means protecting Social Security, Medicare, and pensions.”

Palin’s response: “We believe a pension is a promise. It must be honored. We do that by using common sense and prioritizing budgets that once and for all will end waste and fraud and the crony capitalism and the stupid political decisions that are bankrupting our nation. We believe that in order to keep faith with future generations and fulfill our current commitments to our seniors, we must enact sensible entitlement reform.”

8. Warren: “We believe — I can’t believe I have to say this in 2014 — we believe in equal pay for equal work.”

Palin’s response: “We believe — I can’t believe I have to say this in 2014 — we believe in equal pay for equal work. And President Barack Obama should abandon his hypocritical practice of paying women less than men in his campaigns, in his administration, and in the White House.”

9. Warren: “We believe that equal means equal, and that’s true in marriage, it’s true in the workplace, it’s true in all of America.”

Palin’s response: “We believe that all men and women are created equal. They claim that we are not tolerant? Well, we believe that tolerance goes both ways. That means respecting people’s right to disagree with you, instead of trying to intimidate or silence us. We believe the answer to free speech that you find offensive is more free speech, not less.”

10. Warren: “We believe that immigration has made this country strong and vibrant, and that means reform.”

Palin’s response: “We believe that legal immigration helped make this country strong and vibrant. And that means welcoming law-abiding, hard-working immigrants who wish to come here legally and pledge their allegiance to the United States of America. Furthermore, we believe, as none other than Cesar Chavez believed, that illegal immigration hurts the country. It unfairly hurts working-class Americans of all races, all backgrounds who are seeking good-paying jobs, security for their families.”

11. Warren: “And we believe that corporations are not people, that women have a right to their bodies. We will overturn Hobby Lobby and we will fight for it. We will fight for it!”

Palin’s response: “We believe women have a right to their bodies, just as babies have a right to their living, breathing bodies nestled in a mother’s womb. And anyone who wants contraception, more power to you. Continue to freely buy any kind you want, no one is stopping you. We’ll fight for the right of private businesses, including Hobby Lobby, to work with you to figure out health-care coverage themselves in any way the owners of these businesses (that they built themselves) want to, knowing that government intervention just always screws everything up.

“Furthermore, we believe that religious liberty is enshrined in our Constitution, remember?  The government has no right to coerce people to violate their religious beliefs. And if they try to take any of our Constitutional rights away, we will fight for them.”

Palin had “one final thought for Sen. Warren and her would-be progressive populists.”

“We conservatives believe, as Ronald Reagan said, that you can’t be for big taxes, big government, big bureaucracy and still be for the little guy. We stand with the little guy, who is being bullied and beaten down by the progressive left’s failed policies of yours, Elizabeth Warren.  We stand for free men and free markets — the twin ideals that made this nation strong, peaceful, and prosperous. We say, God Bless America. We hope you say the same, Senator Warren.”

Texas has shut down a heavily trafficked portion of the border

2014_07 31 Gov Perry on border

Texans have reduced illegal crossings by nearly 50%.

As I understand it, defending our borders and enforcing immigration law are federal duties, ones the Obamacrat “leadership” in DC absolutely refuse to perform.

On August 1, 2014, Texas Lt. Governor David Dewhurst appeared on America’s Newsroom. [3:36]

“You’re nothing. You’re navel lint.” – UPDATE

2014_08 01 Butthurt Pelosi goes stompy foot

Friday, August 1, 2014: Rep. Tom Marino (R-PA) spoke in support of the border bill and criticized Democrat attacks on GOP efforts:

“Under the leadership of the former speaker … when in 2009 and 2010, they had the House, the Senate and the White House, and they knew this problem existed, they didn’t have the strength to go after it back then. But now are trying to make a political issue out of it now.”

While Marino still had the floor, Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi got up and TWICE crossed the chamber to chastise and shake her finger at Marino.

You can see her at :53 at the bottom right, after which Marino addresses her about doing the research. She apparently returned to her own side for about 20 seconds, because you can see her again at 1:25-1:30 coming all the way across from the Democrat to the GOP side, wagging her finger at Marino.

Interestingly, the Chair reprimanded Marino for addressing her directly, but had nothing to say to Pelosi for stalking across the room and interrupting his time on the floor!

Kinda makes one wonder what the Dems have got on THAT whipped, yellow-bellied RINO.

FULL VIDEO – Nancy Pelosi Charges At GOP Rep. Tom Marino on House Floor [1:30]

A spokesperson for Pelosi said that the minority leader has accepted Marino’s apology.

Marino says he has not apologized. (And why should he? He was only speaking the plain truth.)

In a series of tweets, Marino said,

“Rep. Pelosi called me an ‘insignificant person’ on the Floor of the House. I’ll ponder that for a while driving to Williamsport tonight. Of course I’ll be driving myself, with no staff or security. And I’m just a country lawyer who worked in a bakery until he was 30 so maybe I am not significant enough to question the former Speaker. But why then did she get so bothered by my comments?”

This reminds me of a scene in the Kevin Kline movie, Dave, where Frank Langella’s character says, “You’re navel lint.”

If you haven’t seen the movie, do. It’s a good one!

