If Ariel Castro were a Republican, the news would have been trumpeted by the mainstream media as tangible proof of the Republican War on Women. The fact that nothing at all has been said about his political affiliations is darn near proof positive that he’s a Democrat. And, as it happens, he actually IS a registered Democrat.
He’s also Hispanic, but it’s probably RAAAACIST of me to mention it, even though if he’d been a White Republican, the Left Stream Media would be honking that 24-7 and ad nauseum.
His politics and race matter only insofar as the LEFT keeps trying to make out that every bad act on the planet is perpetrated by an extremist rightwing zealot probably a Tea Partier with “Sarah Palin” tattooed over his heart.
Time and time again, these “probably a White Republican” criminals turn out to be “definitely Leftwingnut Democrats” … after which it’s, “We don’t know why he did this awful thing” and “Political affiliation? What political affiliation?”
The Lame Stream Media really topped themselves with this one.
On the morning of May 7, 2013, during an update on the Cleveland kidnapping story, CNN’s Ashleigh Banfield pretended to be doing a satellite interview with Nancy Grace of Headline News. They acted like they were on opposite sides of the world, but in the video, you can see the SAME busses and cars passing behind them!
I guess the viewers were supposed to conclude one of them was actually in Cleveland, except they were both in Phoenix covering the Jodi Arias trial. The Arias trial is a hot one of course, what with her having stabbed and slashed her boyfriend nearly 30 times, before shooting him in the head, slashing his throat ear to ear, and leaving his body to rot in his shower.
So’s the Cleveland story for that matter, what with Very Bad Men abusing teen girls for years and years. There’s even a little child involved, the product of a rape who, oddly enough, is clearly well-loved by her victim mother. If she’d conceived outside her prison, she could’ve gone to someone like Kermit Gosnell and delivered her daughter into a bloody toilet instead of into a kiddy pool.
So yeah … I can totally see how both the Arias and Cleveland stories merit lots and lots and lots of wide-eyed, über concerned, NATIONAL media coverage, while Gosnell merited zero to none. Cuz that “just a local news story” about Gosnell was you know like So Totally Different.
And golly, it’s not like the media is, you know, controlled by a small group of politically-partisan and like-minded people or nuthin’. I mean, look at the Arias coverage. CNN and Headline News and HLN were all there in Phoenix to keep everyone Up To The Minute.
Oh wait. They’re all owned by the same company. Never mind. Keep moving. Nothing to see here.
April 23, 2013: CBS reports that five House committees have released their interim report on Benghazi. The committees are Armed Services, Judiciary, Foreign Affairs, Intelligence and Oversight.
The report says Clinton lied during her testimony to Congress. Documents bearing her signature prove that she knew about the request for additional security and personally ordered that security to be reduced, thereby leaving the consulate wide open to the attack that killed Ambassador Stevens and 3 other Americans.
Democrats are whining that the report is just an evil Republican plot to make the Obama administration look bad.
The MSM will be all over this as soon as they get done reporting on the Kermit Gosnell abortion trial.
The so-called “mainstream” media (aka, lamestream media, leftstream media, laughing stock media) includes organizations like ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, The New York Times and The Washington Post. What they do is not journalism; it’s propaganda.
Journalists educate the public about current events and let individuals decide what it may or may not mean to them.
Propagandists spin the news in order to promote a political agenda and/or smear their opposition.
Propagandists see absolutely everything through a politically partisan lens. Will it help Us? Will it hurt Us? How can we spin this to make Us look good and Them look bad?
To propagandists, catastrophe is not a time for Americans to come together and mourn until all the facts are known. It’s just another opportunity to smear the enemy which, in the case of our nation’s major media, means “right-wing extremists” … aka, people like you and me.
Here are some recent examples.
February 18, 2010 – Andrew Joseph Stack III flew his Piper Dakota into the IRS office building in Austin, Texas, killing himself and the IRS manager. Thirteen others were injured, two seriously.
Just prior to the crash, Stack posted a suicide note on his website that referred to the “greed” of the IRS, praised Communism, complained about the Catholic Church, and expressed displeasure with American politicians and the government, particularly the Bush administration.
In its reporting on the incident, the Washington Post intentionally omitted Stack’s pro-Communist, anti-Republican screed in order to paint him as a Tea Party protester.
