Love that Chris Christie ! I sent my kids to private school and still had to pay the taxes that supported public schools.

Ditto. And when we asked for some consideration here and there, we got sneered at for being “elitists.” Excuse me? I pulled my kids because they were allergic and the public school REFUSED to deal with it.
One guy who gave me that elitist line, I shot back a school variation about CHOICE and GOVERNMENT MONOPOLIES, then quoted just how MUCH public school tax money my kids were not using, despite having an absolute right to it. That shut him up. Hee hee.
I saw a report once showing that the Catholic schools alone saved New Yorkers a billion dollars a year. And that was back in the 90s.

I went back to work to pay for their education, and the gov/state/city made even more money off of me. Though middle child was special needs, the public schools did great with him from 3-22 years. I may have come out ahead afterall 😀

Christie could’ve responded, “By financing my children’s education myself, I am saving the tax payers of New Jersey $xxxxx a year in education tax dollars.” ::snerk::

Oh, I’m sure he thought of that too 😉 BTW, wasn’t he charged for taking state transportation to one of his son’s events? Which he paid back. So when the Obamas attend their girls events, are they paying back the fleet of SS cars required to travel x-miles and back. Hmmmmm?
I think Sarah Palin had to pay the state of Alaska back for taking her kids to official events (one of the numerous nuisance ethics suits filed against her). I think she had to reimburse the state for their lunches?
