Leftist Haters In MINORITY

While watching the very brief video below, keep in mind that Karen “Crazy Crackers” Finney is a former Director of Communications for the Democratic National Committee and former Press Secretary for Hillary Clinton.

IOW, it’s her JOB to watch what comes out of her mouth.

I’m sure we all feel LOADS BETTER knowing that Karen’s pejorative remark was not meant in any RACIAL way, but just, you know, that she thinks those who believe the Second Amendment means what it says are, you know, like … Coo-Coo Crazy Pants Crack Pot Haters. Which is so way much better than Redneck Coo-Coo Crazy Pants Crack Pot Haters. Right?

So, folks. Just WHO are these “extremists” who believe the Second Amendment means what it says it means?

Only the MAJORITY of American Adults, that’s who.

  • March 27, 2008: Gallup Poll of American Adults
  • “Do you believe the Second Amendment to the Constitution guarantees the rights of private citizens to own guns?”
  • 73% YES vs. 20% NO vs. 7% DK
  • January 18, 2013: Rasmussen Poll of American Adults
  • “Do you believe the purpose of the Second Amendment is to make sure that people are able to protect themselves from tyranny?”
  • 65% YES vs. 17% NO vs. 18% DK

Reflection and Perspective

The following was written by Mark Crutcher of Life Dynamics and is reprinted with permission.

At the beginning of the classic Christmas movie, It’s a Wonderful Life, George Bailey stood on a snow-covered bridge preparing to jump into the icy river below.

IAWL George despairs

He was going to kill himself after concluding that he had made a mess of things and that his life had counted for nothing. Then, at the height of his despair, he was visited by Clarence – an angel who showed him all the lives he had touched and how different his community would be had he never lived. In the end, George came to see that he had walked onto that bridge because he was allowing his life to be defined by its failures.

There is a valuable lesson in that for the pro-life movement.

Today marks the 40th anniversary of the tragic Roe v. Wade decision and, for those of us who fight for the unborn, I often get the feeling that our self-doubt and sense of failure has grown with each of those years. While we don’t question the rightness of our cause, the enormity of its challenges makes us question whether our blood, sweat and tears have bought very much. This attitude seems to be reinforced when you recognize that, for all our efforts, we have not returned legal protection to one baby in one state. On the surface, it seems that all we’ve really done is minimally regulate the circumstances under which they can be killed.

While that analysis may be technically accurate, the picture it paints is misleading. Although few, if any, would call me an angel, I want to point out what our country would be like had my brothers and sisters in this struggle not done what they have done.

Life Dynamics - Pres Mark Crutcher

When I started Life Dynamics in 1992, there were over 2100 abortion clinics in America. Today, there are just over 600 and most of those that remain are gasping for air. But be assured, if the pro-life movement had never existed, there could easily be one in every mall and strip shopping center in the country.

Now if you think the idea of mall-based abortion franchises is too crass even by Planned Parenthood’s standards, you don’t know much about Planned Parenthood. In reality, this is precisely the kind of thing they would do if they could get away with it.

You might also be tempted to think that the American people would not tolerate something this outrageous. If so, I remind you that, fifty years ago, those same people would have labeled you insane if you had predicted that they would soon be driving past free-standing abortion businesses with toll-free numbers, Yellow Page ads and credit-card decals on the front door. Moreover, they would have hauled you away to some asylum if you had predicted that these barbarians would be doing late-term abortions on healthy babies being carried by healthy moms, or that it would be legal for 12-year-old girls to be taken to these places and aborted without their parent’s knowledge.

The point is, if you consider that these things happened in a country with a vibrant pro-life movement, it is quite reasonable to predict that there would be abortion franchises in the malls of a country with no pro-life movement. In that environment, we could also expect to see abortion pills hanging in bubble packs at the check-out counters of every convenience store in the country. In fact, they’d make the perfect companion to the large variety of condoms and “personal lubricants” that are hanging there now.

Life on Mars

There’s more.

  • If the pro-life movement had never existed … every public school and university in America would either have an on-site abortion clinic or a contract with a nearby abortionist.
  • If the pro-life movement had never existed … there would be no debate about taxpayer funding of abortion; the government would have been forcing us to pay for them since day one.
  • If the pro-life movement had never existed … the right-to-life of the unborn would not even be discussed in either the public arena or the political process.
  • If the pro-life movement had never existed … poll after poll would not now be documenting a dramatic shift away from support for legalized abortion and toward the pro-life position – especially among the young.
  • If the pro-life movement had never existed … we would not see the faces of children with disabilities like Down syndrome – not because these maladies had been cured but because abortion would have long ago become the accepted medical “treatment” for every imperfect baby. After all, killing people is easier than healing or accommodating them.
  • If the pro-life movement had never existed … there would be no crisis pregnancy network to help those women who might not want to submit to abortion. That’s because, without your voices, abortion would be the default position for every unplanned pregnancy.

The list goes on and on, but the bottom line is that, without the pro-life movement, America would have devolved into a country where the killing of an unborn child has no more moral significance than the pulling of a tooth.