January 8, 2011 – Jared Loughner killed six people and injured 13, including U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords. Another man was injured while subduing him.
Within an hour of the shooting, the media was openly blaming Sarah Palin for instigating this crime. They would continue to do so for weeks.
Loughner, who was apprehended and identified immediately, was diagnosed paranoid schizophrenic. He had a history of alcohol and drug abuse and had been suspended from college following multiple disruptions and incidents of bizarre behavior.
His friends and classmates said that, prior to 2007, Loughner had been left-wing politically, but that in more recent years he’d lost interest in politics. Voter records show he was registered Independent, but had not voted after 2008.
July 20, 2012 – James Holmes opened fire inside of a Century movie theater in Aurora, Colorado, during a screening of the latest Batman movie. He killed 12 and injured 58 others. He was arrested almost immediately.
Holmes, who had dyed his hair a brilliant shade of red, told police he was The Joker. A neighbor who had spent time with Holmes just days before the shooting said he had not shown any angry or anti-social tendencies. “We just talked about football… that kind of thing.”
Nevertheless, investigative reporter Brian Ross speculated with George Stephanopoulos on ABC’s Good Morning America that the shooter might be a member of the Tea Party.
December 14, 2012 – Adam Lanza murdered 20 children and 6 adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School in in Newtown, Connecticut, then shot himself to death. Before driving to the school, Lanza had shot and killed his mother in their home.
Within minutes, the media began a coordinated attack on the NRA. This, despite the fact that numerous gun-control laws already on the books in Connecticut had done nothing to prevent Lanza’s murder spree:
Connecticut law requires a person be over 21 to possess a handgun and to have a permit to carry it. Lanza was 20 and obviously had no permit. It is also unlawful in Connecticut to take a firearm on to school property, a statute Lanza clearly ignored just as thoroughly as he ignored the one about not breaking and entering (the school), the one about not stealing (the guns), and, oh yeah, the one about not MURDERING PEOPLE.
February 3–12, 2013 – Christopher Dorner went on a murder spree that left four dead and three wounded. Dorner, who was the subject of one of the largest manhunts in LAPD history, died during a stand-off with police at a cabin in the San Bernardino Mountains.
For more than a week, Dorner’s murder spree led the news. What did not lead, or even get mentioned by the MSM, was that this mass murderer had written a manifesto that made it clear that he was a huge fan of the political left and its causes … including gun control!
He also expressed high regard for the very same so-called journalists who love to speculate about the dreaded “right” being behind Dorner-style crimes. E.g., Soledad O’Brien, Piers Morgan, Brian Williams, Anderson Cooper, Chris Matthews, and Tavis Smiley.
These same people did not report on Dorner’s self-expressed manifesto, but on the fact that he was a former police officer who was angry that his charges of racism in the LAPD had not been handled to his satisfaction.
These “journalists” … people who constantly claim to be our moral superiors …. actually sat around on air seriously considering, and in many cases agreeing that Dorner’s murderous rampage was kinda, sorta an appropriate means of political expression, because well, you know, RAAAAACISM.
April 15, 2013 – Two bombs exploded near the finish line of the Boston Marathon, killing 3 people and injuring 183 others. They detonated at 2:49 p.m. EDT, 13 seconds apart. No warnings were given and no one has claimed responsibility for the bombing.
In the aftermath, the MSM has been having a field day.
Nicholas Kristof, columnist for the New York Times, blamed Senate Republicans; it’s a little tough to see how a delayed Senate appointment is responsible for a terrorist bomb, but what the hey? Republicans are eeevil! Isn’t that enough?
Less than two hours after the bombs exploded, when nobody knew anything at all, a CNN analyst speculated that right-wing extremists could be behind the attack.
AFTER police had confirmed that there had been TWO bombs, MSNBC assured viewers that officials believed there had only been ONE:
“one small improvised explosion. In other words, a homemade bomb.”
Based on this misinformation, Chris Matthews reassured viewers that the bombing was obviously a right-wing job because,
“as a category, normally, domestic terrorists tend to be on the far right.”
