EVERYDAY HEROES: Posted by Tara Thompson via Reddit – “Sam and I were at Target store yesterday The couple near the cart didn’t have enough money for their purchase. The lady in the green shirt started to hand things back to the cashier to be able to afford what she had. The lady in the black shirt came out from her lane and said you don’t need to return anything I will pay for the whole thing. She pulled out her card and did just that. The lady in the green shirt started to cry. We all just experienced such kindness. What a great story to share amongst all this pain in he world.”

FBI: Director Patel has revealed that, in 2023, then-Special Counsel Jack Smith and his “Arctic Frost” team subpoenaed the telephone records of Republican leaders for political purposes. The Republicans affected were Senators Lindsey Graham (SC), Marsha Blackburn (TN), Ron Johnson (WI), Josh Hawley (MO), Cynthia Lummis (WY), Bill Hagerty (TN), Dan Sullivan (AK), Tommy Tuberville (AL), and Representative Mike Kelly (PA).

POLITICAL VIOLENCE: The study Turley references is @ https://networkcontagion.us/wp-content/uploads/NCRI-Assassination-Culture-Brief.pdf [16:53] – Jay Jones is the Democrat nominee for Attorney General in Virginia. The National Review has confirmed the vile text messages he sent, wishing death on his opponent and his opponent’s children, are real. In fact, Jay Jones has admitted he sent them.

Republican Delegate Carrie Coyner has also reported on a 2020 conversation she had with Jones about qualified immunity for police officers. She had warned him that ending those protections would get officers killed. His response was, “Well, maybe if a few of them died, then they would move on, not shooting people, not killing people.”

Under Virginia law, it is a felony to “knowingly communicate … a threat to kill or do bodily injury to a person.” Yet, Jones has yet to lose a single Virginia party endorsement.

EVERYDAY HEROES: I went through the Burger King drive-through (no judging it’s all I had time for) to pick up a sandwich.

The voice over the intercom asked me quite kindly, “What would you like to eat today?”

I answered, quite honestly, “Well if you’re asking, I’d like to have a steak, medium rare, a loaded baked potato, and a side of lobster bisque.”

Immediately I heard two or three voices burst out and laughter, and the voice on the intercom said, “Me too!”

I placed my menu-accurate order and when I pulled around to pick it up the receipt had this drawing on it.

The Weird Tale of Ian Andre Roberts

ICE recently arrested the system superintendent for Des Moines Independent Community School District, Ian Andre Roberts (54). Before that, he was superintendent of schools at Millcreek Township School District in Pennsylvania. He has also held high roles in public education in Baltimore, Washington, D.C., St. Louis, and California. During his 20 years as a leader in education, his districts were sued four times for sex discrimination. One district had to pay over $400,000 in settlements to resolve three of them.

DHS has published his entire immigration record and lists his first entry as having been on June 1, 1994, when he came through JFK on a temporary, B-2 non-immigrant visa (i.e., a visitor for pleasure). But Coppin State University in West Baltimore, MD, say Roberts graduated in 1998, which begs the question of why he wasn’t here on a student visa. Coppin says Roberts was “a standout scholar and athlete during his undergraduate studies”, but did not specify what degree he earned.

On July 3, 1996, part way through his undergraduate years, Roberts was charged with criminal possession of narcotics with intent to sell, criminal possession of narcotics, criminal possession of a forgery instrument and possession of a forged instrument in New York. Was he using drug sales to finance his education? And why wasn’t he deported, since his B-2 visa had expired?

On March 8, 1999, Roberts again entered the country, this time on an F-1 student visa. St. John’s University in New York has confirmed that he was matriculated and received a master’s degree in education on June 4, 2000. Roberts has claimed to have earned a second master’s degree from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University, but Georgetown says they have no record of his ever attending.

Between 1999 and 2000, he left and returned several times, perhaps to train and then run in the 2020 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia, where he represented Guyana in track.

On Feb. 9, 2000, Roberts filed an application for employment authorization, which was approved on April 5, 2000, with an expiration date of April 1, 2001. In May 21, 2001, he filed for permanent resident status (aka, green card), but was rejected.

From Fall 2002 to Spring 2007, Roberts was enrolled in the doctorate program in urban educational leadership at Morgan State University in Baltimore. He has claimed to have earned a doctorate in Education, but Morgan State says that, while he did attend, he did not graduate.

On Nov. 1, 2012, Roberts was convicted of reckless driving, unsafe operation, and speeding in Maryland.

In 2017, while Roberts was the principal of Anacostia High School, Washington, DC, he registered as a Democrat with the Maryland State Board of Elections.

From 2018 to 2020, Roberts was Chief Schools Officer for Aspire Public Schools, Oakland, CA. Once in May, twice in June, and then again in July of 2018, Roberts filed green card applications; all four were rejected.

