This seems both tragic and comical at the same time. McCarthy, who was being touted as the next tool of the democrat party, suddenly withdrew from the race for Speaker. The reaction to the news from different quarters was predictable, while his reasons are still unclear. He claimed “we need a strong leader.” It was also assumed it was the quote he gave a reporter about the Benghazi hearing pulling down Hillary’s poll numbers, which her flying monkey brigade instantly made into a campaign commercial.

There is a juicier rumor which I, in sympatico with Dianny, believe is the real reason. That is that in the gilded Sodom that is Washington D.C. it was discovered he was carrying on with NC representative and the Abortion Barbie of the Right, Renee Elmers. It just seems to be the kind of dirt the obama organization always profits from.C

Here’s Dianny’s piece:

My thoughts on McCarthy dropping out

But I don’t think it was Kevin’s blundering remarks about the Benghazi committee that fueled this decision.

I believe a story in Breitbart today may have a lot more to do with McCarthy’s decision not to keep his name in the running.

The Breitbart story is about North Carolina Congressman Walter Jones writing a letter urging candidates to drop out if they had even a whiff of a scandal that could destroy them or embarrass the Republican Party.

I saw that article and immediately thought of something I read on Twitter last week.

In case you missed it, Charles C Johnson from — admittedly not the most unimpeachable source — reported in late September that Kevin McCarthy has been carrying on an affair with North Carolina Congresswoman Renee Ellmers (which has resulted in Johnson receiving a cease and desist order this week from Ellmers’ attorney).

McCarthy withdraws from speaker race, vote postponed
McCarthy’s decision, announced moments before Republicans were set to nominate their candidate, will postpone the vote for speaker. McCarthy had been running against Reps. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, and Daniel Webster, R-Fla., before he dropped out, and it’s unclear whether other candidates will now step forward.

While Boehner originally was set to resign at the end of the month, the speaker said in a statement Thursday afternoon he “will serve as Speaker until the House votes to elect a new Speaker.” He added, “I’m confident we will elect a new Speaker in the coming weeks.”

Louie Gohmert: Boehner Postponed Speaker Vote ‘Like Any Good Dictator Would’

“It actually pointed to the reason we need a new speaker, and that is because it’s like he feels he has to pick a successor, like any good dictator would,” the Texas Republican said in comments to TheBlaze Thursday night after House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy abruptly took himself out of the running as GOP members gathered for the secret-ballot vote. “But this is not supposed to be a dictatorship. This was an awesome time, a great opportunity for the conference to come together after Kevin’s announcement and have a family discussion.”

Republican: ‘Very real’ chance GOP will need Dems to elect Speaker

Republicans may be forced to solicit Democratic help to break their Speaker stalemate, Rep. Charlie Dent (R) said Thursday.

The Pennsylvania centrist, who often serves as a mouthpiece for outgoing Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), said there is only a small handful of Republicans who can win 218 GOP votes to fill Boehner’s shoes. The trouble is, none of them wants the job.

“We may need a bipartisan coalition to elect our next Speaker,” Dent told reporters after Thursday’s closed-door GOP meeting. “That’s a very real possibility right now, and I think anybody who’s honest about this knows it. They may not want to talk about it, but they know it.”

Report: Boehner phones Paul Ryan, asks him to run for Speaker — or else he might stay on as Speaker himself

This makes three top House Republicans who’ve endorsed Ryan in the last two days as a potential uniting force. Yesterday it was Trey Gowdy:

“To me, just speaking as one member, the smartest kid in the class is Paul Ryan,” Gowdy said. “If I had one draft choice and I was starting a new country, I would draft Paul to run it. Not because I agree with him on everything, but because he’s super, super smart. And when someone is super, super smart and is not interested, that tells you something. It tells me a lot”

Trump takes credit for McCarthy dropping out

Donald Trump is taking credit for House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) dropping out of the race for Speaker.