Now, for those who think I am exaggerating about these things, let me introduce some facts you may not have considered.

In the early 1920s, the Soviet Union became the first industrialized nation in the world to legalize abortion. Many years later, several studies were conducted to determine how that decision was playing out. To put it mildly, the findings were stunning.

One published study documented that the average Soviet woman had nine abortions during her child-bearing years. Other research documented that 90 percent of all first pregnancies in the Soviet Union and 60 percent of all subsequent pregnancies were legally aborted. It is also known that, of the remaining pregnancies, many of them ended in illegal or unreported abortions. The result was that, according to one American researcher, in some parts of the Soviet Union it was not uncommon for women to undergo as many as 28 abortions.

Today, the Russian government is saying that the health consequences of this have been catastrophic for that nation’s women. Additionally, economists are saying that the demographic realities brought on by Russia’s artificially shrunken population will inevitably cause an economic meltdown. In fact, some demographers are arguing that this collapse has already begun.

The important thing for us to recognize is that the Soviet experience with abortion is a prototype for what happens in any country where the abortion industry is allowed to operate without opposition and, thus, without restraint. Make no mistake, had it not been for the American pro-life movement, what happened in the Soviet Union would have been duplicated right here. We would not now be standing on the graves of 50 million dead babies; we would be standing one the graves of 150 million or 250 million or … God only knows how many. Think about that the next time you start to question what the blood, sweat and tears of the pro-life movement have bought.

Jim Pouillon

As we go forward, it is important to never forget that this is not a war between the pro-life movement and the abortion lobby. It is a war between the abortion lobby and the unborn. The pro-life movement is merely a collection of soldiers who volunteered to fight on the side of defenseless children who would, otherwise, be left alone to face these remorseless and amoral cowards.

In the final analysis, we are stronger today than we’ve ever been. For all our faults – and they are many – we have made it clear that whatever sacrifices must be made, we will make; whatever burdens must be borne, we will bear; and whatever obstacles must be overcome, we will overcome.

We have lived this commitment – and we will keep living it – because that is what God expects of us. Two thousand years ago, He promised that the gates of hell would not prevail against us – and we understand that if the front door of an abortion clinic is not a gate into hell, then hell does not exist.

So, while it is true that the pro-life movement has not yet won, it is just as true that we will never quit. Despite the setbacks we might face and the battles we might lose, we are going to continue doing our duty and trusting God to deliver the promised victory. But until that day comes, we will not allow Satan to rub our noses in our failures. We will be proud of what we have accomplished, unapologetic about where we have tried and failed, focused on the battle in front of us, and resolute about the future.

And we’re going to leave the snow-covered bridges to our enemies.

60% of Americans believe …

Catastrophe

… there will be a major catastrophe that kills more than 1 million people in their lifetime:

37 percent expect it in the next five years.

24 percent give it up to 10 years.

11 percent say it won’t happen.

Most likely scenarios chosen were:

Nuclear explosion somewhere in America triggered by terrorists.

Major electrical grid outage caused by terrorists or a computer hacker.

Widespread financial meltdown that leads to sustained social unrest.

More than twice as many Republicans as Democrats said catastrophe is likely, which means either Republicans are overly pessimistic or Democrats have their heads firmly stuffed somewhere the sun don’t shine.

THE DECISION DAY GRUDGE

Posted by Pistol Pete

This is the day that the Lord hath made;I will rejoice and be glad in it.

We have endured ad after ad and poll after poll and it all comes down to this.Despite the LSM’s efforts to convince us it’s very close, but Obama will win a majority of  the swing states, I just don’t buy it.We have predicted all along that there’s an earthquake coming and the media won’t know what’s happening.Think of Chick-Fil-A and the outpouring of support  when people stand up for their principles.Think of the media dismissing the Tea Party as a small right-wing fringe group, even ignoring the Sept. 12 rally in DC that drew a million people. We watched as Obamacare was slipped through on Christmas Eve as a thief in the night. Two car companies were stolen from the rightful owners and one given to a foreign company and the other to Obama’s union thugs. So many outrages. The most grievous was allowing Americans to die because he was concentrating on his reelection. He has been a virus that has sickened us for four long years and today is the day we can administer the antidote.

But they that wait on the LORD shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary;
and they shall walk, and not faint.

OHIO: Early voting report

Ohioans have given their electoral votes to the winning candidate in every one of the last ten presidential elections.

In 2008, Obama won Ohio with +4.6. In 2004, Bush won Ohio with +2.1.

Today’s Real Clear Politics average has Obama at +2.3, but that includes a Quinnipiac poll at +5 that Karl Rove says uses the 2008 Democrat turnout numbers, which are unrealistic for this year.

Rasmussen shows Romney at +2. Obama 48% vs. Romney 50% vs. Other 1% vs. Undecided 1%.

As of Tuesday, Oct 30, early voters were stacking up with a much less favorable lead for Democrats than 2008.

530,813 of them have been Democrats (181,275 less than 2008)
448,357 of them have been Republicans (75,858 more than 2008)

Most observers expect Republicans to win Election Day turnout.
Most polls show Romney leading with Independents.

