Fake News Hoax List – Part 2

SEVEN-HOUR GAP HOAX: In April 2022, the Left Stream Media pushed out a story that, between 11:17 a.m. and 6:54 p.m. on January 6, 2021, documented communication with allies occurred between then-President Trump and allies, including a call to Vice President Mike Pence. Yet, during this seven hours and 37 minutes period, the White House switchboard logs showed no activity presidential activity. This led to speculation of a cover-up, with suggestions that Trump used burner phones and/or had suppressed records.

However, CNN later reported that the six pages of White House switchboard logs for January 6 were complete, and the gap was likely due to Trump’s typical phone habits. He rarely used the switchboard when in the Oval Office, relying instead on staff-placed calls via landlines or cell phones, which were not logged by the switchboard. This was consistent with practices during other administrations, including Obama’s.

RUSSIAN BOUNTIES HOAX: In June 2020, The New York Times published a story claiming that Russian spooks had offered bounties to Taliban-linked militants in Afghanistan to kill U.S. and coalition troops.

The story further alleged that U.S. intelligence knew about it and had briefed Trump in early 2019. President Donald Trump denied being informed and called the story a “hoax” and “fake news,” arguing it was meant to damage him and the Republican Party during the 2020 election.

The Left Stream Media continued to push the narrative until April 2021, when the Biden administration admitted that the tale was based on sketchy sources, which forced Democrats and their shills to drop their narrative.

TRUMP TRASHES TROOPS HOAX: In September 2020 – i.e., the final weeks of Trump’s re-election campaign – The Atlantic published a smear story written by a well-known Trump basher and based entirely on anonymous sources.

In it, the author claimed Trump had canceled a 2018 visit to the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery in France, citing concerns about his hair in the rain and dismissing the importance of honoring war dead, reportedly saying, “Why should I go to that cemetery? It’s filled with losers.” The story also alleged he had questioned the value of military service during a 2017 Memorial Day visit to Arlington Cemetery, asking then-Chief of Staff John Kelly, “I don’t get it. What was in it for them?” The story also claimed Trump had called Marines who died at Belleau Wood in World War I “suckers.”

CLICK https://x.com/bennyjohnson/status/1303030811755716611 [3:13] to hear Trump talk about the allegations. Despite the lack of audio, video, or documented evidence, reliance on anonymous sources, and the timing during the 2020 campaign, Democrats, including Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, used the story during the 2024 campaign to argue that Trump was unfit to be Commander-in-Chief.

Fake News Hoax List – Part 1

RUSSIA COLLUSION HOAX: In 2016, the FBI launched an investigation called Crossfire Hurricane to follow up on claims that the Trump campaign had colluded with Russia to influence the election outcome.

The 2019 Mueller Report failed to provide conclusive evidence that the Trump campaign had conspired or coordinated with the Russian government’s efforts to influence the election.

The 2020 Durham report criticized the FBI’s handling of the notorious Steele Dossier and noted procedural flaws and confirmation bias in the Crossfire Hurricane investigation.

HANDS UP! DON’T SHOOT!” HOAX: In 2014, an 18-year-old black man named Michael Brown was shot by police officer Darren Wilson in Ferguson, Missouri. Early witness accounts, particularly from Brown’s friend Dorian Johnson, suggested Brown was shot while surrendering with his hands up, saying, “I don’t have a gun, stop shooting!” However, examination of bullet trajectories and Brown’s DNA on Wilson’s gun, supported Wilson’s claim that Brown charged at the officer after a struggle.

Hands Up! Don’t Shoot! became a rallying cry for protests against police violence which protesters claimed was particularly targeted toward blacks. Black Lives Matter used it to raise millions, which the founders spent on themselves. Supporters of the phrase argue it doesn’t matter if Darren Wilson was justified in shooting Michael Brown, because cops are racists.

JUSSIE SMOLLETT HOAX: On January 29, 2019, a gay, black actor named Jussie Smollett reported to Chicago police that he had been attacked by two masked men who had beaten him while shouting racial and homophobic slurs. He also claimed they had poured bleach on him and placed a noose around his neck while yelling, “This is MAGA country!

The story gained widespread attention, gaining Smollett tremendous sympathy. But when Chicago police investigated, they learned Smollett had hired the two men to stage the attack as a publicity stunt to boost his acting career. In December 2021, Smollett was convicted on five counts of lying to police.