“They’re giving me a lot of credit for that, because I said you really need somebody very, very tough and very smart — you know smart goes with tough, not just tough,” the Republican presidential front-runner said at an event in Las Vegas. “I know tough people. They’re not smart, that’s the worst, OK? That’s the worst. You’ve gotta be smart.

“But we need smart, we need tough, we need the whole package — you know, like me,” he added.

Dem. Leader: McCarthy Exit a ‘Sign That Republicans Are Unfit To Lead’

As a result of their divisions and their efforts to disrupt Congress’s work, we’ve experienced a government shutdown, a near-default on our debt, and too many missed opportunities to grow our economy and support job creation,” Hoyer said in a statement.

He blamed the splits on GOP conservatives, not the establishment side of the GOP.

“With Speaker [John] Boehner resigning last month and Leader [Eric] Cantor losing his primary election last year, this is just the latest chapter in the history of an extreme wing of the Republican party controlling their conference,” Hoyer said.

Live Updates From Inside the Chaos: House Speaker’s Race Heating Up as Donor Class Tries To Draft Paul Ryan

Friday Stein tweeted that Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL)
“says Paul Ryan would be a good Speaker and work w/ Dems. Then says he probably just hurt Ryan’s chances by saying that.”
Gutierrez and Ryan have worked together in the past, notably on comprehensive immigration reform.

In that pursuit, in 2013 Gutierrez said he saw Ryan as his “ally” in fighting for amnesty for illegal immigrants.

Gingrich open to return to Speakership

“If you were to say to me 218 have called you up and given you their pledge, obviously no citizen could ever turn down that kind of challenge,” Gingrich said, as first reported by the Washington Free Beacon.
He compared the scenario to George Washington coming out of retirement to become America’s first president.
“This is why George Washington came out of retirement — because there are moments you can’t avoid,” Gingrich said.

MEDIA FAIL: PP body parts trafficking story

Following the release of the explosive undercover video revealing Planned Parenthood callously sells fetal body parts to the highest bidder, Fox News Special Report aired a full report hosted by Bret Baier.

Despite the fact that Planned Parenthood receives millions in taxpayer moneys every year, ABC,CBS, CNN, and MSNBC ignored the story completely. NBC’s Today gave it all of 39 seconds.

LA Governor Bobby Jindal and U.S. House of Representatives Majority Leader John Boehner have called for investigations of Planned Parenthood. Boehner also urged President Obama to “denounce, and stop, these gruesome practices.”

Yeah, THAT’s likely to happen. ::sarcsnort::

Consequences and the lack thereof

2015_04 23 Petraeus fined

Petraeus’ story convinces me even more that RINOs like those who just flipped and voted to confirm the contemptible Loretta Lynch as AG aren’t willingly complicit; they are being blackmailed. I mean … who can look at Boehner’s face here and believe he WANTS to cooperate with Obamacrats?

Boehner glares at Obama

I remember watching bewildered as Petraeus rolled over for Obama. But it seemed like one day he got told to do something that was a bridge too far for this flawed, but fundamentally honorable and patriotic man.  And then, suddenly, all the dirt about his mistress was public knowledge, his reputation was ruined, and he was indicted.

Meanwhile, corruptocrats like Harry Reid and Hillary Clinton skate along, committing felonies, lying, stealing, ruining reputations, killing and getting people killed, without consequences.  It’s not even a secret!  But it seems as if those in the media and the GOP who have the clout to do something about them just do … nothing.

Kevin DuJan always said it was SOP for Democrats to keep dirt files on everybody … Democrats and Republicans … and that so long as you did what the Democrats wanted, the dirt stayed in the vault. It is the only sensible explanation for why some of these people have done such absurd things.

Remember how Hillary Clinton was an out-spoken supporter of the Iraq War, then suddenly she was claiming Bush had lied (which he hadn’t) and the Iraq War was eeeeeeeeevil? And remember how Nancy Pelosi, who had witnessed a demonstration of waterboarding and voted to approve its use on three Gitmo detainees, was suddenly screaming that the horrible the Bush administration was waterboarding people?

