THE HAPPY GRUDGE

Posted by Pistol Pete

I don’t usually post on the weekend, but I have a few articles and I’m in a pretty good mood.I skim the headlines while looking for appropriate things to post here, and de-programming myself from politics has put things in a much better perspective.About the ‘fiscal cliff’ fiasco, the GOP knows Obamaligula won’t give an inch.He wants to tax everybody. It would be nice if just once they walked away and told him,you bought it,you own it.They shouldn’t worry about being blamed for the economic collapse because they get accused anyway. If they want my vote again, ever, they have to show me they’re serious about cutting spending and making it possible for companies to build their businesses without crushing regulations and onerous taxes. They shunted the Tea Party reps aside, preferring to be the minority party in perpetuity.Speaking only for me,I’ve had enough.I’m going to stop now.Won’t waste any more bandwidth on a bunch of weenies.

TODAY’S FEEL-GOOD GRUDGE

Posted by Pistol Pete

Before a majority of our fellow citizens decided to commit national suicide, politics took up a large part of my day. After She died,I had a hard time finding anything worthwhile to talk about. Then I discovered that outside the shallowness of political Kabuki, there really are good things in life.I suspect it’s always been that way.If you want true peace you have to look for it.The search is definitely worthwhile.

I’D LIKE TO FIND ONE OF THESE FOR CHRISSY:

THE FEEL-GOOD GRUDGE

Posted by Pistol Pete

A little late posting today.DW and I went to the local blood bank and donated today. She has a rare blood type and hers is sorely needed. She is O negative-negative.Hers is the blood they need specifically for high-risk newborns. She wasn’t aware of that, and was a little distressed because it’s been a while since she donated.I needed a lot of blood when I had my open heart surgery and this is just a way to give back.

Soring

Watching this video made me weep. I think there’s a special place in Hell for the horrible people who inflict such cruelty on these gentle, lovely creatures.

HOW ABOUT AN ALL GOOD-NEWS GRUDGE?

Posted by Pistol Pete

The political news is going to be pretty predictable for the next few years, but rather than whine about things we can’t do dick about, howzabout trying to share some funny/odd/downright bizarre stuff?

I could post a youtube of Obastard giving his Thanksgiving Day address while omitting any reference to God for the fourth straight year, but I won’t.May he burn in Hell.

DID YOU SEE THE STUPID COW WHO FLIPPED OFF THE MAKER AT ARLINGTON CEMETARY?AFTER SHE AND HER BUDDY POSTED THIS PIC ON FACEBOOK,THEY WERE BOTH SUMMARILY FIRED!!SEE YA!

Clueless in Massachusetts

While acting as paid chaperone to a group of 40 disabled adults visiting the Tomb of the Unknown, Bay Stater Lindsey Stone posed as a fellow chaperone snapped this photo.

Lindsey then uploaded it to her Facebook page, cuz, you know, she’s a moron and thought it was teh funny. Too bad for her, most who saw it were disgusted and the image went viral.

Lindsey has issued a public apology for her “incredibly poor taste” and been put on unpaid leave from her job at the disabled living facility.

Linsey said she meant the image to be a “visual pun.” It is visual, I’ll give her that. But it is not a pun.

A pun can be visual or otherwise and it may or may not be particularly funny. But in order to BE a pun, it must play on multiple meanings of one or more similar-sounding words.

These are puns:

He ate so much over the holidays that he decided to quit cold turkey.

I’m reading a book about anti-gravity. It’s impossible to put down.

I wondered why the baseball was getting bigger. Then it hit me.

Did you hear about the guy whose whole left side was cut off? He’s all right now.

We all agree that Lindsey’s photo is not amusing in any way. I just wanted to point out that it also is not a pun.

THE VETERAN’S DAY GRUDGE

Posted by Pistol Pete

I hadn’t really planned on posting anything, but I will not join the left in ignoring those who are serving and have served.I am constantly in awe at the courage and devotion these warriors show without thought to the risk they take and the sacrifices they and their loved ones make to protect the freedom we all too often take for granted. What galls me is they protect the back of a president who would stick a bayonet in theirs without pause or regret. For all the pain we will endure going forward,it pales to the reality of losing a limb, your eyesight , your very life or see a buddy blown to pieces, and suffer immeasurable pain for the rest of your life. Please join me in saying a special prayer today for those in uniform and those who lie under fields of white crosses from Arlington to Normandy to the Ardennes , Okinawa and Saigon.

Added by CtH: Mama Buzz sent a progress pic, which I can share because there aren’t any photos of Afghanistan and Iraq War Veteran Daddy Buzz up yet. I made the quilt and they purchased the quilt hanger from an all-veteran woodworking company.
