Eighteenth Day of Advent

DAILY PRAYER: Dear Lord, Grant us peace in our homes, in our churches, and in our hearts. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.

EVERYDAY HEROES: [4:29] – I’m going to be thinking about this one for a long while.

FAFO: On Monday, Hunter Biden admitted to engaging in conduct “involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation” and consented to being disbarred in Connecticut. Last May, he was disbarred in D.C. for the same reasons.

FAKE NEWS: CJ Pearson posted the graphic above, but I added the ‘FAKE NEWS’. I said in his comment section, “CJ, I have followed you for a long time, but that ends today. I read every word of the linked story. Key point: ICE agents stopped her son. As soon as he produced his U.S. passport, they let him go. IOW, there was no nabbing, no showing up anywhere by Mommy Dearest, and no doing of anything ‘unthinkable.’ Bye, bye, CJ. My tolerance for fake news is ZERO, regardless of whose narrative it promotes.”

I’m not posting this here to pat myself on the back, but to let all y’all know that I want you to call me out if I fail to thoroughly vet a story. From Day #1, my goal as a blogger has been to uplift, entertain, and inform. If I get something wrong, I want to know about it, so I can fix it.

HISTORY: Families divided by MAGA will relate to this story. Benjamin Franklin’s only surviving son, William Franklin, was not merely a Loyalist; he was the royally appointed governor of New Jersey who believed deeply in the stability of the British Empire and saw the colonial rebellion as reckless and dangerous. When the Revolution erupted, he refused to abandon his oath to the Crown; arrested by Patriot forces and imprisoned for years, he was eventually released in a prisoner exchange and spent the rest of his life in Great Britain. He and his father never reconciled.

MEXICO: Under the 1944 Water Treaty, Mexico is obligated to deliver 1.75 million acre-feet over five years to the United States from the Rio Grande River. The United States in turn delivers 1.5 million acre-feet of water to Mexico from the Colorado River.

While Biden was in office, Mexico did not keep up their end of the bargain. So Trump threatened Mexico with higher tariffs. Problem solved.

I repeat EVERY human deserves respect during something like this. I am ashamed that you posted that. You must humble yourself and ask for forgiveness in what was a very HUGE lapse in judgment.”

When Mama Buzz was a wee one, she participated in a similar study, one aimed at discerning at what age and stage of language development kids understand the difference between the object and the subject in a sentence.

After answering questions about her language development, the researcher hooked her up to a device of some kind. While she sat on my lap, she watched a video showing made up characters with made up names perform a series of action that were described with simple sentences. E.g., puppet A gives something to puppet B.

The video played on a loop until the device showed my child had lost interest, at which point, the researcher brought the puppets into the room and asked her which puppet was which. Since the puppets were goofy looking and had made up names, she could only use the object and subject of each action she had seen to identify which puppet was which.

The main thing I remember (and still laugh about) is that my daughter beat every previous record for number of times she watched the video loop before losing interest. When I told the researcher, “Maybe that’s because we don’t have a television,” she looked thoughtful and suggested that might make an interesting thing to study.

While there, she visited a housing development to rail against gentrification; the rest of the time, she was enjoying 5-star luxury that she billed as “campaign” expenses.

Former White House press secretary, Sean Spicer, said, “These people … love to tell everyone what they should do about their carbon footprint, and then they fly private. They love to talk about the excesses of the rich and then they benefit from it, they trade stocks, they get rich in Congress. … The hypocrisy knows no bounds.”

Fourth Day of Advent

BIDEN: Just a little (cringe) flashback to what Jill did when she was the FLOTUS in charge of Christmas at the White House.

EVERYDAY HEROES: “Your body might break at times, but as long as your spirit doesn’t break, you’ll get through it, and get creative and find a way.” [25:12] – Amy Purdy lost both her lower legs when she was 19 years old. She went on to become a champion snowboarder and, in 2014, competed on Dancing with the Stars. Five years later, she suffered a massive blood clot in one leg that made it impossible for her to use a prosthetic.

LIFE: Last year, New York Attorney General Letitia James sued 11 pro-life pregnancy centers for allegedly spreading false and misleading information in violation of state business fraud laws. The Alliance Defending Freedom represented the centers’ right to inform women about abortion pill reversal.

Yesterday, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit ruled in favor of the pro-life centers, saying the First Amendment clearly protects their right to speak and their clients’ right to hear about this potentially life-saving option.

MIRACLE MINUTE: [7:40] – I was privileged to hear the testimony of an elderly lady in our parish who had kept her Lourdes miracle a secret for 13 years, lest the cancer return. It never did.

SCIENCE: FDA commissioner Dr. Marty Makary says that Pfizer’s experimental mRNA influenza vaccine will not receive approval because it showed “zero benefit” in trials.

“We’re not just going to rubber stamp new products that don’t work, that fail in a clinical trial. It makes a mockery of science.”

TRANSPORTATION: The Transportation Department has removed 3,000 commercial driver license training providers from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s Training Provider Registry government licensure requirements. An additional 4,500 training providers have been put on notice for possible noncompliance.

DOGE: Last week, agencies terminated 163 wasteful contracts, saving We the Taxpayers $647 million. HISTORY: Dearest had to drink goat milk. But he did not have to use the actual goat. 🙂

INTELLIGENT DESIGN: Flatfish start out symmetrical like other fish, but during development, one eye migrates to the other side of the body. They lie flat on the seafloor with both eyes facing up. They could not have evolved, because the intermediate forms have no survival value. Plus, they have been found fossilized in layers with many other varieties of fish.