Come on! I realize these people aren’t rocket scientists, but even they aren’t that dumb. Okay, Maxine Waters probably is that dumb, but Clinton, Pelosi and Reid aren’t. Corrupt, yes. But not flat out, brain dead, islands-can-tip-over stupid. Harry Reid is perfectly well aware that his statements on the Senate floor are recorded, yet he says something one day and the very next week says he never said that? And he doesn’t get censured? And the media doesn’t crucify him?  Puh-leeze.

I get a couple lessons out of all this. One is that while we elected a Republican majority, most of the newbies are too junior to have much clout and a majority of the old guard have Obamacrat leashes on their backbones. The other lesson is that those Republicans who do have clout and who are standing up to the Obamacrat machine are as squeaky clean as Mitt Romney (who pays his taxes) and Sarah Palin (who buys her own clothes).

Texas Rep. Louis Gohmert Announces Challenge to Speaker Boehner

G4After what Rep. Gohmert (R-TX) calls “years of broken promises” by Republican leadership in Congress, fiscal conservatives and Tea Party Republicans in the US House of Representatives may finally have a chance to get a more like-minded Speaker of the House. The vote in the US House will happen on Tuesday, and many conservative leaders, like FreedomWorks President Matt Kibbe, quoted Sunday by The Hill, are strongly encouraging Republican voters to call their representatives and ask them to vote for an alternative to Boehner, like Gohmert or Rep. Ted Yoho (R-FL), who has also announced his candidacy:

Speaker Boehner has kicked fiscal conservatives off committee positions for voting against his wishes, caved on numerous massive spending bills at the eleventh hour, and abused the legislative process to stomp out opposition by holding surprise votes and giving members little time to actually read the bills before they vote.

I’ve been spending time tonight emailing my representative, and I plan to call tomorrow, as well.  If you don’t know who your representative is, please go to the Congressional Website HERE and click on your state.  Please make your wishes known.

Rob Reiner is painfully ignorant.

“You look at the Congress right now in the United States. You’ve got a strong tea-party group controlling the whole country, because they have a gridlock, they have a gridlock stranglehold on [Republican House Speaker John] Boehner,” Reiner said. “Boehner can’t make a move, and so for that reason, nothing gets brought up in the Congress.”

Rob Reiner exposes his ignorance

Reiner is painfully ignorant. As of August 2, 2014, the House of Representatives under Majority Leader John Boehner has passed 356 bills, much of it with key support from House Democrats.

These bills would tackle problems associated with job creation, health care, energy production and a host of other issues. They are all languishing in the Senate, because Senate Majority Leader, Democrat Harry Reid, refuses to bring any of them to the floor for discussion or vote.

While Reid and the mindless Democrat Sheeple (e.g., Rob “Baa Baa” Reiner) blame the “do nothing Congress” on the GOP and/or the Tea Party, the FACT is that the gridlock is due entirely to the Democrat leadership.

The following is from the August 4, 2014 Washington Post, a newspaper long known for its sympathy for Democrats:

The Senate has not voted on jobs bills sent by the House, any “fix” for Obamacare or a domestic energy development bill. The Senate will not take up a real vote on the Keystone XL pipeline. It will not take up Iran sanctions.

It did pass Veterans Affairs legislation and Iron Dome funding, not exactly difficult votes. Other than that, not much of consequence has gone on in the Senate, but not because of Republican objections.

The GOP would love to take up many of these subjects, debate them and offer amendments; it is Reid who either won’t take up meaty issues or won’t allow any minority amendments, a practice he has taken further than any modern Senate leader. …

In essence, the Senate has become an adjunct of the White House. Reid’s side comes up with no innovative (or even non-innovative) initiatives of its own and doesn’t allow any from the GOP.

Lerner forgot to delete some of her email …

… and it wasn’t pretty. In them, she expressed a deep and personal loathing for the same right-wingers her IRS division targeted for harassment, calling them a**holes and terrorists who would bring the country down.

