For the record

NOTE: My family has had numerous contacts with good, peace-loving Muslims. I do not condemn all Muslims any more than I condemn all priests for the sins of the tiny number of pedophiles who have caused so much damage to individuals and to the institution they were sworn to serve.

I think the good people who practice Islam are in a tough place and I pray God will grant them the graces they need to combat the extremists who violate the rights of others to live and worship freely.

“The Quran’s that were burned had been written in by inmates. That in itself is a violation of the Quran. The only sanctioned mode of disposal for a defiled Quran is to burn it. Which is what they did.”

In May 2009, military personnel threw away, and ultimately burned, confiscated Bibles that were printed in the two most common Afghan languages amid concern they would be used to try to convert Afghans.

Did Christians riot? Did any of us murder anybody?

We did not.

Gingrich says Obama “surrendered” by apologizing to Afghans – February 23, 2012

Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich said President Obama “surrendered” Thursday when he apologized to the Afghan government for the burning of several Qurans at an American military base near Kabul, noting Obama had not called on the Afghan government to issue an apology for the deaths of two NATO soldiers who were killed by a man wearing an Afghan army uniform.

“There seems to be nothing that radical Islamists can do to get Barack Obama’s attention in a negative way,” Gingrich said, “and he is consistently apologizing to people who do not deserve the apology of the president of the United States, period.”

“If Hamid Karzai, the president of Afghanistan, doesn’t feel like apologizing, then we should say, ‘Goodbye and good luck, we don’t need to be here risking our lives and wasting our money on somebody who doesn’t care.'”

“In Dearborn Michigan it is like being in a Middle Eastern Country. The Islamic call to prayer blasts out all across the city on loud speakers several times a day. The Christian churches around Dearborn cannot ring their bells because it offends the Muslims.”

  1. Chrissy,I must respectfully take issue about ‘good muslims,’I don’t have the skin in the game that you do,but the good muslims dare not speak out on pain of death.I read this week where a man in Iran converted to christianity and refusing to renounce his faith,is scheduled to be executed if they have not already done so.
The freedom to worship as you please is a basic tenet of how our country was formed and achieved greatness.I have no problem with anyone practicing their faith, but I refuse to suborn what I beleive for fear of offending anybody. You cannot reason with fanatics when the conversation begins with your destruction.
In the UK,70% of babies are now born to immigrants. The Brits foolishly welcome these people in and don’t understand why they refused to assimilate, but take advantage of all the governmental benefits.Radical Islam is spreading globally like a pernicious virus that may eventually consume all.
They have no regard for human life and obsess with killing non-believers at every opportunity.
I can sympathize with the innocents,as we did in WWII before we went nuclear. When dealing with an enemy who is a religious fanatic your choices are kill them or eventually they will kill you.

One of my kids worked closely with two heroic Iraqi Muslims who were murdered by a terrorist bomb, thankfully for me, AFTER my kid’s time with them was over. These men were the sole providers for their families and knew very well what their support for a free, tolerant Iraq could mean to them and their entire extended families. They are only two of the Muslim heroes my kids have told us about. They have also shared some of what they saw among the extremists. Violence, hatred, total disregard for their women and, in many cases, little or no true religious faith. This is why I never refer to the bad guys as plain Muslim, but always extremists or something similar.

  2. My heart breaks for all the innocents who live under the spectre of brutality and pain for no reason than a perverted ideology.I wish more people in this country would have the scales fall from their eyes and realize if we do not remain vigilant there is a possibility we could see the same here.I’m sickened when I see the barbaric practice of ‘honor killing’ and murdering their own daughters is justified in their twisted minds.