COVINGTON KKKIDS HOAX: On January 18, 2019, a group of students from Covington Catholic High School in Park Hills, Kentucky, attended a March for Life in Washington, D.C. While waiting for their bus home at the Lincoln Memorial, the group was accosted by a Native American activist named Nathan Phillips, who was participating in the Indigenous Peoples March.

A short video of the event portrayed the students as aggressors who had surrounded and taunted Phillips. Longer videos later revealed a more complex situation, but the initial narrative led to the boys being doxxed, threated, and condemned to such an extent that the school had to temporarily closed due to safety concerns. As longer videos emerged, some media outlets and public figures retracted or softened their criticisms, acknowledging the complexity of the situation.

Nicholas Sandmann, the boy who had been most specifically targeted, filed defamation lawsuits. His suits against ABC and The New York Times failed, but he won $250 million from The Washington Post and undisclosed amounts from CNN and NBC.

VERY FINE PEOPLE” HOAX: [2:10] Trump’s 2017 Charlottesville comments were misrepresented to suggest he is a racist. The full context shows he was referring to non-extremist statue protesters, yet the “very fine people” lie has been repeated ad nauseum, even as recently as a year ago when Joe Biden was running for re-election.

DAILY PRAYER: Dear Lord, Thank You for the absolutely beautiful weather we had for “No King But God Day!” In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

2A: Chicago, Illinois, has some of the most stringent gun control laws in the nation. On July 3, a carful of young black men rolled up to a black rapper’s album release party in Chicago and shot 18 people. It’s likely most or all of them were also black. Four of them (two male, two female) are dead.

Although the police have not declared a motive, the Chicago Tribune noted that “for the past 15 years, Chicago’s drill rap scene has often been linked to fatal gun violence as rival artists with reputed gang ties trade insults and threats through their lyrics and social media taunts.

OBBB prohibits federal Medicaid funding to clinics that offer abortions for one year. PP claims it’s going to cause 200 clinics to close. We shall see.

The legislation also locks in Trump’s 2017 tax cuts and introduces new tax breaks — including deductions for tips, overtime pay, and auto loan interest — while also offering a special $6,000 deduction for seniors who receive Social Security.

At the same time, the Republican-backed bill enacts significant cuts to social programs such as Medicaid and food assistance designed to eliminate waste and fraud, eliminates tax incentives for clean energy, and overhauls the federal student loan system.

On July 3, 2025, he delayed a House vote on the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” by yammering from 4:53 a.m. to 1:37 p.m. EDT. At 8 hours and 44 minutes, he holds the new House record, previously held by then House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy at 8.5 hour record, set in 2021.

BORDER: JAG officers will be deputized to hear asylum claims. [3:14] – GROK says the zigzag thing is a myth. RATIO: When a tweet gets significantly more replies than likes or retweets, it is said to have been “ratio’d.” The disparity suggests far more people are criticizing or mocking the tweet than supporting it. Some of my favorite comments –

  1. Hey Keith, why don’t you tell us all about your awards and titles in the various competitive sports that you’ve played.
  2. What must it be like to be the stupidest prick to ever be fired from every media company you ever worked for?
  3. Lia Thomas has a wiener. It’s the only thing that separates you from him.
  4. Zip it, Democrat.
  5. You do realize Will “Lia” Thomas was ranked 462 in men’s swimming and wouldn’t have even qualified for races at that level if he had been swimming against other men?

SO MUCH WIN: Julie Jaman (82) has been awarded $65,000 settlement in her civil rights complaint against the City of Port Townsend and the Olympic Peninsula YMCA. In 2022, she was permanently banned from using the city-owned pool at her local YMCA for having objected to a trans man staffer watching minor girls change in the ladies locker room. The Center for American Liberty (CAL) represented her.

I never imagined that expressing concerns about the safety and privacy of women and girls would lead to me being shunned and banned,” Jaman said in a press release. “I’m grateful that justice has been served and that my voice was heard. This is a victory for common sense, women’s rights, and the right to speak the truth.

WOMEN’S SPORTS: Break out the Handmaiden costumes, girls; the Patriarchy has once again put us in our place. A “trans-identifying” (i.e., cheating mediocre male cos playing as a female) athlete won first place at the Lyons Masters National (women’s) Championships in Wisconsin on Tuesday.