IRS heck yes

In the video below, Rep. Gowdy referenced these email during his questioning of a law professor about the need for a Special Counsel to investigate the IRS. This particular professor has previously called the House Majority Leader, Republican John Boehner, an “embarrassing loser.”

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee’s Staff Threatens Taxpayer For Asking About Her Impeachment Claims

Congressional approval ratings are at a historic low, and after what has happened over the course of the last twenty four hours – I can see why. On the House floor Wednesday, longtime Democrat Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee made the startling claim that “We did not seek an impeachment of President Bush, because as an executive, he had the authority.”

These are the moments when you say “Really?”

The problem here is that Rep. Lee lied to the American People inside the People’s House. Good thing for her that when you make speeches on the floor of the House of Representatives you are not under oath or under the threat of perjury. Perhaps that should change, but that’s another debate for another day.

Lied? Well back in 2008, Rep. Lee co-sponsored House Resolution 1258 entitled “Impeaching George W. Bush, President of the United States, of high crimes and misdemeanors. “

Today I called her Washington office to see if perhaps I was confused, and the representative from Houston was telling the truth. When reaching her D.C. congressional office, I asked the nice lady who answered the phone if she knew of the contradiction and could help my confusion. After clearly saying she was not speaking for the congresswoman, when asked about the fact there was a contradiction, she said “We are aware that the congresswoman has made contradicting statements in her remarks on the floor.”

When I pressed, and asked “Not as a representative but just as someone I am talking to, isn’t the fact that she said one thing in 2008 that is totally opposite of what she said yesterday – isn’t that really a lie?” The answer, honest but shocking, was “Yes I think that is a lie.” (Note the quotes are from memory, I didn’t anticipate that I would need to get them on record but I sure wish I had.)

That was startling. I asked to speak to someone in the office to register my thoughts on a congresswoman lying on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives. From there, it got crazy but not as crazy, and then a little crazier.

I was transferred to a gentleman on Lee’s staff. When I again asked him about the contradiction and stated that perhaps I was confused, the man said “Oh look it here, we have one of those right wing, tea-bagger nut jobs on the phone taking his cues from FOX News.”

He then accused me of being un-American, raising his voice at me while asking me to calm down, and telling me that I am just on some mission to destroy our country. When I calmly asked for his name, he said “I don’t have to give it to you because I don’t want to show up on some right wing blog and be on your Twitter account.” Keep in mind, I never said who I was – he just made assumptions and attacked me. When I reminded him that he gets paid by our tax dollars, he said “I doubt you even pay taxes and the IRS will find you soon enough,” and hung up on me.

Ignore him, please!

2014 Ignore him please

In the past 48 hours, the Obama White House has joined the Democratic fundraising apparatus in what appears to be a campaign to encourage Republicans to impeach the president. House Speaker John Boehner says it’s all a Democrat scam to boost fund-raising.

“We have no plans to impeach the president.”

For once, I agree with Boehner. I think the worst thing we can do to the Narcissist-in-Chief is to IGNORE him. Let’s just get on with things as if he were exactly what he’s made himself … irrelevant.

423 babies have been saved during the latest 40 Days for Life

A visually impaired radio journalist attended Pope Francis’ address to the media last Saturday. Accompanying him was his guide dog, a yellow Labrador Retriever named Asia. After the speech, the pope ask the reporter and his dog to come meet him. Pope Francis chatted with the reporter, who asked the pope for a blessing for his wife and daughter. Pope Francis also gave a special blessing to the dog, which is fitting. He named himself after St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals. 🙂

Speaking of animals … methinks the GOP doesn’t have a race problem so much as a species problem. The RINO species to be specific … like this pair of Dumb and Dumber.

Leftist dilemma: Whether or not to raise hell over how much the Satan in The History Channel’s The Bible series looks like a certain somebody. You know they want to (what with raising hell being their fave sport 365/24/7) … but doing so would give increased notoriety to and therefore free advertising for the series itself. What to do? What to do!

TWEET (tweeter’s gravatar shows a black woman): If you weren’t offended when Obama was been depicted as Jesus Christ, then spare me your outrage that an actor playing Satan looks like him.