Quick backstory: Kevin Kline plays Dave, a presidential look-alike and actor. When the real president has a stroke, Langella and his cohorts rope him into pretending to be the real president so they can run the country themselves. The First Lady figures it out and cooks up a plan to bring down the Langella crowd without causing a national crisis and get Dave safely out of the White House and back to his real life.

This is how the Left rolls

I used to believe in things like “moderates” and “bipartisanship.”

Then I began to watch how today’s Democrats actually operate and got over it.

The following is presented in its entirety because you MUST READ IT ALL to believe it!

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee’s Staff Threatens Taxpayer For Asking About Her Impeachment Claims

Congressional approval ratings are at a historic low, and after what has happened over the course of the last twenty four hours – I can see why. On the House floor Wednesday, longtime Democrat Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee made the startling claim that “We did not seek an impeachment of President Bush, because as an executive, he had the authority.”

These are the moments when you say “Really?”

The problem here is that Rep. Lee lied to the American People inside the People’s House. Good thing for her that when you make speeches on the floor of the House of Representatives you are not under oath or under the threat of perjury. Perhaps that should change, but that’s another debate for another day.

Lied? Well back in 2008, Rep. Lee co-sponsored House Resolution 1258 entitled “Impeaching George W. Bush, President of the United States, of high crimes and misdemeanors. “

Today I called her Washington office to see if perhaps I was confused, and the representative from Houston was telling the truth. When reaching her D.C. congressional office, I asked the nice lady who answered the phone if she knew of the contradiction and could help my confusion. After clearly saying she was not speaking for the congresswoman, when asked about the fact there was a contradiction, she said “We are aware that the congresswoman has made contradicting statements in her remarks on the floor.”

When I pressed, and asked “Not as a representative but just as someone I am talking to, isn’t the fact that she said one thing in 2008 that is totally opposite of what she said yesterday – isn’t that really a lie?” The answer, honest but shocking, was “Yes I think that is a lie.” (Note the quotes are from memory, I didn’t anticipate that I would need to get them on record but I sure wish I had.)

That was startling. I asked to speak to someone in the office to register my thoughts on a congresswoman lying on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives. From there, it got crazy but not as crazy, and then a little crazier.

I was transferred to a gentleman on Lee’s staff. When I again asked him about the contradiction and stated that perhaps I was confused, the man said “Oh look it here, we have one of those right wing, tea-bagger nut jobs on the phone taking his cues from FOX News.”

He then accused me of being un-American, raising his voice at me while asking me to calm down, and telling me that I am just on some mission to destroy our country. When I calmly asked for his name, he said “I don’t have to give it to you because I don’t want to show up on some right wing blog and be on your Twitter account.” Keep in mind, I never said who I was – he just made assumptions and attacked me. When I reminded him that he gets paid by our tax dollars, he said “I doubt you even pay taxes and the IRS will find you soon enough,” and hung up on me.

This is a MUST VIEW video.

Zack Interview-Security on the border between USA and Mexico [14:37]
Video published on July 19, 2014. For more information, please contact: lisa@littlebonanzaproductions.com.

Immigration laws are designed to primarily do just two things: protect national security and public safety. The component of national security is the economy and American jobs. Because the foundation of American society – which is the family unit – depends on jobs and the economy for their livelihood. On the other side is the public safety, which includes public health, and that is so the people can be secure in their persons and their property from outside source threat. In other words, people coming in to take over America by force or by subterfuge.”

Shortly after this introduction above, Zack talks about how the CDC is at the border, something he never saw in his entire career as a border patrol agent. He then discusses the Ebola outbreak in Africa. This is the first I’ve heard of it, but the CDC has pages about it and it is seriously scary stuff.

What Pope Francis actually said

I’ve been seeing Left-leaning politicized headlines about a recent statement by Pope Francis suggesting that he agrees with the Obamacrats about the border crisis. Uhhhhhh … no. His words are being taken out of context in two ways.

  1. The Bishop of Rome is not a political position, but a spiritual one. Pope Francis is to be taken very seriously when he teaches or preaches on issues of faith and morals. This speech he gave is a pastoral message; interpreting it as a political manifesto is inappropriate.
  2. His statement is much more generalized and non-political than leftist sources are suggesting. The words and phrases they’re quoting to suggest he supports amnesty and open borders are taken out of context. His complete statement @ https://www.ewtn.com/vnews/getstory.asp?number=130964.

2014_01 Pope's Home Alone face

I hope you’ll note that he’s speaking to a Mexican audience. His command that “these children be welcomed and protected” should perhaps be directed first and foremost at the Mexican government that is enabling the wholesale transfer of unaccompanied minors from Central America ACROSS their own territory and into the United States.

I hope you’ll also note that he specifically mentions finding LEGAL remedies to the problems of immigration and that he speaks globally, to all nations and peoples. Obamacrats want to use his words to condemn Americans who believe the most compassionate thing we can do is to enforce our laws and return the children to their parents. I think his actual words could more truthfully be used to condemn the way the kids are actually being treated by the Obama administration, with its closed facilities and refusal to allow compassionate citizens to provide aid or comfort in any way.
