Monument Fire, AZ
http://www.inciweb.org/incident/2324/

29,065 acres at 59 percent contained. Structures are threatened and evacuations are in effect.
Resources on Fire: There are 1,176 people assigned to the fire, including 26 crews, 86 engines, 7 helicopters, 1 single-engine air tanker, 2 heavy air tankers, and 2 dozers.
Today, crews continued to construct, reinforce, and secure the line between the Garden and Monument fires. At the upper end of Carr Canyon, “hot shot” hand crews, with close air support, are constructing hand line to keep the fire from spreading north into Ramsey Canyon. Night operations will focus on line improvement and mop up, while continuing to burn out areas west of the evacuated neighborhoods to strengthen control lines in the Carr Canyon and Garden Canyon road areas. Engines will continue to patrol and mop up hot spots.
Crews from Fort Huachuca constructed and improved lines to reduce fuels along the Garden Canyon Road and elsewhere on base. Tonight they will burn out a protective strip near Garden Canyon with assistance from Monument Fire crews. On the southwest perimeter, crews held the fire in check on the ridge between Blind and Ida canyons using retardant, hand line, and burn out.
Within the next 12 hours, limited fire movement is expected down Carr Canyon NE towards State Road 92 and backing west into the Miller Wilderness.
Evacuations have been lifted except for the area west of State Road 92 south of Ramsey Road and north of White Lily, which includes 316 homes. State Road 92 was reopened at noon today with a 45-mph speed limit. No permits are needed for residents returning to their homes in the reopened area. Call the Joint Information Center for updates or visit the walk-in center at the Windemere Hotel to view large-scale maps and speak to fire staff.

Includes helicopter dropping water. Just like the movies do it. It must help, or they wouldn’t bother. But honestly … the scale makes it look like someone spitting into a bonfire.