I don’t know why I’m crying …

… but I am. Just sobbing. Tears rolling. Glasses fogging up. VIDEO is posted beneat the TEXT. Read this. Please. Then watch the video. After the video link, I’ve posted the latest Colorado election poll numbers.

====================
October 23, 2012 in Denver, Colorado

As the governor was en route to the amphitheatre they were told the crowd was showing “strong numbers”.  What greeted him was a lot more than just “strong numbers” though.  It was a massive wave of thousands and thousands of supporters.  Before going on the governor apparently peeked out a few times and was shaking his head in disbelief at just how many people were there to see him.  He was told by organizers up to a thousand more were turned away because there simply wasn’t any room left.  People said you could feel the size of the crowd under your feet backstage.  Somebody had passed out a ton of “thundersticks” and the people were banging them together and making this amazing rumbling noise.  There were some real veteran campaigners backstage and I’m told they were all blown away by this crowd in Colorado.  It really was like some big time rock show.  Just a huge response for the governor.

So Governor Romney goes onstage and gives his speech.  The crowd just totally embraces him.  From beginning to end.  Every word.  They are fired up. Loud.  Positive.  Cheering.  Just an amazing moment for the campaign.  Everybody backstage were all smiles and peeking out at all those people and shaking their heads.  This is the kind of moment in a campaign you never forget. Ever. Nobody who hasn’t experienced it can really understand this feeling.  You’re looking at a candidate being transformed right in front of your eyes into the next Leader of the Free World.  They go from being human into something just a bit more. It’s all those people.  That energy.  It kind of fills the candidate up and makes them bigger than life.  And you are watching it happen in real time.  Right then.

The governor returns backstage and he is smiling and shaking hands, taking congratulations from everybody around him.  He’s saying how great it was.  Somebody yells out he’s going to win Colorado and the governor laughs and says he thinks so too.  And then something very interesting happens.  He moves away from the group of people just a bit.  Maybe ten or fifteen feet or so.  Just enough to have a little space to himself.  And enough people notice that the area gets a lot more quiet, and they are trying to watch the governor without looking like they are watching the governor.  They can all kind of tell something is happening right then.  It was described as something very peaceful and powerful that came over that backstage area for a moment.  And the governor, he lowers his head and his eyes shut tight and you could see him take a slow deep breath and then he lets it out and says quietly, but just loud enough for some to hear, “Lord, if this is your will, please help to make me worthy.  Please give me the strength Lord.”  And then his eyes open up, and he’s back to smiling and laughing and shaking hands and being the candidate once again.

I’m 100% convinced Mitt Romney was shaken to his soul right then and there.  I think at that moment it was sinking in he might really be the next American president, and it humbled him right to his core, in every nerve of his body.  And as he was saying that little prayer, you could hear the sound of thunder from all those thundersticks outside. Like this huge low rumble that just surrounded all of them at once.  A quiet little prayer, and the sound of thunder.

The sound of God.

Obama’s lead with 18-29 year olds not worth much

Click on graphic to embiggen.

Polls in September and October of this year found 67% of registered voters under 30 claimed they were “absolutely certain” they would vote. Given that only one in four voted last time, that sounds like a lot.

But polls from the same period in 2008 put that “absolutely certain” number at 80%. Only 18% actually made it to the polls that year.

In addition, 10% more Romney than Obama youth voters say they will definitely vote this fall.  If they shortfall by approximately the same amount, that 19 point lead isn’t going to get Obama many more total votes than Romney gets from this demographic.

See you at the debate tonight!

Oct 16, 2012: Las Vegas, NV, Frank Luntz Focus Group: Romney Dominated 2d Debate [3:54]

I counted 16 Obama 2008 voters and 7 not-Obama 2008 voters in the focus group.

I believe the group was all Undecideds when they started and that the same people are watching each debate, then sitting for this post-debate mini-poll.

In 2008, Obama won Nevada by +12.5%. If I did the math right, that group represents a +30% difference for Obama, which in itself is interesting, the whole group having started as Undecided, KWIM?

It’s a little hard to see all the hands in video, but I counted 6 of the Obama 2008 voters saying they’re sticking with Obama and 9 that had decided by the end of the second debate to vote for Romney.

This is worth watching to hear what these folks had to say.

I especially liked the lady in red, middle row, second from the left. She said she was not Undecided between Obama and Romney; she was Undecided between Romney and Not Voting, but she says, very emphatically, that Romney’s performance in the debates had been extremely impressive!

I was saddened by the two Obama ladies who seemed to be clueless about the devastating impact that Obama Democrats’ economic leadership has wrought on American women or that Obama himself oversees what female White House employees describe as a “workplace that is hostile to women.”

Romney SAID in the second debate that his gubernatorial administration had the MOST women of any state in the union! Did they not HEAR THAT?!

As for that lady in green who said, “I never heard Romney say he wants to outlaw abortion,” ……..argh. Is that the measure of women’s rights in this country? We can legally kill our unborn children? On that, I agree with Feminists for Life:

WOMEN DESERVE BETTER THAN ABORTION!
