I admit that I did not think that he would fill that gym across the street, but apparently he did. There was a lot of traffic after it was over, about the same as when they have a big basketball game. The difference is that in over 25 years I have not had any trouble getting in/out of my driveway because people just let me through. But, oh, no. Not on Friday. Those little drivers in their mini-coopers, etc. just glared at me and hurried up to block my path. I finally got so frustrated that I just pulled onto the side of the road and drove right past them and right into my driveway. That is really the first time that people have been so rude. And I didn’t have any bumper stickers or anything. For all they knew I was a kindred spirit!
Another thing that I noticed was that were an awful lot of women my age in small groups walking down to the gym. It was demoralizing, just like that stupid polling group in the Daily Caller, who said the independents in Richmond were impressed with his ideas. I’ve got my work cut out for me.

Gets me wondering if Christian symbols have the same effect and if that was the real reason they are so rabid about it. I saw a local dem blog where the woman said would be going to a new polling place to make sure it did not have any religious symbols.
It seems the local district’s polling place was at one end of a long, skinny area so a church located in the middle volunteered some space gratis. For their courtesy, they got a visit from the Sight Police who had to ensure no poor voter might have to see and look away from an “offensive” symbol of the building’s purpose.
This same blogger also went on at length about how she just didn’t get the right’s infatuation with the flag. She said, “The Constitution I get. But the flag?”
Seriously, lady? You are so highly attuned to the symbolic power of a cross that you feel it is your bounded duty to go scout out a polling place that isn’t yours, but you don’t “get” that the flag?
The blindness of their own hypocrisy is astonishing. But based on this study, I’m wondering if she’ll suddenly wake up and realize the flag is a potent symbol and it needs to be REMOVED FROM POLLING PLACES.
That’d be an interesting fight. ::snort::

When we go to vote, the lady at the exit gives everyone a little sticker that says “I VOTED” with a picture of an American flag on it. (And this is a heavily Democratic area — Republicans are practically an endangered species.) I guess the anti-flag sentiment hasn’t infected everyone… yet.

Where I am, it goes beyond “heavily Democrat” into “favoring Socialism.” These morons think it’s way cool to wear Che and hang Lenin on the wall.