ICYMI: At CPAC, Steven Crowder pointed out that the repugnant Ashley Judd had tweeted … from her iPhone no less … that Apple customers are financing “mass rape.”  The lying liars who lie in the media reported this as: “Fox News reporter cracks Ashley Judd rape joke at CPAC.”  Libtard heads exploded across virtual space cuz, you know, “Rape is nothing to laugh about!” (I’m guessing it’s still okay to wish it on Conservatives though.)

Some articles worth reading in toto:

The “ignorant” Cruz clobbers Feinstein, MSNBC by james2813 – March 17, 2013

  • If you have any interest in politics (and you don’t live under a rock) you have seen the emotional confrontation between Senator Ted Cruz of Texas and Senator Dianne Feinstein of California. Libs and the media (but I repeat myself) have been dumping on Cruz for his “abrasive tone”, but the fact is, Cruz clobbered Liberals and Feinstein so badly that it’s laughable.

The Unions vs. Obamacare: Disenchantment sets in By Mark Hemingway – Mar 25, 2013

  • Obama said, ‘If you like your health plan, you can keep it.’ NOT. Unions were big supporters of Obamacare, but they may be among the hardest hit and they’re starting to wake up and smell the burned coffee.

Tell us what you REALLY think, Dan!

Today’s blog by Dan Bubalo is kinda long, but replete with outstanding snark. In the interests of giving y’all a snort or two, without wasting a lot of your time reading stuff you already agree with, I’ve parsed and pruned out the best. I also added ‘toons. N.b., You should now stop eating and drinking, as it is very uncomfortable to snort stuff out your nose and it makes a mess on your keyboard besides.

During the foofaraw of last week’s “coronation”, Michelle Obama wolfed down food in a way that sparked wonder whether the finest meal she’d ever had previously was at Popeye’s Fried Chicken. Her demeanor was as an affront to horses everywhere and certainly didn’t pass muster with the someone who fancies herself queen. She has yet to utter the phrase, “Let them eat cake,” but only because she intends to hoard it all for herself.

2013_01 21 Prez Nose Picks while First Lady yearns for cake

Meanwhile, Hill The Shill transformed herself into Hill The Shrill during Congressional Foreign Relations hearings on the Benghazi rapes and assassinations, screeching at congressmen that, no matter how guilty and irresponsible one’s actions are, all one must ask rhetorically is “What difference, at this point, does it make?” and away go troubles down the drain.

2013_01 26 Hill the Shrill by Henry Payne

She is bereft of conscience, lies as a condition of her existence, has a litany of unethical practices attached to her legal career, and pulls out the wronged-woman routine on cue every time her feet are held to the fire. What’s worse, she’s now added the evasiveness and unsoundness of mind one normally sees during the onset of Alzheimer’s. The fact she was clad so conspicuously in a shade of green notably associated with Islam made me want to pull an Elvis and destroy my TV.

2013_01 24 What difference by Gary Varvel

And in the center ring of this circus stands President Obama, who delivered an inauguration speech of which Nikita Khrushchev would have been proud, not only for its anti-American, anti-capitalism and inflammatory tenor but its wide-ranging bellicosity, replete with knitted eyebrow scowl and flaring nostrils. The only thing he forgot to do was bang the podium with his shoe.

2013_01 23 Big Govt by Jerry Holbert

We now know the name of Obama’s songbook: “Communism Unplugged” and it’s available at news outlets everywhere. It is a blend of hypocrisy, wrapped in lunacy, and leading the parade is a president so overtly consumed with malice toward Christian and American values that it emanates from his pores like sarin gas.

2013_01 24 Obama the Disunifier by Henry Payne

According to Speaker Boehner, President Obama told him, “We don’t have a spending problem. We have a health care problem.” Cue the Twilight Zone theme. That’s right, Mr. President. If you can’t fix it with a hammer, it must be an electrical problem. Fearless Leader obviously believes in gnomes and Big Foot, and I’m not referring to the Michelle this time.