The female who won the race, but had to take second, said she wasn’t even aware the trannie had registered for the event. “If I had known, I wouldn’t have spent thousands of dollars in travel and time off work to come and do a race.” When she objected, saying, “I don’t want to race against a man,” they told her “Oh, you can’t call him a man.”

My favorite comment – “A narcissistic man desperate to be good at something.”

LANGUAGE LESSON: In America, cumin can be pronounced KUM-in or KYOO-min. However, the Brits say KUM-in or KOO-min. Since KUM-in is correct in either place, remember the parachute and you’ll get it right wherever you are.

PROPAGANDA: I asked Grok, Did Joseph Goebbels say, “If you repeat a lie often enough, it becomes accepted as truth”?

Grok replied, The line is commonly attributed to Joseph Goebbels, but there’s no definitive evidence he said or wrote these exact words. The phrase is often linked to Nazi propaganda tactics, reflecting Goebbels’ role as Hitler’s Propaganda Minister, where he emphasized repetition to shape public belief. However, the earliest known version of this idea predates Goebbels, appearing in a 1914 book by Kate Upson Clark, The Sting of the Wasp, which says, “If you only tell a lie long enough, often enough, and loud enough, it will finally be accepted as the truth.”

Some sources suggest the quote is a paraphrase of Goebbels’ broader propaganda philosophy, as he wrote in a 1941 article: “The English follow the principle that when one lies, one should lie big, and stick to it.” This aligns with the concept but isn’t a direct match. Posts on X and various web sources repeat the attribution to Goebbels, but historians and fact-checkers, like those at Snopes, note the lack of primary evidence for the exact quote. It’s possible the attribution grew from his reputation rather than a specific statement.

So, while the idea fits Goebbels’ methods, there’s no verified record of him saying this precise phrase. The quote likely evolved from earlier sources and his general approach to propaganda.

TARIFFS: The Department of Homeland Security has collected more than $106 billion in tariff revenue since President Trump took office, and most of that — $81.5 billion — is directly tied to the new levies the president has imposed on worldwide goods.

WHAT IS A WOMAN: [1:07] – Democrat Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer demanded the Republicans Big, Beautiful Bill be read on the Senate floor. PSA: Genuine USPS messages never include links. [2:12] – There may be people who pay for those 50% off stamps and get nothing, but my daughter ordered some without thinking it through and got a package of legit looking stamps. We took them to the post office; the manager looked at them and said she would accept them, because they look real. I then called the local police and had a wonderful visit with the officer who came over. He agreed that they were almost certainly counterfeit, but looked so real, he couldn’t tell the difference either. We decided not to use them, because it felt like theft of services.

SCOTUS: Last week’s decision against judicial activists will grease the wheels on Trump’s efforts to stop cities from refusing to obey federal immigration laws; impose stronger voter ID and proof of citizenship requirements nation-wide; end DEI in public schools; block federal funding for medical providers who perform transgender-related procedures on minors; and, end USAID as a separate agency, canceling most of its programs, while moving the most important ones to the State Department.

DAILY PRAYER: Dear Lord, Grant us the graces we need to know You more fully, to love You more deeply, and to serve You more perfectly. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.

FREDDY: Yesterday, I reported on the airport security beagle who got kicked by the jerk whose luggage he outed. Today, Border Patrol posted, Thanks to everyone for their concern about Freddy who was injured while performing his duties at Dulles airport. He was treated by his veterinarian, and is expected to make a full recovery. Here he is enjoying his favorite comfort treat – a Pup Cup!

GROK: Dearest was suspicious of a text he got telling him UPS needed to schedule a delivery. I went to X and asked Grok if the URL was a scam or a genuine link. I got back “The URL https://www.ups.com@servicemik.cfd/us is not a genuine UPS link and is likely a scam.” It then gave us a detailed analysis, including the fact that the .cfd thing is used a lot by scammers.

LANGUAGE: Reply posted by Ahmed Saleh – Well, you see, after a thorough consideration of the available information, coupled with an exhaustive mental inventory of everything I’ve learned, observed, or experienced up until this moment, I must conclude that despite my best efforts to analyze the question from every conceivable angle, I am, regrettably, unable to provide a definitive answer to this question. In short, I don’t know.

