When I finish today’s post I have to go to the county courthouse to get a copy of my birth certificate.(Yes,I have one!) because I’m filing for retirement next week.With my luck I’ll have to stop by Home Depot and get an illegal to carry my BC since its probably chipped in stone.Which reminds me I still owe Jesus three bucks.How old am I really?I can remember when the Dead Sea was just ailing.

Remember when the US made great cars? They were meant to last. Then the motown cabal decided that they could get by with cheaper parts if they talked people into buying cars more often instead of paying for costly repairs. Along came the Japanese, with their well oiled machines that were also cheaper, and Americans got over their buy American mentality. That is why Detroit failed Joe, and your Dad had a hand in it if he was in the auto biz. The US auto industry got careless and greedy. Your administration’s bail out of the auto industry was appalling. No one wants a chevy anymore. They have become Yugo’s.
I have an 11 year old Toyota with almost 200,000 miles and it is still humming along. No rust anywhere, even with the Chicago winters. I will drive this car into the ground. And then I will probably buy another one.

In college I majored in English and minored in Theater Arts.Being short and not particularly athletic,I discovered music and acting as a way to express myself.Also the ability to make people laugh helped me avoid getting the crap kicked out of me every day.

I was an English major too, Pete. I chose English primarily because it was the only major offered at my college where you got to read real books instead of textbooks. Of course it meant that my parents shelled out thousands of dollars for me to spend four years reading books that I could have read for free at the public library, but that was their choice. 🙂

Does anyone else find it ironic that, for years, they’ve been saying the world would end in 2012, because that’s when the Mayan calendar ends. Then in 2012, they suddenly discover another older Mayan calendar that goes on into eternity! It’s like the tree falling in the forest…if they hadn’t found the new calendar, would the world have continued on? Now we will never know!!
