We need serious people for serious problems

Stilton Jarlsberg had a thoughtful commentary about finding the middle ground between Obama’s head in the sand policies and the exploding head diatribes of Donald Trump.

“There is room – and necessity – for our nation to find the middle ground between Barack Hussein Obama’s denials and Donald Trump’s bellicose bombast. It is time – indeed, well past time – for all of this to be dealt with seriously, by serious people.

“A personal sidebar: today, I had lunch in a McDonald’s which is very near a large mosque in our neighborhood. It wasn’t crowded inside, and I took note of the other people who were there. The staffers behind the counter were happily speaking to each other in Spanish. A woman wearing a headscarf was eating and looking at a video on her computer (I admit it – I looked to see if it was a “how to” on building “clocks,” but it appeared to be a soap opera). Nearby, two Asian men chatted in what I presume was Chinese. And the McDonald’s itself was nicely decorated for Christmas (by name) and, despite being next door to a mosque, advertising the distinctly non-Halal McRib.

“As we were leaving, I held the door for a young mother wearing a head scarf as she entered while Mrs. Jarlsberg helped guide the woman’s baby stroller through the door. The woman smiled and thanked us.

“There’s no big punchline to this story, other than that everyone was getting along just fine. At a McDonald’s. And it made me wish that we could all take a deep breath and turn down the nonsensical rhetoric a bit on both sides. Not closing our eyes to very real dangers; just remembering that keeping our eyes open should have rewards which go beyond surveillance.”

You know who they didn’t laugh at? George W. Bush. He was a serious man who handled the serious GWOT problem with prayerful leadership. He made tough decisions and dealt with the inevitable criticisms gracefully. In the end, we won the War in Iraq.  Then, President Kumbaya swanned into office, removed our troops prematurely, and handed the whole region over to ISIS.

WHEN THE ROMANCE COOLS

Without them, he’d be just a community-organizing Chicago street hustler with a white education. He is a rare case of someone who has had everything in life handed to him through the sacrifice of others while he has done virtually nothing but reap the benefits. He has shown his gratitude to everyone who sacrificed for him by turning and farting in their faces… with one exception: his Iranian-born Rasputin, committed muslim and slumlord, Valerie Jarrett.

His army of media whores fell passionately in love with him when he read the keynote speech at the Democrat convention in 2004. I hadn’t seen a reaction to a speech like that since David Brinkley fairly shot a wad in his trousers over Mario Cuomo’s speech at a similar venue years earlier. The media whores hoisted the young biracial Kenyan posing as an American on their shoulders and carried him to the presidency, never allowing anyone to broadcast any hint of what and who he really was.
The Republican nominee even accomodated him by turning on his own VP running mate and allowing him to walk into the presidency where the palace guards stood, protecting him from any criticism whatever.

But all the media could not save him from losing first the House, then four years later the Senate, as the concerned citizens of America watched him ignore the constitution and set himself up as the arbiter of all things.

They helped him get reelected by savaging anyone they deemed a real threat to his power. Vote-rigging and blatant fraud also helped. The nanosecond he won the office for the second time he dropped what little facade he ever showed of caring about anything but his own authority and the benefits of the office.

It was hardly noticeable at first, but eventually some of his devotees started criticizing his ham-handed way of ruling what he saw as his serfdom. Now, even Mr. “tingle up my leg” Matthews and “kind of like a god” Thomas can be a little critical. It seems like a lover who no longer has much interest and is eyeing another to enter into an intimate relationship. Still, they are a possessive lover who will protect their old flame as long as it suits their cause.

After the disastrous address he read from the Oval Office, they felt free to say some negative things about their old flame, as if most of the country hadn’t had the revelation long ago.

Panel Destroys “Out of Touch” Obama Over Failed ISIS Strategy, Refusal to Use Term Islamic Extremism

Longtime CNN anchor John King called the President “deeply out of touch,” argued he should be taking a tougher tone and slammed the administration for failing to mention Islamic extremism as part of the problem. Other panelists piled on Democrats as a whole for being all over the map with their response to the attack.

WHOA: Popular Egyptian TV host says Obama should be tried and then ‘sat on an impalement rod’
Egyptian TV’s Ahmed Moussa gave a blistering rant aimed at Obama for being an ally of terrorists, calling him a liar and saying he should be put on trial and then executed by being forced to sit on an impalement rod. Yikes!

He points out that his beef is not with the American people, who he says are very respectful, but with Obama who said just days before the San Bernardino terrorist attack that there is no threat to American citizens. He called Obama a liar again and said that all allies of terrorism are liars.

The Wages of Stupidity

2014122707putin-pThat would be: Humiliation and Death, in that order.  Let’s not be naive, America.  We will get both those things, in our turn, as the direct result of our stupidity in bringing our current leadership to power.  Right now, Europe and Syria are experiencing most of the death, but our fate has already been sealed.

