Today’s Meditation from Christian Art

By Father Patrick van der Vorst

Gospel Reading: Luke 5:33-38

“At that time: The Pharisees and scribes said to him, ‘The disciples of John fast often and offer prayers, and so do the disciples of the Pharisees, but yours eat and drink.’ And Jesus said to them, ‘Can you make wedding guests fast while the bridegroom is with them? The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast in those days.’ He also told them a parable: ‘No one tears a piece from a new garment and puts it on an old garment. If he does, he will tear the new, and the piece from the new will not match the old. And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the new wine will burst the skins and it will be spilled, and the skins will be destroyed. But new wine must be put into fresh wineskins.'”

Today we celebrate the feast of Saint Teresa of Calcutta, better known to the world as Mother Teresa. Born in 1910 in Skopje (present-day North Macedonia), she entered the Loreto Sisters in Ireland as a young woman and soon moved to India, where she taught at a girls’ school in Calcutta. In 1946, during a train journey, she experienced what she later described as a “call within a call”: the deep conviction that Jesus was asking her to leave the security of her convent and dedicate herself to serving the poorest of the poor. With nothing but a simple white sari and a heart full of faith, she began walking the streets of Calcutta, tending to the sick, abandoned, and dying.

In time, others joined her, and the Missionaries of Charity were founded, growing into a worldwide order dedicated to serving the poor, sick and vulnerable. Mother Teresa became a global symbol of compassion, not because of great speeches or grand buildings, but because of her radical closeness to those whom society had cast aside. She tended wounds, lifted dying bodies off the streets, and reminded the forgotten that they were beloved children of God. For her, each suffering person was “Jesus in a distressing disguise” as she referred to. Her life was a living testimony that holiness is not found in doing extraordinary things, but in doing ordinary things with extraordinary love to ordinary people.

The Gospel for today speaks of the “new wine” of Jesus’ teaching that cannot be contained by old wineskins. Mother Teresa’s vocation was just such a new wine. She left behind the old wineskin of convent life and poured herself completely into the new mission God gave her. Her witness reminds us that the Gospel is always fresh, always challenging, always pushing us beyond comfort and convention. Like the new wine, God’s call can burst open our old patterns, leading us into unexpected places where His love is most needed.

Our watercolour by American artist John Alan Warford is beautiful in its simplicity: a tender, intimate scene of Mother Teresa gently tending to the wounds of a sick person.

DAILY PRAYER: Dear Lord, Please catch up to all of those we love who have not yet chosen You to be the center of their lives. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.

CANADA: Un-freaking-believable. CLICK https://x.com/mapleblooded/status/1963338814094541172 [1:30] to hear a chief of police tell citizens their best “defense” is to “comply” with home invaders, because supposedly that means they will just leave without hurting anyone.

EVANGELIZATION: [7:47] – Good thoughts from Father Mark about when and how to share our faith.

EVERYDAY HEROES: CLICK https://www.youtube.com/shorts/7dQunvtzdzM to hear how a taco changed a life. Many years ago, when we were going through a bad time, a couple we knew stopped by with a bag of groceries and a check for every penny they had made from their recent garage sale. Nobody can help everyone; but everyone can help someone. That being said, you can also be a kind and helpful person without letting users destroy you.

FLORIDA: Florida’s surgeon general, Dr. Joseph Ladapo, announced, “The Florida Department of Health, in partnership with the governor, is going to be working to end all vaccine mandates in Florida law. All of them. Every last one is wrong and drips with disdain and slavery.

“Who am I, as a government, or anyone else, or who am I as a man standing here now to tell you what you should put in your body? Who am I to tell you what your child should put in their body? I don’t have that right. Your body is a gift from God. What you put into your body is because of your relationship with your body and your God.”

HEALTH: Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. appeared before the Senate Finance Committee on Sept. 4 to defend the shakeup at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, including the recent termination of its director.

“These changes were absolutely necessary adjustments to restore the agency to its role as the world’s gold standard public health agency, with the central mission of protecting Americans from infectious disease,” Kennedy said.

The trannie who got him arrested has spent years terrorising people through legal actions, professional complaints and online harassment. The Brits sent five armed* police officers to Heathrow Airport to arrest Linehan for some social media posts he put out years ago. Linehan isn’t even a British citizen. He’s Irish.

DAILY PRAYER: Dear Lord, Awaken all of our senses to Your creation. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.

BORDER: CLICK https://x.com/i/status/1962634805373182405 to see the arrest of Ezequiel Cruz-Rodriguez (47) at the home where his wife operates a daycare. Cruz-Rodriguez is not only an illegal alien with three prior removals on his record, he is also a documented member of the Logan Heights gang which is composed of immigrants from Mexico and has links to Mexican drug cartels. Even worse, the scumbag is a convicted child sex offender.

While I was surfing for a good photo for this blerb, I discovered the MSN link to “ICE agents detain sex offender living in San Diego home day care” goes to a story about a hit and run accident. I created a compiled screenshot (above). See “VAXXINES” below for another Slime Stream Media cover up.