I asked Grok at X. It said, “Half a dozen” is used instead of “six” for a few reasons. It’s a concise way to express the number six, rooted in the fact that a dozen is twelve, so half of that is six. The phrase carries a folksy, idiomatic charm, often used in casual speech or writing to add flavor or emphasis, like saying “a couple” instead of “two.” It can also imply an approximate count, suggesting a small, manageable group without being overly precise. For example, “I bought half a dozen eggs” feels more conversational than “I bought six eggs.” Historically, it ties to trade and commerce, where items like eggs or rolls were commonly sold by the dozen, making “half a dozen” a natural shorthand. Plus, it just rolls off the tongue nicely in certain contexts.

In short, it sounds folksy and is fun to say.

PSA: Voicemails are typically stored on the server of your cellular network provider, not directly on your phone.

SCOTUS: On X, @shipwreckedcrew wrote, The FACT that six Justices were OK with signing onto an opinion where Justice Barrett took a personal shot at Justice Jackson is a VERY STRONG indication that Jackson has alienated her colleagues and there is a growing lack of respect for her work. Justices circulate Memos among with their legal views on certain cases in order to bring others around to their thinking. Given what she has written in her dissent, imagine the memos that Jackson must have sent around in this case. Barrett aptly boils it down to a single point — Jackson would elevate the primacy of single district judges about the Executive because they are “the court” in the separation of powers.

Not The Bee (link below) highlighted some of the worst quotations from Jackson’s decision, including the use of the colloquial phrases “full stop” and “. . . (wait for it) . . .”

The thread on that post is an interesting read. Samples: My crystal ball predicts Jackson will be “pushed” out” forcing her to retire from SCOTUS. … Let’s be honest…in a non-DEI world, KBJ wouldn’t have made the top 50 list of candidates for nomination to SCOTUS. … Jackson was picked by Autopen to fill a quota. Another commenter noted that Jackson rudely failed to end with the customary “respectfully dissent.

GRAMMY NOTES: I recall reading about a longitudinal study that compared mortality rates for people who ate restrictive diets. The people in the middle, those who had eaten a balanced diet, lived the longest.

DAILY PRAYER: Dear Lord, Thank You for another day, Lord. May we each use it to Your glory. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.

CBP: Good riddance.

CONVICTED: On Friday, Felipe Orduna-Torres and Armando Gonzalez-Ortega were fined $250 ,000 each and sentenced to die in prison for their roles in stuffing 66 wannabe illegals into a tractor trailer without air conditioning. Fifty-three of their “clients” died inside the sweltering hot box. The dead included six children and a pregnant woman, so make that 54 who died.

DEMOCRATS: H.R. 6976, aka, the “Protect Our Communities from DUIs Act”, has been passed by the House; 160 Democrats voted NAY.

The roll call vote is recorded @ https://clerk.house.gov/Votes/2025183. I’m pleased to see my representative, who is a Democrat, voted YEA.

The full text of the bill is @ https://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/house-bill/875. Unlike many bills that have nice-sounding titles while being filled with pork, this one simply means what it says. That is, any illegal alien who drives while impaired is deportable. Whatcha wanna bet that “illegals who drive drunk vote Democrat” is the real motivation behind those NAY votes?

DEPORTATIONS: In the five months since Trump took office, 2,711 members of Tren de Aragua have been removed from our communities. TdA is one of the most violent criminal organizations in the world.

EDUCATION: Maybe the NEA has been wrong all these years that throwing more money at the problem will solve the problem.

FAIR SHARE: President Trump has convinced NATO nations to each spend 5% of their GDP on their own military defense by 2035.

FBI: Since Trump took office, the agency has arrested 4,000 violent criminals, a 62% increase from the same period last year, including three of the FBI’s Top Ten Most Wanted, an unnamed number of cartel leaders, 825 violent child predators, and 140 human traffickers. These arrests have helped bring the murder rate in our country to its lowest level ever recorded. Fibbies have also assisted other LEOs in apprehending 18,000 illegal aliens and arresting more than 700 rioters.

SCOTUS: There is a lot of chatter on the ‘net today about the Supremes’ 6-3 vote to stop activist judges from interfering with POTUS’ executive powers.

QUILT TERMS: [4:31] – When I was a graduate student in communication arts, my professor mentioned that the epitome of success in advertising came when a brand’s name became the public’s generic name. I was already familiar with products like “kleenex“, “saran wrap“, “band-aid“, and “post its.” Now I can add “jelly roll” to the list. 🙂

GRAMMY NOTES: I love Him too!