Former Obama adviser David Axelrod implicated the right-wingers who fight Obama’s persistent efforts to raise taxes, because April 15th was tax day.So, smack your forehead and why didn’t we all think of that?!
In another bizarro date-based reach, NBC’s Luke Russert and Esquire’s Charles P. Piers BOTH speculated that the bombing might be connected to the Left’s all-time-fave right-wing whack job, Timothy McVeigh, who bombed an Oklahoma City federal building on April 19, 1995.
Huh, you say? Yeah, really! Well, here’s the brilliantly investigatively journalistic rationale they used:
April 19, 1775 was when the Revolutionary War started at the Battles of Lexington and Concord.
April 19th is a Massachusetts state holiday known as Patriots’ Day.
The Boston Marathon was run on this year’s moved-to-Monday official Patriots’ Day holiday, April 15, 2013.
QED, right? The Boston Marathon bomber(s) are probably McVeigh’s right-wing whack job soul mates!
Never mind that McVeigh himself said his bombing was revenge for the 76 men, women and children the FBI burned to death inside their homes on April 19, 1993 in Waco, Texas.
It’s none too clear to me whether McVeigh knew (or cared) that April 19th was the anniversary of Lexington and Concord. He grew up in New York State, the same as I did. Despite having been married to a Massachusets native for more than 30 years, I was unaware of Patriots’ Day until this week.
And in this same day news report, the date significance reported is for the Waco Siege in Texas, not the state holiday in Massachusetts.
There are more smear-the-right examples I could list, but you get the idea. Come to think of it, you already had the idea, so why am I blathering on?
To give you evidence for those around you who may be finally coming out of their kool-aid stupor and need to play catch-up.
Below are all the URLs for all the points I made, in case your kool-aid rehabber actually cares about … you know … facts.
I have tremendous respect for Phelim McAleer. I own all three of his documentaries: Mine Your Own Business, Not Evil Just Wrong and FrackNation. So when I heard he’d had a few free days in Philadelphia and had attended the Gosnell trial, I had to read his report.
“The evidence that kept emerging the few days I was there is jaw dropping and poignant. Dr. Hellman explained all the charts that medical professionals have to work out the age of a fetus. They measure the length and width of the baby, they weigh organs, and they compare them to charts of previous autopsies of babies whose age they knew. Dr. Hellman said that based on the charts, he conservatively estimated Baby Girl Manning was between 28- and 29-weeks-old.”
“Journalists who are mostly pro-choice/pro-abortion are reluctant to cover stories that show abortionists in a bad light and would make the case for tighter regulation. There can be no other reason. I say this not to make political points but to simply point out reality.”
“I have covered the troubles in Northern Ireland and child trafficking in Indonesia and Romania. I have never come across a more sensational case. There is plenty of meat for the tabloid or the “serious” journalist. That they have mostly ignored it is part of the reason their industry is in decline.”
Why is the Democrat Media Complex ignoring this story? It’s simple. Gosnell’s was not a back alley abortion clinic. He was licensed and approved by state of PA.
The MSM is claiming this is just a local crime story, no biggie, nothing to see here, keep on moving. I can’t help wondering what the news stories would be like if the man on trial had been a white guy accused of murdering unborn sea turtles and keeping their little flippers in jars on a shelf.
According to Obama, “ensuring fetal demise” after a botched abortion isn’t murder.
Gosnell was getting rid of unwanted children. Libs should be celebrating.
Can we apply this “kill it if we don’t want it” to other things?
Sure. Communists do all the time.
Why not abort kids up to age 2? Some 2 year olds are inconvenient. It’s a choice.
Why stop at age 2? There are some 30 year olds that are useless mouths.
Well, ultimately that’s what choice means.
The history of leftism is murder, oppression, torture, gulags, and the devaluation of human beings. It’s boringly predictable.
Random thought: How many vegetarians who are disgusted by the consumption of eggs have no problem with abortion?
My wife had 2 fetuses, 7 and 6 Weeks premature, now 26 and 22 years. What I want to know is, when can I call them sons?
My son was born in the second trimester. He averages 11 points and three steals a game now! Quite. A. Fetus!
My brother’s premature triplet fetuses are all college graduates now.
My 5 yr old was born at 30 weeks. Reading up a storm. A magnificent blob of undifferentiated cells!