CONSTITUTION: A comedian was arrested at Heathrow Airport for having posted negative tweets about trannies. An in Australia, a woman has been convicted by a judge who declared, “I am satisfied that the defendant unlawfully vilified the Plaintiff … when she referred to the plaintiff as a male or a man.” We need to protect our 2d Amendment rights, so we can defend our 1st Amendment rights!

DEMOCRATS: Where was she when Biden couldn’t put together a coherent sentence?

FEDERAL RESERVE BOARD: [5:11] – On August 25, 2025, President Donald Trump announced that he had fired Lisa Cook from her position on the Federal Reserve Board for what he says was “deceitful and potentially criminal conduct.”

Cook was one of Joe Biden’s DEI hires; she was only confirmed after a 50–50 vote was broken by VP Harris. In addition to her academic fraud, Cook has also been accused of committing mortgage fraud. As we’ve seen with two other prominent Democrats, she has claimed two different properties were her primary residences in order to gain more preferable terms. One of the properties is in Michigan, while the other is in Georgia.

TRANS: [5:46] – I hope she sues and wins. Doctors need malpractice insurance which rates are dictated by the risk to the insurance company. The more successful, big ticket suits that happen, the higher the rates, the less the incentive for money-grubbing doctors to con parents into wrecking their kids’ lives.

VAXXXINES: After I CLICKed https://x.com/mazemoore/status/1962645215992254575 [:43] to hear Tony Fauci, I tried to track down some evidence that he was actually talking about mRNA vaccines. BABYLON BEE: In Clue: Liberal Edition, 3-6 players must solve the mysterious murder of Mr. Boddy, a cisgender white health insurance CEO, and compete to be the first one to blame the murder weapon.

When asked who the perpetrator of the murder was, Clue: Liberal Edition‘s designer Adrian Rance responded, “Perpetrator? Those don’t exist. The weapons — and only the weapons — are to blame.”

At publishing time, Hasbro revealed that Clue: Liberal Edition was set for release this fall and will retail for $29.99, plus a $19.99 tariff fee.

CDC: In August, Drs. Paul Thomas and Kenneth P. Stoller and Stand for Health Freedom filed a lawsuit in federal court, over the lack of testing for the CDC’s childhood immunization schedule. The vaccines are evaluated only on short-term, individual risk, never on the combined effects and accumulating dangers.

This reminds me of when I was pregnant with #3 when I had to have seven amniocentesis procedures to track the progression of her Rh disease. Each time, I was handed a consent form stating I understood that the procedure caused 1% of pregnancies to miscarry. Later on in the pregnancy, I asked, “What happens to this 1% with multiple procedures? Does it go up?” The staff member shrugged and said, “Nobody knows. There aren’t enough women who need so many to evaluate that.”

Well, they certainly can’t say this about kids who have had dozens of vaccine doses injected into them.

EVAN BARKER: Evan Barker entered politics early in life. As an ardent Democrat, she worked for Hillary, Barack, and Bernie. On August 24th, 2024, she left the party.

“In the past year, nearly all of my old political friends have stopped speaking to me. One of them said: “fascism doesn’t look good on you”, another said “why couldn’t you have waited until after the election?” The social ostracism has trickled out into my non political life, too. I’ve lost friends I’ve known for fifteen years. My toddler stopped getting invited to birthday parties. He was rejected from preschool. We even had to move to a new town.”

CRIME: From 1878 to 1967, Washington, D.C. was administered by a three-member Board of Commissioners with both legislative and executive authority, all appointed by the President. The board comprised one Democrat, one Republican, and one civil engineer with no specified party. The three Commissioners would then elect one of their number to serve as president of the board. While not quite analogous to the role of a mayor, the president of the board was the district’s Chief Executive. The last time a Republican held that position was from 1956 to 1961.

ELECTIONS: Some Democrats are expressing concern over the idea that ICE could or would patrol voting stations. But the “Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996” says in Section 215 that undocumented immigrants who attempt to vote should be deported.

SCIENCE: The photo above appeared in my FB timeline with the following –

THE ONLY BIRD THAT DARES TO ATTACK AN EAGLE IS A CROW, BUT THE EAGLE NEVER FIGHTS BACK. HERE IS WHY:

  1. The crow is the only bird bold enough to sit on the eagle’s back and peck at its neck. Relentless. Annoying. But the eagle… stays calm.
  2. The eagle doesn’t flap. Doesn’t fight. Doesn’t waste energy. It does one thing: It rises.
  3. The higher the eagle soars. The thinner the air becomes. The crow? It can’t handle the altitude.
  4. Eventually, the crow gasps. Loses strength…And falls off. Not because the eagle attacked But because the eagle ascended.
  5. Let the crows talk. Let them peck. You don’t have to respond. Just keep going higher.
  6. They can’t follow you forever. Your growth will suffocate their noise. So don’t engage. Elevate.