In July of 2018 and again in November of 2019, he filed for employment authorizations, which were granted. His right to be in the USA expired on Dec. 18, 2020. On Oct. 2, 2020, USCIS issued him a notice to appear before an immigration judge, which he ignored.

On Feb. 3, 2020, he was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon (having a loaded firearm outside his home or business); third-degree criminal possession of a weapon (an ammunition feeding device); and fourth-degree weapon charges.

On Jan. 20, 2022, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania convicted Roberts of unlawful possession of a loaded firearm.

From August 2020 through June 2023, Roberts was superintendent of the Millcreek Township School District, Pennsylvania. The Millcreek Township School District is saying now that, prior to hiring, Roberts went through an FBI background check, completed I-9 eligibility forms and supplied documentation to support his eligibility to work. The district said it “never received any information or notification regarding the expiration of Dr. Roberts’ work authorization” and called reports of his detention “deeply concerning.”

In August of 2023, Roberts had a sealed restraining order filed against him in Jackson County, Missouri.

Also in 2023, Roberts was hired to become the new system superintendent for Des Moines Independent Community School District.

On May 22, 2024, Roberts was court ordered in absentia to leave the country.

On April 24, 2025, an immigration judge denied Roberts’ motion to reopen his case.

In July of 2024, he received a speeding ticket from Iowa State Patrol.

On September 26, 2025, Roberts was detained in Des Moines, Iowa. Following news of the arrest, a spokesperson for the Des Moines Independent Community School District told the Associated Press that they had done a “comprehensive background check,” that he had sworn on his application to be a U.S. Citizen and had provided them with a driver’s license and a Social Security card. They also stated that a law firm had reviewed the documents and did not raise any concerns about his eligibility to work.

The district is also now blaming the head hunting firm they hired, saying the firm did not inform them of any problems. But the firm says it performed a criminal background check and notified the district of Robert’s rap sheet. One of the news reports I saw also noted that the school board also had learned during the hiring process that Roberts had lied about his doctoral degree. Clearly, they ignored all the red flags, because they hired him anyway.

On October 2, Roberts was transferred to federal custody where he faces charges of being an illegal alien in possession of multiple firearms. These firearms include a loaded Glock 9mm pistol found in his car when he was apprehended, as well as a loaded and chambered 9mm pistol found underneath a seat cushion in the living room, a loaded rifle found in the master bedroom closet, and a shotgun found behind the master bedroom headboard.

EVERYDAY HEROES: “’You’ll ruin your future,’ my dad said when I told him my girlfriend was pregnant. My dad was loud about it, but rent was louder, so I grabbed night shifts and kept my classes. Emily—then my girlfriend, later my wife—and I rented a tiny place off campus with thin walls and a secondhand crib that creaked when I rocked it. I printed notes at 2 a.m., packed bottles at 6, and pushed Lily’s stroller past freshmen yawning on the steps. A professor frowned at the stroller; I stood in the back and finished the presentation while Lily colored on my handouts. When daycare fell through, I studied in the parking lot while she slept in the backseat, and the dashboard clock blinked. On my graduation day, I held Lily in one arm and my diploma in the other; Emily cried and laughed in the same breath. Twenty years later, Emily squeezed my hand, I held flowers, and we watched Lily cross that same stage.”

Feast of St. Francis of Assisi

PRAYER of St. FRANCIS: Lord, make me an instrument of your peace:
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

“He reached out and asked if she wanted to sit with him. He pulled out his tablet and showed her how to draw with it, they watched cartoons together, and she offered him snacks.

“This wasn’t a short little exchange, this was 45 minutes. Watching them in that moment, I couldn’t help but think, different genders, different races, different generations, and the best of friends. This is the world I want for her.

“In a country that is continuously fed that it’s so deeply divided, I want her life to be filled with moments like this.

EVERYDAY HEROES: “Dear Spectrum Internet, Today your technician Robert came to our home to upgrade our internet and help us start up TV streaming. He walked into a mess. My son, Sailor, is three years old. He was born with two rare brain defects and he is blind. He is unable to communicate his needs, and today has been rough for him. He has been crying all morning. I’ve been trying to soothe him while also meeting the needs of my two year old daughter, cleaning, washing dishes, and doing laundry while my husband works. It’s just been a tough day. When Robert walked in and started talking, Sailor ran to him and reached up. Robert didn’t seem bothered at all and, instead, held my son off and on for the whole 45 minutes he was in our home. He snuggled him close while I folded laundry. It was a huge relief to this tired momma. Robert could have walked in, rushed, and left but instead he saw a need greater than internet and met it. That’s beyond customer service- it’s humanity at its best. Robert deserves a raise… a promotion… something! He’s an asset to your company and I will never forget his kindness. September 30, 2025 lede – “Amid government spending negotiations, President Donald Trump and other GOP leaders are accusing Democrats of demanding free health care for ‘illegal aliens’ in return for their support of a federal funding bill.”

