Obamacare: Punishing Charity

End of Life czar

There is no doubt in my mind that Obama Democrats are serving an agenda spawned in the depths of Hell.

A new provision in Section 501 of the Internal Revenue Code which takes effect under Obamacare establishes FINES for hospitals treating uninsured patients.

Approximately 60 percent of American hospitals are currently nonprofit.

Audio recording of a real Obamacare help line call [14,26]

QUOTE from Obamacare help line (begins at about 5:00 in to this phone call recording): “The Affordable Care Act requires that most people maintain health insurance. … In 2014 [the fee for failing to buy and maintain health insurance] is 1% of your yearly income or $95 per person for the year, whichever is higher. Uninsured children would be $47.50 per child … The most any family would have to pay is $285, but the amount will go up after 2014. … In 2015, the fee per person rises to $325 per person or $975 per family or 2% of income, whichever is higher. … For 2016, the fee per person increases to $695 or $2,085 per family or 2.5% of your household income, whichever is higher. … From 2017 on, the fee will rise each year with inflation.”

Obamacare TAX for not having insurance

NOTE: He keeps calling this thing a “fee”, but the Supreme Court ruled that it’s really a TAX … a TAX levied on any American who refuses to purchase and maintain a health insurance policy that meets the federal standards. (Please note: These standards include paying for abortion.) That’s all it is. A punishment for NOT buying something you DON’T want. Paying the fee won’t get you health coverage.

Obamacare Before and After

So … “let me answer your jail question real quick ……………….. pause ………………… there are no liens or penalties for not paying the fee.”

What a relief. They’ll just put a lien on future overpayment of taxes. This presumes the guy is not lying or they don’t change the rules. SCOTUS said the Obamacare fee is a LEGAL TAX. The IRS can levy fees, fines and liens for non-payment of tax. Therefore, all they have to do is say, “Oops, we didn’t realize this was a tax when we wrote this ‘no liens or penalties’ blah blah, so now there will be.” In this case then the IRS would be empowered to suck out and freeze your bank accounts, confiscate your property and/or send you to jail.

All it would take is a slight change to the regs.

Just like the “slight change” they made when they went from “Oh no WAY will Obamacare force people to pay for abortion” (Executive Order by Prez Obama) to “Everybody will pay for abortion” (HHS Mandate by HHS Sec Sebelius)

The UNaffordable Care Act

Under Obamacare, Americans are going to:

  • pay more for health care,
  • have more limited health care options,
  • be subjected to much more paperwork.

Those who choose not to participate are going to be hit with punitive fines … I mean, TAXES … which is what SCOTUS ruled the IRS will be collecting from all those deadbeat taxpayers who try not to contribute Their Fair Share toward providing free birth control, abortions and gender changes to non-taxpaying deadbeats, illegals, sluts, and welfare queens (and kings).

Health care - duct tape

Besides all that, the Obamacare online system functions so poorly that less than 1% of all visitors have successfully signed up for health insurance. In California and Connecticut, the rate is under a half a percent.

Freedom Post collected it’s top 21 faves of the comments that have been posted on the official Healthcare.gov Facebook page so far…

21. “I am so disappointed. These prices are outrageous and there are huge deductibles. No one can afford this!”

20. “Good grief. Day three of trying and still can’t get on this website. The government KNEW about this thing going live for two years. TWO YEARS! And this is the best they could do? I shudder to think what’s going to happen once they are in control of my healthcare. They can’t even get their website functioning properly. If my business had rolled out a piece of crap that worked like this I’d be out of business.”

19. “How is it that Facebook, which is a non-essential social networking web site, can reliably handle BILLIONS of electronic interactions per second, but the Healthcare.gov site, which is literally the very heart of the Obamacare program wasn’t ready for the obvious millions of visitors that you had to know it would be receiving?”

18. “i’m just going to stop even bothering for a couple weeks or so … once the fervor dies down, hopefully I’ll be able to actually create an account!”

17. “The Federal Gov’t has ruined everything it has gotten involved in, does anybody really expect this healthcare disaster to be any different? Sorry, I’ll take the asinine fine.”

16. “And yet another day and several tries I once again keep getting nothing but a completely blank page after I log in. The top tab says ‘Successful URL’. Oh how ironic.”

15. “Didn’t these Feds ever have mothers that told them not to lie? Maybe they were raised in the wild. This system is trash. I can’t verify my identity or upload documents. Also what’s with Experian verifying ID’s? Don’t care for that at all.”

