Stuff like that happens all the time. You can call a toll-free number and make the accusation anonymously, and you won’t get in trouble if the accusation turns out to be completely ridiculous (or an outright lie). Many good parents have had their children taken away and their families and homes destroyed because of anonymous complaints from busybodies and troublemakers who go around falsely accusing people of child abuse and/or neglect.
