Here’s hoping and praying he grows into the job

2016_11-27-trump-tweet-recount

Matt Walsh posted this on Facebook.  He makes some good points.

I’m not going to spend the next four years justifying everything the president says and does just because he’s a Republican. I know this will put me in a minority among conservatives, but I intend to hold Trump accountable same as I would any other politician.

On that note, let’s look at this tweet the President Elect sent out today. Two problems:

First, it’s an abject lie. There is no evidence that “millions” of votes were made illegally. The future president is making wild, conspiratorial claims without the slightest concern about whether those claims have any relation to the truth whatsoever. I imagine him employing this same tactic as president when it comes to matters of national security, where lives are at stake, and it gives me a very queasy feeling.

Second, the Clinton camp is trying to get a recount in several states. The man who WON has now JUSTIFIED those recounts by claiming that millions of votes were illegitimate. By his own words, a national recount of every vote must be conducted. That’s according to Trump himself. The guy who won. The guy who won just questioned the legitimacy of his own win.

And why? Because of his pride. Even though he won, he can’t stomach the idea that fewer people voted for him than Clinton. So, just to service his damned vanity, he undermined his own win and called into question the authenticity of a voting process that just resulted in him becoming president.

We are in for four years of this crap, folks. And I’m not going to play along. I refuse. Trump is wrong here. He’s lying. He’s being a prideful, reckless idiot and he deserves to be raked over the coals for it. And those who defend him on this deserve to be criticized right along with him.

I opposed The Donald for a long time primarily because he struck me as an Obama in White Face.  Unqualified.  Narcissistic.  I think he’s made a lot of progress growing into the job and I pray that as he gets more of his team assembled, they (and his lovely, level-headed wife) will teach him to rein in the campaign rhetoric.  It’s not appropriate coming from a president.

But really … wouldn’t it be sweet if a Democrat-demanded recount uncovered evidence of Democrat voter fraud? ::snork::

Trump is not a sexist.  His campaign manager, Kellyanne Conway, is now the first woman to lead a winning U.S. presidential campaign. Also, Republicans are NOT racists. We just elected the FIRST Black Senator since Reconstruction — South Carolina Republican Senator Tim Scott.

Matt Walsh:  Leftists, … your loss had nothing to do with -isms and phobias and everything to do with the following three factors: You nominated a corrupt, deceitful, detestable crook who was the subject of at least two active FBI investigations; white working class Americans are tired of being scolded and lectured; and your policies don’t work.

“It’s easier to get a Glock than a book”

As everyone knows, Barack Obama recently took the occasion of a memorial service for the murdered Dallas police officers to deliver another idiotic rant on gun control. Among other imbecilic statements, the Pinnochio of Pennsylvania Avenue said the following (and get a load of the expressions on the faces of the cops seated behind him):

Matt Walsh commented:

A lot of people have been critical of the speech because he used it as an opportunity to lecture about race and guns. Some say that it is staggeringly idiotic and cruel to utter even one blatantly political statement at a memorial service for dead cops. Some say that one line in particular will stand out as perhaps one of the dumbest statements ever spoken by a president, especially during an event like this.

The line went as follows:

“We flood communities with so many guns that it is easier for a teenager to buy a Glock than get his hands on a computer or even a book.”

Some say this kind of sentiment belongs in commentaries written by your ill informed aunt on Facebook, not in a speech delivered by the President of the United States at a funeral in front of a bunch of people who, given the location and the occasion, are sure to already differ with him wildly on the issue. Some say this statement — let alone the rest of the speech — proves that Obama is a compulsive liar, manipulator, and probably a sociopath.

Some say these things. But I do not say them. In fact, I would like to defend Obama publicly. It’s easy to make fun of the notion that firearms are easier for a child to obtain than a library book, but the people mocking Obama clearly have not been out in the world recently.

I can tell you that his claims line up perfectly with my own experience. In fact, just last week I went to Barnes and Noble to buy a book only to discover that almost all of the shelves were bare. Instead of books, I found piles and piles of Glocks lying around on the floor. A sign read: “Free Glocks! Please take three.”

I saw several kids eagerly grabbing armfuls of Glocks. I’m assuming they need them because the schools these days don’t assign book reports anymore — they assign gun reports. I’m told that instead of summer reading lists, the kids are given summer shooting lists. If a kid shoots up to 5 guns in a week, he earns a certificate that he can redeem for a free personal pan pizza at Pizza Hut. Even the computer labs at schools these days have been replaced with gun labs. There are guns everywhere.

Anyway, I took three guns myself. Somehow, I did manage to find a book buried under five or six Glocks. I decided to buy it even though it was 750 dollars — the average price for a book in today’s America. I had to produce an ID and pass a background check for the book, of course, but the whole process only took about 45 minutes.

The problem is that I can’t take it outside anywhere because my state doesn’t allow open carry for fiction novels. I did obtain a concealed reading permit, but most public establishments discourage or even ban reading so the permit is basically useless.

On the other hand, I can take my guns anywhere, buy them anywhere, rent them for free from the library, and shoot them wherever I want. The whole situation feels a bit incongruous, if you ask me.

I’m glad the President finally spoke out on this issue, even if he did have to turn a memorial service into a gun control rally to do it. I am so proud of my president!

Other smart alecks ridiculed King Putt’s asinine remark by “Glocking” the titles of some of those elusive books that are supposedly so difficult to get one’s hands on. Here are some that I collected from Twitter, along with a few of my own (feel free to add your own in the comments):

Matt Walsh on Obama’s Weepy Gun Control Speech

The president unveiled a bunch of gun control “executive actions” in a televised speech earlier today. The speech was, honestly, pretty disgusting on a number of levels. He stood up there surrounded by the families of murder victims, continuing his habit of using grieving parents as political props, and he repeatedly lied and mischaracterized his intentions and the intentions of his opponents.