14. “I am a single mother of two, in school and working full time, living 75% below the poverty level and I DO NOT qualify for a healthcare subsidy”

13. “the website can’t verify my identity…the people at the experian verification number can’t verify my identity either….i tried to upload a scan of my driver’s license, and that won’t work either……very annoying process…….I’ve wasted 3 days on this junk.”

12. “if you’re stupid enough to put all your banking information in to the federal governments computers you are definitely part of the problem”

11. “Where the HELL am I supposed to get $3,000 more a year to pay for this “bronze” health insurance plan!?!??? And I DO NOT EVEN WANT INSURANCE to begin with!! This is frightening.”

10. “I have one question. What happens if I can’t afford the Affordable Health Care that you are cramming down my throat? I just ran your calculator, and if it is even close to accurate, I will have a choice…..I can pay my rent and buy groceries, or I can pay the health care premiums, move out into the streets and live under a bridge somewhere, and go hungry! Can I please get one of those exemption things that the President and Congress got?”

9. “I’ve been stuck at the security questions since 9am on October 1st”

8. “Death Panels. Yes. The red plan. It’s affordable. And painless!”

7. “Here in Austin, TX have gotten to login screen three times today, wait is getting shorter, but am still getting a blank screen after getting a quick ‘authenticating, please wait’ message at top left of screen, then nothing but a blank white page and no indication that the browser is waiting for the server to do anything. Attempts to refresh the screen sends me back to the please wait screen.”

6. “I finally got past the security question problem, got my account, my verification email, and when I went to log in, it said the information was invalid.”

5. “I want to know how I am expected to pay $300+ for this and still pay my bills when the only income is $710 a month from my husband’s SSI? Am i supposed to lose my home and water and electricity or go to jail because I can’t afford this?”

4. “Government forces people to pay a new tax. People click on website to see how much this new tax will cost them. Website crashes in the first hour. Government calls it a huge success.”

3. “I work a minimum wage job…how the heck can I afford health insurance and if the company doesn’t give full time? I am so angry right now…. I share housing with others because I can’t afford my own place… how do you expect people to afford Obamacare if they barely get by from paycheck to paycheck????? I can’t afford a fine either! I think you are obligated to give the American people an answer and an explanation!”

2. “Y’all can kiss my butt. You got that? You want my bank account? I’ll close it. You put a lien on my house? Take it…and the mortgage too. Some things are worth fighting for, and freedom is one of them! I am sick and tired of the redistribution strategies of this socialist country and having my wages STOLEN to pay for them!”

1. The best comment was posted by a man named Will Sheehan with type 1 diabetes who was initially very excited to sign up for Obamacare. But what he discovered while trying to sign up was absolutely horrifying …

I actually made it through this morning at 8:00 A.M. I have a preexisting condition (Type 1 Diabetes) and my income base was 45K-55K annually. I chose tier 2 “Silver Plan” and my monthly premiums came out to $597.00 with $13,988 yearly deductible!!! There is NO POSSIBLE way that I can afford this so I “opt-out” and chose to continue along with no insurance.

I received an email tonight at 5:00 P.M. informing me that my fine would be $4,037 and could be attached to my yearly income tax return. Then you make it to the “REPERCUSSIONS PORTION” for “non-payment” of yearly fine. First, your driver’s license will be suspended until paid, and if you go 24 consecutive months with “Non-Payment” and you happen to be a home owner, you will have a federal tax lien placed on your home. You can agree to give your bank information so that they can easy “Automatically withdraw” your “penalties” weekly, bi-weekly or monthly! This by no means is “Free” or even “Affordable.”

“Phony” scandals?

Please lecture us about phony scandals

No matter how “phony” Obama may believe the Benghazi, IRS, (etc. etc. etc.) scandals are or how biased his lapdog media is in reporting on them, the American public can tell that Democrats are doing a crap job in Washington.

Before the federal government can pass a law, it must be passed by both the House of Representatives and the Senate, then signed by the President. At any given time, 2/3 or 3/3 are controlled by either Republicans or Democrats. The dominant controlling party obviously has the most power over what laws get passed and thus bears the majority of the responsibility for how well the government serves the people.

As you can see from this graphic, trust in government has been strongly correlated with which party this is. When Democrats have been in control, trust has fallen and distrust has risen. When Republicans have been in control, the opposite has been true.

