Just posted Daniel Flynn’s “It’s Not Called ‘Dependence’ Day” on facebook. The Declaration of Mental Independence is a bit of history, about the state I reside in (Indiana), I did not know about and it made me laugh.
Here is a free read/book in pdf (can be read on computer, printed or put on an ereader) written by the daughter of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s daughter, Rose, and takes us through her journey from communism to libertarian (use for lack of better term) and includes her enlightening trip to Russia. Just got spinning around the liberal news sites, and the Casey Anthony not guilty verdict seems to be a victory for the left. Afterall, state government is bad and so are those evil prosecuters they employ. I never expected the death penalty (nor did I want that for the mom who drowned her young sons tied into their car seats and sent them rolling into a lake and the mom who drowned her 5 children in the home bathtub, both were nuts and got life on our tax dollar). I’m really okay with that, both women were nut jobs, though admitting their guilt.
BUT….
….a woman who misplaces her toddler for a month, parties like a she-animal in heat, blames an imaginary babysitter/kidnapper, continues to party. Uhm, she misplaced her toddler don’t forget……and not one count of child neglect? ::facepalm:

I’ll admit the case against her was very circumstantial, so I shouldn’t be as shocked as I am that she got off. I do agree, however, that she should have gotten something more than just lying to the police. The main difference between her and the other two women you mention is that they were having psychological issues that needed to be dealt with, whereas Casey Anthony is just a sociopath. She is incapable of forming attachments to other human beings and there’s no cure for that!

I’ll give them that much was not “proven” on the murder charges, but neglect or abuse seemed pretty darn obvious based on how long her child was missing and doing nothing about it, as well as the lying to account for it. THAT is the most bizarre part of the “not guilty” verdict in my mind
