I think there is something missing from this story. It is too far fetched and very fishy, especially since Madigan is behind it.
And I also have a problem with this law. We had a rental house, and the deadbeat liar who we rented to did not pay any rent for almost a year. We had to spend money for a lawyer and then we still could not get her evicted because they did not want to put this “poor” woman (who owned a giant flat screen) out on the street. So WE got stuck paying for her living expenses! It was infuriating. If I am going to pay for someone’s housing, it will be someone I know and care about.
Finally, we got her out, but she had caused a lot of property damage and taken things out of the house that belonged to us, such as a fireplace screen and a washing machine.
Landlords have no recourse against deadbeats already in IL. What do we do if we cannot get cops to serve notice? It will cost us even more. Oh yeah, we “won” a lawsuit, but only the lawyer got paid. You can’t squeeze blood out of a turnip.
This law seems like another move towards Agenda 21. Make it too miserable for people to invest in second homes and rent them out. Keep all poor people in govt. run only housing where they are controlled. Take away any law that will benefit a home owner. The only landlords will be uncle sam. Getting rid of home ownership is a major component of Agenda 21.
Lisa Madigan and her dear step father who has controlled the IL house for decades are the reason IL is at the bottom of the slime pit. Any law they push is very suspicious. Of course, they will get people to support it by press releases like the one above.

My folks had a rental once with a tenant like your nightmare. The place was so trashed after they finally got rid of her, they turned it into storage for their business.
When I wanted to go to grad school, they offered it to me free as long as I wanted it, if I helped clean and repair. I still get the heebie jeebies about how FILTHY it was. I couldn’t even go into the bathroom. My father LITERALLY had to use a paint scraper on the floor, the dirt was that thick.
Then he moved something and dozens of empty tampon tubes fell out. She’d been stuffing them behind a kind of radiator cover thing, right next to the toilet, maybe because the logical place for a trash can, under the sink was all of 6″ further? That was the smallest bathroom I ever saw. I literally could not dry off without smacking my elbows on the walls. Come to think, maybe she was too lazy to empty trash.
Anyway, your point about govt housing finally makes some sense of why lefties are so AWFUL to landlords. I’ve never gotten it before, why they act like people who invest their own money, time and effort … it’s NOT easy!! .. in providing housing for people who aren’t ready or willing to own should be treated like Nazi war criminals.

I had to read this, because I have seen the Mythbusters episode about how it is virtually impossible to get electrocuting from peeing on the third rail. The article not only explains he FELL on the third rail, but also cites the Mythbusters LOL.
The problem is that men do not produce a steady enough stream to conduct electricity. Pee does conduct and the third rail is lethal, but like any electrical connection, the conduit has to be continuous and male pee breaks up into droplets.
I didn’t see any mention of alcohol, but I’d be surprised if an ex-Marine weren’t pretty stoked up after a baseball game. They do sell beer at the stadium, don’t they? And it is really easy to trip when you’re tipsy. Also to make dumb judgment calls, like going near the third rail to pee when you’re half in the bag.
I’m sorry for his family. What an ignominious way to go!

People are not told how much donating a kidney affects the health of those who do. My SIL gave a kidney to her alki brother to save his life. Then he went back to drinking and is now dying. Meanwhile, she has had nothing but health issues since she gave this gift to him.
Unless you love someone dearly, and they deserve it, never donate an organ until you are dead.

One of my most devoted bloggy listers is one of the underground ringleaders of the conservatives at a liberal university. He claims he forwards my emails to 400! I thought he was exaggerating until he told me about the thing they organized just through email to spoof the obnoxious lefties.
This is too funny … a conservative speaker was coming to campus. Maybe Coulter? Not sure. Anyway, the Lefties have a history of depriving Rightists their Free Speech rights with loud demonstrations, so the Righties advertised the talk, but told their own to gather elsewhere, near by.
The speaker came on stage with almost nobody in the audience. The Lefties crowed, the press took their notes and pics of the pathetic turn out, and then they all left.
Once the coast was clear, the thousands who wanted to actually HEAR the speaker, came in! LOL

It is so shameful the way we are being lied to about autism. The latest is 1 in 88 as they continue to push more and more vaccines on our kids, even telling pregnant moms to get flu shots. It is appalling. My SIL has cannot find a program for her 18 year old, yet they cut funding in IL for special needs kids while propping up the unions with increased taxes.