Note: The dominant 2/3 or 3/3 party is in pale colors under the poll results. The breakdown is in dark colors at the bottom.

The Left: Providing moral cover for immoral behavior

Liberalism Makes It Easier to be Bad By Dennis Prager

http://www.bernardgoldberg.com/liberalism-makes-it-easier-to-be-bad/

There are many liberals who lead thoroughly decent lives. And there are conservatives who do not.

But that is not the whole issue.

There is something about liberalism that is not nearly as true about conservatism. The further left one goes, the more one finds that the ideology provides moral cover for a life that is not moral. While many people left of center lead fine personal lives, many do not. And left-wing ideals enable a person to do that much more than conservative ideals do.

There is an easy way to demonstrate this.

If a married — or even unmarried — conservative congressman had texted sexual images of himself to young women he did not even know, he would have been called something Anthony Wiener has not been called — a hypocrite.

Why? Because conservatives — secular conservatives, not only religious conservatives — are identified with moral values in the personal sphere, and liberals are not. Liberals rarely called Bill Clinton a hypocrite for his extramarital affair while president. George W. Bush would have been pilloried as such.

Simply put, we do not generally judge personal conduct the same when it comes to liberals and conservatives.

Both liberals and conservatives know this. As a result, as noted, liberal social positions can provide moral cover for immoral behavior in a way that conservative positions cannot.

Though there are many sincere liberals, it is likely that this ability to provide moral cover for a less than moral life is one source of liberalism’s appeal.

I first thought about this when I saw how the left-wing students at my graduate school, Columbia University, behaved. Aside from their closing down classes, taking over office buildings, and ransacking professors’ offices, I saw the way in which many of them conducted themselves in their personal lives. Most of them had little sense of personal decency, and lived lives of narcissistic hedonism. Women who were involved with leftist groups have told of how poorly they were treated. And one suspects that they would have been treated far better by conservative, let alone religious, men on campus.

My sense was that the radicals’ commitment to “humanity,” to “peace,” and to “love” gave them license to feel good about themselves without having to lead a good life. Their vocal opposition to war and to racism provided them with all the moral self-esteem they wanted.

Consider the example of the late Sen. Edward M. Kennedy. He had been expelled from college for paying someone to take his exams. His role in the death of a woman with whom he spent an evening would have sent almost anyone without his family name to prison — or would have at least resulted in prosecution for negligent homicide. And he spent decades using so many women in so public a way that stories about his sex life were routinely told in Washington. Read the 9,000-word 1990 article in GQ by Michael Kelly, who a few years later became the editor of the New Republic.

When this unimpressive man started espousing liberal positions, speaking passionately about the downtrodden in society, it recalled the unimpressive students who marched on behalf of civil rights, peace and love.

It is quite likely that Ted Kennedy came to believe in the positions that he took. But I also suspect that he found espousing those positions invaluable to his self-image and to his public image: “Look at what a moral man I am after all.” And liberal positions were all that mattered to the left and to the liberal media that largely ignored such lecherous behavior as the “waitress sandwich” he made in a Washington, D.C. restaurant with another prominent liberal, former Senator Chris Dodd.

In addition to knowing that liberal positions provide moral cover for immoral personal behavior, liberals know that their immoral behavior will be given more of pass than exactly the same behavior would if done by a conservative.

Women’s groups provided Bill Clinton with enormous moral capital because he supported their feminist agenda. One leading feminist famously said she would be happy to get on her knees and pleasure Clinton thanks to his pro-choice position on abortion.

Conservative politicians have the same sex drive as liberal politicians, the same marital problems and the same ubiquitous temptations and opportunities. And some will therefore engage in extramarital sex. But every conservative politician knows that should he be caught, his positions on issues not only do not provide moral cover for his conduct, those very positions condemn it. There is no benefit to the conservative sinner in being a conservative. There is great benefit to the liberal sinner in being a liberal.

Sequestration, my Aunt Fanny

It wasn’t so very long ago that the Obama administration was very loudly and pointedly agonizing over the dreadful impact that the sequestration-imposed, across-the-board budget cuts were going to have on both the economy and the federal government’s ability to perform some of its basic functions.

Since all his bullshit hand-wringing, he has by-passed Congress, which is supposed to be in charge of his salary and benefits, and granted himself a substantial raise via executive order. He and his family just got back from Ireland and will shortly be leaving on a trip to Africa that is reportedly going to cost Americans $100 million. And, just to add insult to injury, employees of the IRS that targeted Obama’s political enemies during his second presidential campaign will soon be receiving $70 million in bonuses!

