Wednesday’s Path – April 13, 2011

By CtH

Did you know that the Big Bang produced only the lightest elements – hydrogen and helium? And that the rest of the material needed to create us and our beautiful world — e.g., carbon and iron — had to be literally cooked up inside of stars?

These stars had to completely use themselves up and supernova so that all these materials could be blasted into space and coalesce into our sun and solar system.

Since every cell, every molecule, every atom in your body is made from material that’s been on planet Earth since it first formed, every bit of you was once inside a star. In other words, you are literally made from stardust!

And that stardust body of yours was assembled and is maintained by the massive amounts of information encoded in your DNA.

Tonight, the Chosen One will descend from his throme om high and read to the unwashed masses from the Holy Teleprompter.
Having to extend the Bush tax rates has stuck in his craw since he was forced to sign it during the lame duck session. He resents not being able to shove his paws even deeper in our pockets. Not to say he’ll ever stop trying in the name of ‘social justice.’Thank goodness for cable.

I’ve never thought of creation like that – how poetic and beautiful! I love the idea that we all started as stardust. That has the making of a wonderful story for young children. A word and picture collaboration between FtN and you Chrissy????

Good idea! How did your bill-stopping endeavor go? I’ve been thinking about you and hoping that the legislators have learned to be more polite.

    • You’re right that it’s a “poetic” concept, but I’m a Genesis 1 & 2 creationist, and although I used to think that the Big Bang was a reasonable explanation for the existence of the universe, I’ve read so much since about the problems with this theory, that I had to let it go. The latest skeptic is the 12-year old super-genius who has made it his stated goal to disprove the Big Bang theory. His description of the problems he sees with it were somewhat over my head (not that hard, actually!), but he certainly knew his topic backwards and forwards.

The Big Bang is proof that the universe had a beginning and has a measurable age … an age that is too short to have allowed for evolution. The people trying to disprove the Big Bang are atheistic Darwinists, because they NEED the universe to be infinite and eternal.

        • Actually, Chrissy, I’m talking about creationist research here (although I don’t know about the 12-year old kid–he’s a genius, but beyond that I haven’t heard). There are numerous problems with the Big Bang Scenario, including retrograde orbits, red shift, and other complex stuff that makes my head hurt!!!

Here’s a sample article. There are lots more that have been done by creation science researchers, if you care to look for them.

I tend to be a “I don’t know how He did it, but He sure is amazing!” kind of believer. Big Bang, Genesis, whatever – God did it and I stand in awe. The details are not important in my mind. So stardust is good. Fanned with angel wings and warmed by His Grace. Works for me!

  3. The Time article on Obama’s mom seemed made-up ? Seems whenever there was a major event in her life, nobody was around to witness it. Hmmmmm.

    Then there’s Jack Cashill’s account:

  5. Good Morning. Ann Barnhardt ~AKA Dagny~ has an article at American Thinker. http://www.americanthinker.com/2011/04/the_keystone_of_the_islamic_mi.html
She’s someone that we can say we knew her before she was famous.

    • Barnhardt nails it. Imagine if we slaughtered muslims here everytime a bible was burned there.

Oh wait, they don’t just burn bibles, they slaughter Christians. It is a sick society we’re being way too politically correct with.

      • Thank you. It’s been a good day. This year I am even more grateful for our system of healthcare. It’s got kinks and needs a tune-up, but it’s the only reason that I still have my middle daughter. I learned I was pregnant with my youngest daughter right before I turned 40. That was 5 years ago; ~Not what I wanted for a 40th b-day~ my wish for this year is a successful transplant for my daughter.

Even us conservatives have our moments.
Rush was critquing the Chosen One’s speech today and went apoplectic. We all knew he would blame the debt on ‘trillions in unpaid-for-tax cuts for the rich’
How do you figure tax cuts are PAID FOR???? Its simply money those who worked for it got top keep instead of sending it to Washington for them to dole out to pay for voted with.
Rush was right-this was his first campaign 2012 speech.