Today marked a huge step forward in that direction.  We already have enough ISIS sympathizers who hate America within the borders of our country to guarantee that more of our buildings will fall and more blood will be spilt on our soil by “Allahu Akbar”-shouting retards.  We are already in a de facto war with China – one made worse every day as our President sends B-52s (of all things, the planes that deliver nuclear ordnance) over China’s man-made islands for some inscrutable reason or no reason at all.  We will soon find ourselves in a not-so-cold war with Russia because of our insane actions in the Middle East.  Tyler Durden of Zero Hedge points out why today’s events are much more than a conflict between Moscow and Ankara:

So just to be clear on what’s happened here in case the gravity of the situation is somehow lost on anyone, a NATO member from whose airbase the US is flying combat missions, just shot down a Russian fighter jet and the US-backed, al-Qaeda aligned FSA has released not one, but two videos depicting their fighters dancing over the body of a dead Russian pilot while shouting “Allahu Akbar” and holding up the “we’re number one” hand signal.

But that’s not all.  Mere hours from when these disgusting videos were released by our “allies” and probably viewed repeatedly by Putin until he could shoot blood out of his eyes, Syrian rebels shot down a Russian helicopter using a US-made missile that we gave them.

Meanwhile the man who has got us into this mess is crowing about going forward with a climate change summit in Paris, as if that will save the world.  He should probably pay some attention to those who are calling today a Sarajevo Moment of the Next World War.  We have more to fear now than just pegging the absurdity meter in our national dialogue.  We have wages to collect, Brothers and Sisters.  Not because we’re evil.  We’re not.  It’s because we’re stupid.

Unhinged

When COMPASSION is unhinged from PRUDENCE, it becomes DANGEROUS.

The Islamic State (ISIS) has made no secret of its intention to infiltrate refugee groups and several U.S. intelligence experts and officials have admitted that there is no effective vetting system.

Individual Muslim refugees may be good and peaceful people, but their culture inclines toward intolerance and violence.

  • In European refugee camps, Christian refugees have had to be taken to separate facilities because of repeated attacks on them by Muslim refugees.
  • After the Paris attacks, someone tried to hold an anti-jihad rally. Only 30 Muslims showed up.
  • At a soccer game, a moment of silence for the Paris victims was disrupted by people booing and yelling “Allahu Akbar.”
  • After the 9/11 attacks, Palestinian Muslims danced in the streets in celebration.

Sadly, I believe we are long past the point of having a government capable of crafting and enforcing a prudent immigration policy.

Even worse, since our borders have been leaking for years, I believe many jihadist sleeper cells are already in place here and abroad, awaiting the “go” order to inflict massive damage.

EPIC FAIL: Barack Obama is a terrible president

In the first two videos below, note Obama’s flat, almost bored, affect when he talks about the Paris terror attacks and about his military strategy for ISIS.  Compare this to his heightened, energized affect in the places where he talks about his political opponents at home.  I think it says a lot about his humanity … or lack thereof.

In the third video, the FOX News panel reports on Obama’s lack of passion, clarity and honesty. Jesse Watters says, “I’m actually surprised. Obama usually golfs and flies to fundraisers after terrorist attacks. This time I think he released five guys from Gitmo and then showed up late for a moment of silence for the victims.”

In the fourth video, President Obama addresses the concerns of those who note that terrorists are undeniably infiltrating other nations by posing as refugees. But rather than honestly speak to these concerns, he ridicules them.

He has a bad habit of attacking straw men (e.g., Republicans are afraid of 3-year olds), rather than honestly and respectfully dealing with facts and people he dislikes. It’s offensive.

  • He never uses the “M” word when talking about extremist Muslims, lest some peaceful Muslims be tarred by association.
  • Yet when it comes to Republicans, Pro-Lifers, Tea Partiers, etc., he is blatantly dishonest about what we believe and why we disagree with him.

In the fifth video, Ted Cruz calls him out on it.

The Reason Western Secularists Don’t Understand ISIS

I have spent a lot of time digesting the Paris news and wondering why the Left seems to be utterly incapable of seeing the true motivations of extremist Muslims.

It’s not like the jihadists don’t tell us exactly why they’re cutting off heads, even as they’re cutting off heads. It’s not like their holy books are not available on-line or like they and their opponents have not published numerous blogs, books, and movies about why they do these awful things.

So how is it that allegedly intelligent people can be so persistently obtuse that they could actually refer to terrorist attacks as “workplace violence” and “man-caused disasters”?

I saw “Not Without My Daughter” then read the book back in 1991. There was nothing in there about poverty or discrimination or unemployment or a lack of education driving this Muslim family to embrace jihad. There was only the story of an Iranian-born doctor who threw away his American medical practice and ultimately lost his family, so he could join his radicalized family back in the Ayatollah’s glorious new Iran.

Today I read a blog that showed me the reason Obama and co. are so damn dumb about ISIS.

What motivates ISIS and its supporters is a sincere, carefully considered commitment to returning civilization to a seventh-century legal environment, and ultimately bringing about the apocalypse.

Actually, a better word than “apocalypse” would be “eschaton,” the end of the present age and the ushering in of what they consider to be the reign of Allah.

Since the secular westerners no longer believes in the Christian eschaton, they cannot even begin to understand the Islamic one.