Megyn Kelly goes weasel hunting

McDermott blamed the victims of IRS targeting and used terms like “circus” and “political theater” about Republicans objecting to the IRS doing the dirty for Obama.

According to him, “The real question is how to fix it.” You have to DIAGNOSE the CAUSE first, dontchathink?

Here’s my question: “Who ordered this and why did the IRS agents cooperate?”

Gleanings from Twitchy:

  • Boy, did he sound stupid. ‘FIRST I said that what happened to them was wrong, THEN I said it was their own damn fault ! Focus on what I said FIRST, not the fact that I blamed them for it.’
  • Just like Hillary – “What difference does it make now?” The libs want to do whatever they want and not take any responsibility if they are caught.
  • There are only 68 declared members of the Progressive caucus in the House they are all Democrats and 1 declared Progressive in the Senate (Bernie Sanders Vermont self described Socialist). They are the minority of the Democrat party but they control the leadership. They are why all of these scandals have taken place. They are who the President of the U.S. has referred to as the “professional left”.
  • I’m getting tired of hearing the word “targeted”. The IRS did a little bit better than “target”. They HIT over and over.
  • I thought we couldn’t use the word targeted after the Giffords shooting?

Sinful

The Internal Revenue Service spent MILLIONS of taxpayer dollars on its 2010 conference. The budget included mega bucks for CRAP like event planners’ commissions, speakers’ fees, prizes and parody videos.

IRS vs Military

A group committed to defending traditional marriage has proof the IRS leaked their donor list to groups committed to legalizing gay marriage. Some donors to groups supporting traditional marriage have received death threats and envelopes containing a powdery white substance, and their businesses have been boycotted.

iowahawk tweets – The IRS still has its defenders. And Charles Manson still has groupies.

Yeah.

At the hearings, Congressman Jim McDermott blamed the victims for being targeted by the IRS. Paul Ryan cleared the air. Video embedded @ http://www.ijreview.com/2013/06/57020-paul-ryan-hammers-jim-mcdermott-for-blaming-irs-scandal-on-tea-party/

Tea Party bashing IRS head’s wife is Leftie activist

Remember when Fancy Nancy tried to blame Bush for the IRS scandal, cuz IRS head Doug Shulman had been appointed by Bush?

I mentioned earlier that Shulman is a Democrat who had donated to Democrats when Bush ran for re-election, so imagine my surprise (not) to learn that his wife, Susan L. Anderson, is not just a Democrat, but a flaming left-wing activist.

Keep in mind that:

NO left-wing nonprofits were investigated by the IRS, only right-wing. In fact, leftie groups got their nonprofit status rushed through with five-star service. In some cases, they were even given retroactive status to help with past tax issues.

IRS chief Shulman has visited the White House 157 times. His predecessor, under Bush, visited once. But I’m so sure we should totes believe him when he says nothing nefarious was going on during all his numerous schmoozy pow-wows. Cuz like, he’s a liberal and they never lie. Right?

And I’m so sure it means NUTHINK that IRS guys WIFE is the senior program advisor for the Washington-based nonprofit organization Public Campaign, which is funded by the Ford Foundation, Common Cause Education Fund, The Streisand Foundation, AFL-CIO, AFSCME, SEIU, and Move On, which is funded by George Soros. Oh, and their office is on the same floor as Common Cause and the Center for Progressive Leadership. But you know … no biggie, right?

And really … just cuz she hangs out at and encourages others to come participate in Occupy protests …

2011_12 06 IRS head's wife pimping for Occupy

… and the Obama campaign organization, Obama for America

2012_11 04 IRS head's wife worked for OFA

… and talked smack about Karl Rove’s American Crossroads, the group whose confidential documents were leaked by the IRS to the left-wing group ProPublica.

2012_11 09 IRS head's wife smacks Rove

… nothing to see here, folks! There’s no evidence that Anderson improperly influenced her husband, Shulman, who was a George W. Bush appointee. So CLEARLY, if the IRS did something bad, it was Bush’s Fault.

NEVER MIND that IRS guy’s wife, Susan L. Anderson, was a PROLIFIC tweeter up until May 12, 2013 ….. when ….. ummm … what was it happened around then?

Didja catch her twitter handle … @slandersonwdc. SLANDER? Really? What a shock. Not.