MILITARY: On Tuesday, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth announced that all combat personnel will be required to meet the highest male standard in order to maintain their positions.

“We’re training warriors, not defenders. We fight wars to win, not to defend. Defense is something you do all the time, it’s inherently reactionary and can lead to overuse, overreach, and mission creep. War is something you do sparingly, on our own terms and with clear aims.”

I notice he said “combat” personnel. It reminds me of the time our new pastor expressed disbelief that our youngest was a Marine. As she is only 5’4” tall, he noted she couldn’t drive a military truck. She noted back that her MOS didn’t require her to drive a truck. There are lots of places for women to serve in the military. Combat isn’t one of them.

PHILATELY: October is Stamp Collecting Month. The National Postal Museum reminds us that “a stamp is much more than the physical evidence that postage has been paid. Stamps can be miniature works of art, treasured keepsakes, and rare collectibles.”

Shutdown

CLICK https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tus6VzGtuXY [:35] to hear then-Senator Clinton declare, unequivocally, that illegals should not get free health care.

Democrats are lying. They are demanding free health care for illegals. Why should anyone be surprised about this? CLICK https://x.com/Geiger_Capital/status/1973567193989390673 [:10] to see every one of the Democratic presidential wannabes endorse the idea.

CLICK https://x.com/DogRightGirl/status/1973553715631292738 to hear Hakeem Jeffries state, unequivocally, that “Not a single undocumented immigrant in this country gets a dime in Federal taxpayer dollars for any part of comprehensive Medicaid coverage.”

In his statement, Jeffries lies by using the logical fallacy known as amphiboly. The words he said are technically true; illegals don’t get Medicaid “dimes” handed to them. However, what he means for us to infer from his statement – i.e., that illegals aren’t getting free health care courtesy of American taxpayers – is false. Medicaid sends all payments directly to the providers.

Despite being responsible for shutting down the government, legislators will still get their paychecks and there’s nothing we can do about it, because their pay (as well as the president’s) are mandated in the Constitution. Active duty military have to continue working. They won’t get paid until after the shutdown ends.

Schumer is 74 years old! What IS it with these people that they refuse to retire and let younger people step up to the plate? My father was a coach. He always made sure his second and third string got playing time, so they could develop their skills and move up when the first stringers got injured or graduated.

IMO, AOC is only able to threaten Schumer because he never let the second stringers in party leadership take their rightful place while he, Biden, Pelosi, and the rest of the geriatric horde stepped back to serve as mentors and cheerleaders before gracefully retiring.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune says of Schumer, “Chuck’s in a really tough spot. I mean, he cut this deal with a lot of these left-wing special interest groups. And I think that’s unfortunate, but it is because he’s feeling pressure on his hard left. But I think there are a lot of reasonable Democrats in the middle. I mean, we’re hearing from him, Greta. We’re hearing from through my colleagues. They’re reaching out. People want an off-ramp. They want a way out of this box canyon that Chuck Schumer has marched them into.”

Tensegrity structures are found in both nature and human-made objects: in the human body, the bones are held in compression while the connective tissues are held in tension, and the same principles have been applied to furniture and architectural design and beyond.”

She talked to the principal about donating untouched food to a local pantry. That, she learned, wasn’t possible. “He said it would be a violation of health regulations and could affect federal funding for school lunches.” She then learned about a school in Africa where they had set up a community refrigerator where students could place uneaten food for others to take.

A refrigerator was purchased by the school and now it is stocked daily by students who place their unopened fruit, milk, and packaged items inside instead of throwing them away. And by the end of most school days it is empty – people stopping by it to snag something to eat.

“I feel comfort knowing that students in need are able to grab food on the go and nothing gets wasted.”

EXORCIST: [10:49] – I’m particularly struck by Father Ripperger’s point about schadenfreude, which I’ve mentioned several times is a sin. Definition: Pleasure derived from the misfortunes of others. Malicious enjoyment derived from observing someone else’s misfortune. Delight in another person’s misfortune.

JAMES COMEY: In 2004, Martha Stewart was convicted in 2004 for lying to federal investigators about her sale of ImClone Systems stock, which she sold just before a negative FDA announcement that caused its value to drop. When insider trading charges didn’t stick, the prosecution switched to charging her with obstruction of justice.

In 2003, when charges were initially filed against Martha Stewart, her attorney suggested the charges had been filed “for publicity purposes or because Martha is a celebrity.” But then-U.S. Attorney James Comey, the man behind the case, said it was “lying to the FBI, lying to the SEC and investors. That is conduct that will not be tolerated. Martha Stewart is being prosecuted not because of who she is, but what she did.”

James Comey, who was reportedly very proud of making himself famous for putting the first female billionaire behind bars, has now been indicted on charges of lying to Congress and obstructing a congressional investigation.

PRAYER for OUR NATION: Dear Lord, Please bless all the teachers in a special way today. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