I thought it sounded fishy. Why would such a large bird be able to handle thinner air than a smaller bird? So I asked Grok. It turns out there is no scientific or ornithological evidence that an eagle can foil a crow attack by rising to an altitude too high for the crow to breathe. The corvid in the photo is actually part of a group that is driving the eagle away from its young. The behavior is called “mobbing.” As an allegory, the behavior works better as an illustration of communities working together to protect children from predators.

Minneapolis Shooting

Dear Lord, We ask Your gracious blessings on all those affected by this act of pure evil. Grant them the graces they need to heal in mind, body, and spirit. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.

Two children are dead after a Trump-hating trannie opened fire during morning Mass at Annunciation Catholic School. The shooter was also found dead at the scene. The 17 injured, who were mostly children, are all expected to survive. CLICK https://x.com/FoxNews/status/1960781221354475522 [:10] to hear a 10-year-old describe what he experienced.

Democrats sneered at Vance’s tweet. But if they’d done nothing, they’d have squee’d they didn’t care. It’s all getting so old.

Jen Psaki posted the atrocious thoughts above. J.D. Vance responded, “We pray because our hearts are broken. We pray because we know God listens. We pray because we know that God works in mysterious ways, and can inspire us to further action. Why do you feel the need to attack other people for praying when kids were just killed praying?”

The New York Slime reported that nobody has any idea what the shooter’s motive might have been.

CLICK https://x.com/GuntherEagleman/status/1960874477371208169 [2:23] to hear her Psaki weep about the shootings, then sneer at those who offer prayer, then worry over the safety of trans people all over the world.

CLICK https://x.com/TPostMillennial/status/1960734495184650705 [1:08] to hear Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey also mock prayer, then assure us all that “Minneapolis will continue to be a safe haven for the trans community.”

All of Minnesota too. Have any of the morons blaming Republicans for this even noticed that Minnesota is a blue state whose coocoo pants governor was recently the Democrat’s pick for Vice President? But yeah … let’s all ignore the fact that this was an anti-Catholic hate crime committed by an ardent member of the Leftist tribe.

CLICK https://x.com/GuntherEagleman/status/1960877631185760567 [2:33] to hear Psaki ask Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey how liberals can prevent the facts about the shooter getting out so they can blame the guns. It’s sickening to listen to this garbage from people like her who grab every opportunity to politicize and weaponize before the facts are in.

DAILY PRAYER: Dear Lord, Bless our children with all the graces they need to become truly holy. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.

1A: CLICK https://x.com/FoxNews/status/1960495188352045143 [:23] to see a man who claims to be a veteran “challenge” Trump’s recent executive order by burning a flag near the White House. He shouted into his bullhorn, “Burning this flag as a protest to that illegal fascist president that sits in that house. … There’s a First Amendment right to burn the American flag. No president can make a law, period.”

He was arrested, not for peaceful protest by flag burning, but because he set a fire in a public park outside a designated area. As for making a law, Trump did no such thing. He merely encouraged prosecutors to apply to flag burning the SCOTUS ruling that speech intended to incite violence is not protected under the First Amendment.

BIRTHRIGHT CITIZENSHIP: The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals recent rulin in Moncada v. Blinken could strengthen Trump’s efforts to stop illegals from dropping their so-called “anchor babies” on U.S. soil.

The case involved the son of a Nicaraguan diplomat who had assumed he was a citizen, because he was born here. When he applied for a passport, they told him he wasn’t eligible, because his father had had full diplomatic immunity. The court ruled that he is not a U.S. citizen, because IOW, he and his family had not been “subject to the jurisdiction” of the United States at the time of his birth.

Being “subject to the jurisdiction” means being under the complete legal authority of the U.S. government, including its laws, courts, and regulations. In United States v. Wong Kim Ark (1898), the Supreme Court ruled that the U.S.-born child of parents who were legal residents, though not citizens, was himself a citizen.

The question remains if those who are here illegally qualify as “subject to the jurisdiction” or not. IRS, anyone?

CABINET CLIPS: [5:05] – I asked Grok to explain Rubio’s joke about having four jobs. “The remark highlights Rubio’s unprecedented accumulation of high-level roles in the Trump administration, stemming from a series of appointments and interim assignments since his confirmation as Secretary of State in January 2025.The four jobs Rubio referenced are:

  1. Secretary of State: Rubio’s primary Cabinet position, confirmed unanimously by the Senate (99-0) on January 20, 2025. He leads the U.S. Department of State, overseeing foreign policy, diplomacy, and international relations.
  2. Interim (Acting) National Security Adviser: Appointed in May 2025 after President Trump removed Mike Waltz from the role amid a scandal involving unsecured communications (known as “Signalgate”). This position involves advising the president on national security matters and coordinating the National Security Council.
  3. Acting Administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID): Assumed in February 2025 as part of efforts to restructure and reduce the agency’s operations, including a freeze on foreign aid and significant staff cuts.
