Ok…I seriously wanted to know what she said, so I watched it about one thousand times. The people who posted the video claim she says “All that for a flag?” I could almost immediately tell, that’s not what she said. So, after my one thousandth view, I am convinced she actually said, “Did they have to use that flag?” Input please?
Note: The commentary with the video explains that the ceremony included unfurling a tattered U.S. flag, which I presume may have been damaged in the attacks.

I think you got it, Rose. Can’t tell what the stress is though. When I first read your comment, I thought it was “THAT flag” as in “that tattered flag not a nice new one.”
But after watching the whole video, the tremendous ceremony of unfolding, holding through the wonderful rendition of the anthem, the refolding and placement, saluting, the Obama’s twin sneers and knowing how the Left feels about the flag, I think it was a general “ew someone farted” reaction to the central place that was given to the U.S. flag, not that specific flag.

Next topic- The picture of Bush and Alibama during memorial. Well, the latter cannot put head down during Christian prayer as it is equated to bowing down to the Infidel’s God. Head MUST stay straight up, extreme opposite of any semblance to being humbled before The King of Kings, The Almighty, The Holy of Holy, The Awesome Wonder, God The Father, Jesus Christ, The One True God. And that, my dears, is my take on his head in the air. It is not arrogance as we all have pondered.
Another topic- Did not, I repeat, did not like O’s (and that is not ‘O’ as in abbreviation for ‘orgasmic’) smile when responding to Michelle’s little comment. My little mind hears MafiaRose’s hard-earned insight, “Did they have to use that flag?” followed by O’s thought, which made him smile, “Yep, and ‘they’ are always talking about loving the flag and they use a damaged one. Hypocrites, my enemies the Tea Partiers.” And not only is he smiling over his thinking he found a “gotcha moment”, but it is most likely the first time he has been, uhm, hard when in such close proximity to Mitchelle.
Next is a question. There was another guy in a video, I think Pete posted yesterday, that also tossed his flower. His face is blurred out. Who is that masked man?

Found this about the flag: What was the significance of the tattered flag unfurled during the national anthem?
This is the same flag that flew over the World Trade Center site for nearly two months after the 9/11 attacks. It originally flew atop a building near the twin towers and it was recovered after 9/11. It is 20 feet by 30 feet and it was stitched back together by heroes from all 50 states. Tattered or ripped American flags are not supposed to be flown, but this flag became a symbol of American community and resilience.

It boggles my mind that these two morons could behave like this. Are they so DUMB that they don’t realize a large percentage of voters love the flag and feel strongly about 9/11 and LIKE ceremonies?
Never mind how badly their behavior reflects on their own patriotism, what about the sheer DISRESPECT they showed for the obvious care, attention and hard work the participants put into the ceremony?
They have to know they’re on camera all the time and that it’s up to US to decide if they get to be pampered as American Royalty at our expense for another four years. How STUPID do they have to be to do something so gratuitously rude?

Thanks so much, Chrissy. I was wondering about that flag, and knew it had to have some significance. In the video that Rose linked above, when the choir was singing the national anthem, I couldn’t help thinking that the flag that inspired Francis Scott Key to write the poem probably looked something like that (only with fewer stars) — a little the worse for wear, but still flying in spite of the “perilous fight” that was taking place all around it.