GRAMMY NOTES: Prayers please for my daughter and her family. They lost a dear friend over the weekend and are grieving.

D.C.: Democrat leadership is on the wrong side of this one. [4:53] – Since the National Guard went to D.C., 48 homeless encampments have also been removed and 465 criminals have been arrested for parole violation, assault with a deadly weapon, assault on federal law enforcement officer, stabbing, robbery, attempted murder, and murder. At least one of those arrested is a member of MS-13.

HEALTH: Recreational water users should assume that Naegleria fowleri is present in warm freshwater across the United States. We are not like them

Clarence and Ginni Thomas have been married since 1987. The liberal white woman’s repeated statements that Justice Thomas is opposed to racially mixed marriages is both stupid and wrong. Not only is his wife obviously a Caucasian, but also Grok says “there is no evidence in his judicial record, opinions, or public statements suggesting he has advocated for banning interracial marriages.” Speaking to the liberal white woman’s repeated references to Roe v. Wade, that decision was about abortion, not racially mixed marriages.

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, the man Charlie Kirk would prefer be a role model to a young Black boy, has been serving on the U.S. Supreme Court since 1991. He has consistently interpreted the Constitution based on its original meaning and text, often rejecting precedent (stare decisis) when he believes it deviates from the Framers’ intent.

Thomas champions federalism as a limit on federal power, as seen in Hyatt, Shelby County, and his Dormant Commerce Clause critiques (Camps Newfound/Owatonna, Inc. v. Harrison). He argues the Constitution contains no “negative” Commerce Clause.

He has been a robust defender of free speech, gun rights, and executive power. Likewise, he consistently opposes affirmative action, abortion rights, and expansive criminal defendant protections. His lone dissent in cases like Dawson v. Delaware (1992) and concurrence in Missouri v. Jenkins (1995) reflect his willingness to stand alone.

Kendrick Lamar, the man the liberal white woman would prefer be a role model to a young Black boy, is regarded as one of the greatest rappers of all time. He was awarded the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for Music. Below are the lyrics from one of Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” which won five Grammy Awards in 2025 (Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song, and Best Music Video). It also won three BET Hip-Hop Awards, a Billboard Music Award, two NAACP Image Awards (Outstanding Song – Hip-Hop/Rap Song and Outstanding Music Video/Visual Album), and two ASCAP Rhythm and Soul Music Awards.

JACQUELINE DURAND: [13:05] – Jacqueline Durand suffered severe injuries from a vicious dog attack in 2022, resulting in over 800 bites and significant facial disfigurement. Fake News Hoax List – Part 1

RUSSIA COLLUSION HOAX: In 2016, the FBI launched an investigation called Crossfire Hurricane to follow up on claims that the Trump campaign had colluded with Russia to influence the election outcome.

The 2019 Mueller Report failed to provide conclusive evidence that the Trump campaign had conspired or coordinated with the Russian government’s efforts to influence the election.

The 2020 Durham report criticized the FBI’s handling of the notorious Steele Dossier and noted procedural flaws and confirmation bias in the Crossfire Hurricane investigation.

“HANDS UP! DON’T SHOOT!” HOAX: In 2014, an 18-year-old black man named Michael Brown was shot by police officer Darren Wilson in Ferguson, Missouri. Early witness accounts, particularly from Brown’s friend Dorian Johnson, suggested Brown was shot while surrendering with his hands up, saying, “I don’t have a gun, stop shooting!” However, examination of bullet trajectories and Brown’s DNA on Wilson’s gun, supported Wilson’s claim that Brown charged at the officer after a struggle.

Hands Up! Don’t Shoot! became a rallying cry for protests against police violence which protesters claimed was particularly targeted toward blacks. Black Lives Matter used it to raise millions, which the founders spent on themselves. Supporters of the phrase argue it doesn’t matter if Darren Wilson was justified in shooting Michael Brown, because cops are racists.

JUSSIE SMOLLETT HOAX: On January 29, 2019, a gay, black actor named Jussie Smollett reported to Chicago police that he had been attacked by two masked men who had beaten him while shouting racial and homophobic slurs. He also claimed they had poured bleach on him and placed a noose around his neck while yelling, “This is MAGA country!“

The story gained widespread attention, gaining Smollett tremendous sympathy. But when Chicago police investigated, they learned Smollett had hired the two men to stage the attack as a publicity stunt to boost his acting career. In December 2021, Smollett was convicted on five counts of lying to police.

COVINGTON KKKIDS HOAX: On January 18, 2019, a group of students from Covington Catholic High School in Park Hills, Kentucky, attended a March for Life in Washington, D.C. While waiting for their bus home at the Lincoln Memorial, the group was accosted by a Native American activist named Nathan Phillips, who was participating in the Indigenous Peoples March.

A short video of the event portrayed the students as aggressors who had surrounded and taunted Phillips. Longer videos later revealed a more complex situation, but the initial narrative led to the boys being doxxed, threated, and condemned to such an extent that the school had to temporarily closed due to safety concerns. As longer videos emerged, some media outlets and public figures retracted or softened their criticisms, acknowledging the complexity of the situation.

Nicholas Sandmann, the boy who had been most specifically targeted, filed defamation lawsuits. His suits against ABC and The New York Times failed, but he won $250 million from The Washington Post and undisclosed amounts from CNN and NBC.

“VERY FINE PEOPLE” HOAX: [2:10] – Trump’s 2017 Charlottesville comments were misrepresented to suggest he is a racist. The full context shows he was referring to non-extremist statue protesters, yet the “very fine people” lie has been repeated ad nauseum, even as recently as a year ago when Joe Biden was running for re-election.