The worst moment, I thought, was when he openly wept over the children killed at Sandy Hook. Normally I wouldn’t begrudge a man for crying over dead kids, but it’s hard for me to take the tears seriously when it’s a man who funds, facilitates, and gleefully celebrates the murder of a million children every year in this country.

Political Correctness: Dangerously Delusional

“If you’re ‘politically correct’ nowadays, it doesn’t mean you’re polite or considerate or kind, it means you’re delusional, cowed and intellectually dishonest.”

msm

“Here’s the reality: There’s really no reason to be suspicious of groups of white teenage girls or middle aged white men or elderly Chinese women, because they aren’t the ones carrying out terrorist attacks. Now, sure, if you know a kooky, disheveled, white guy who lives by himself in the woods, abuses animals, hides in the bushes to spy on women, and babbles about his conspiracy theories, then you ought to be suspicious of him, too. Disturbed, lone white guys kill people, but they don’t generally come together in groups to plot out an elaborate siege on a local office complex. Muslims do that. That’s almost exclusively a Muslim thing.

“Likewise, if you’re walking down the street alone at night and you see a young black guy coming toward you, it’s rational to be more wary than you’d be if he was a young white lady (although, these days, I guess he could be both). Blacks are only 13 percent of the population but they commit a vastly disproportionate number of homicides and other violent crimes. That’s the reality. You can diagnose the statistics however you want and come up with any number of reasons to explain them, but the facts are the facts. You’re more likely to be killed or mugged in the street by a black person than by any other kind of person.”

Matt Walsh is AWESOME

Dear Walmart,

I am writing to inform you of a terrible attack I suffered in one of your stores this week. The assault against me was so violent and oppressive that I had to immediately retreat to my healing space, where I lay whimpering on the floor for three and a half days, barely able to move or breathe. I emerge now, courageously, only because I must see that those responsible are made to answer for their crimes. I feel deeply triggered even speaking about it, but I must soldier on, in the name of #Justice.

Satan is having fun

Poop in public

“We should all be paying attention to what happened in Illinois this week. Obama’s Department of Education told an Illinois school district that it may not prevent a gender-confused boy from using the girl’s locker room. The federal government has now officially ruled that boys who call themselves ‘transgender’ have a CIVIL RIGHT to watch girls undress. It’s lunacy, my friends. Total lunacy. …

“Liberalism is now an ideology completely divorced from any semblance of reality. It has, to use a popular phrase, jumped the shark. The only question is whether our culture will jump with it. So far, it seems that answer is yes. But we have to keep fighting to defend the basic notion of objective truth, because if we can’t draw the line here, I think the battle might be irreversibly and finally lost.” ~Matt Walsh

It is important to note here that this gender-confused boy was offered a private locker room in 2014. His family decided only full access to girls’ bathrooms, locker rooms and showers would meet their delicate princess boy’s needs. They filed a federal complaint saying the school violated the Title IX gender equality law and they won.

The US Education Department’s Office of Civil Rights has ruled that, if the district does not allow this physically male person free access, they will lose their federal funds. Last year, this district received $6 million from D.C.

The rest of the story

MEDIA do your own research

From Matt Walsh:

Yet another controversy over a “racist” cop allegedly “assaulting” a black teenager. A video went viral last night showing a white police officer take down a black high school student, drag her across the floor, and cuff her. Naturally, the cop is now being investigated for civil rights violations. …

If you’re in the sane minority that doesn’t immediately assume all cops are bad and all black suspects are good — then the rest of the story is relevant.

According to reports from the school and witnesses, the girl was using her phone in class. The teacher told her to hand it over, she refused. Teacher told her to go to the office, she refused. Administrator came and told her to go to the office, she refused. School resource officer was summonsed. He told her to get up and come with him, she refused. She was asked again, and again, and she refused, and refused. Finally, after one last warning, she was dragged out of her chair and physically extracted from the building.

Here’s the thing: no matter if you think the cop was “too rough,” the point is that this girl could have avoided all of this SIMPLY BY OBEYING THE RULES AND HAVING SOME BASIC RESPECT FOR AUTHORITY. Sorry for yelling. I’m just tired of this “Oh no, black kids are being attacked by cops, what ever will we do about it?” thing. Here’s what you do about it: teach your kids to be decent, respectful human beings, for God’s sake. This isn’t hard, everyone. It really isn’t.

The limits of God’s tolerance

Church failure

“Christianity includes us, Christ includes us, but He will not include our sin. We have to choose to shed our sin, pick up our cross, and follow Him. That’s what it means to ‘be included’. You say that’s what you want, but do you? Do you want to leave your earthly pleasures behind, cut off whatever parts of your life are causing you to sin (Matthew 5:30), and die with Christ? I can’t answer that question for you. I have a hard enough time answering it affirmatively myself every day.

“Christianity is truly a simple formula, but a painful one. If we will not include the pain and sacrifice in our lives, we will not include the Faith. … There are many accounts in Scripture where Jesus delivers a controversial message that is hard for people to accept, and many of his followers abandon Him altogether because of it. You’ll notice that Jesus never backtracks and apologizes. He never chases them down as they walk away and explains that He didn’t really mean all that stuff and really they were just taking it out of context.”

This article is so good. I urge you to print it out and tuck it into your Bible so you can study it and ponder and pray about what it means in your life. Read the rest @
