The Miracle of the Wolves

This is so cool!  It reminds me of “For want of a nail, the shoe was lost.”  But in reverse.

The “Dirty Jobs” President Keeps His Promises

“My administration has offered a new vision: the well-being of the American citizen and worker will be placed second to none. Since day one I have been fighting for the hardworking people of this country. This week we took historic action to continue delivering on that promise.”

The Passing of an Original

One of the aspects of growing old,I’ve found,is that you can get away with being sarcastic to people and they think you’re kidding.Frank Sinatra discovered Don Rickles while he was doing comedy in night clubs, trying to finance a career as a serious actor. What evolved was a comic, legendary for his sharp-witted barbs at people in the audience. It was all in good fun and no one was offended. He didn’t care about your race, ethnicity or who your daddy was.He made millions doing his act in Las Vegas where patrons all hoped he would pick on them.
He was a regular on the Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts. This was during a time when comedy did not have to depend on toilet humor and sexual innuendo. They were just howlingly funny. One of his favorites was Ronald Reagan…before and after he became president.

Don Rickles: Performing for President Reagan Was the ‘Highlight of My Life’
Comedian Don Rickles, who passed away Thursday at age 90, in May of 2014 told David Letterman, on the Late Show, that “the highlight of my life was doing the Ronald Reagan Inaugural.”

As Ronald and Nancy Reagan sat in the front row, he concluded his five-minute set by praising President Reagan: “You’re a great gentleman and a great credit to the country.” The same could be said about Rickles.

Don Rickles – Some of my favorite Don Rickles moments

I can just see Rickles doing his schtick for Saint Peter:
Hiya,Saint;I’ve been dying to get in here,so here I am!
Nice sandals….Payless or Walmart?
Here I am surrounded by Jews.Which one owns the pawn shop?
I didn’t have change coming through the Pearly Gates…I’ll have to owe you.

It’s early…that’s all I can come up with on short notice.

Oh the Irony!

2017_03 28 NYT 1984 tweet

Tweeters:

  • I don’t think that book means what you think it means.
  • I don’t think hundreds of screens simultaneously playing the same political film is quite the protest vibe Orwell was aiming for.
  • Attendance is voluntary. Failure to attend will be noted in your file.

Mark Dice Exposes News Fakery

Both MSNBC and CNN simultaneously aired different interviews with the same person.  The only problem is that both networks claimed the interviews were LIVE.

So, unless that lady has an identical twin or has mastered the art of bilocation, one or both of these FAKE NEWS outlets lied about the “live” part.

It would hardly be the first time.  Media analyst Mark Dice has the story, plus some flashbacks to other news fakes he’s exposed in the past.

Chaos at Chuck E. Cheese

Anytime you hear about a brawl breaking out at a restaurant, the chances are good that it will be at Chuck E. Cheese. You know, the place for pizza and beer and games for kids to play and compete to win cheap Chinese junk. Some parents will spend $50 or more trying to win a $3 stuffed animal. Therein lies the problem. Most of the miscreants are long on violence and short on intelligence. Any rational person would see how ridiculous this is, but it is a world defined by road rage, bullying and winning by whatever means necessary. Children become what they see as adult behavior. I can recall an occasional scuffle at Golden Corral, but that’s usually two 80-somethings fighting over the last coconut shrimp.

The California Chuck E. Cheese’s where TWO brawls broke out in a WEEK

Two fights broke out at the Chuck E. Cheese’s in Victorville, California, this week.
First fight, filmed by another customer, was apparently over tickets.
Second occurred after grandmother, 51, accidentally pushed another woman.
Grandmother emerged with bloodied face and bald patches.
Children interviewed at the establishment were saddened and unimpressed with the misbehaving adults.

THEY DON’T SHOW PHOTOS OF THE CRIMINALS. THERE’S A REASON. YOU CAN FIGURE IT OUT.

It’s gotten to the point in this country that law-abiding people who simply want to have a good time with their children take a risk going anywhere in public where they can be subjected to the savagery that passes for normal behavior among a large part of the population.

It gets tiresome writing about the cesspool that is Washington, the city of spies, sore losers, and shitheads (couldn’t think of another “S” word).
