Forgot to mention that when I was looking at Queen E with brolly pics, I noticed she has a whole rainbow of those clear with colored rim and she color coordinates them with her ensemble, which I just found utterly charming.

    • Queen Elizabeth has class, which is something the Obamas know absolutely nothing about.

I’m reminded of a scene in Seventh Heaven where the white minister’s family had started hanging out with a black minister’s family.

The two oldest boys were about the same age, but weren’t getting along. Finally white boy challenged black boy about his attitude and black boy spewed about how RAAAAAAAAACIST white boy was, because he always seemed afraid of him because he’s BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK.

White boy said, “I’m not afraid of your because you’re black. I’m afraid of you because you’re always so angry, I never know when you’re going to just GO OFF on me.” They ended up rooming together in college.

I see this attitude in the Obamas. They’re Black and Angry About It. They see EVERY snub as a direct result of what they apparently seem to think is the only thing about them that matters. Their melanine count.

S’far as I can tell, it never occurs to them that people may not CARE about their skin and are reacting badly to them because of their poor behavior. I’ve seen time and again when they made zero effort to be courteous to others in ways that their POSITION demanded and for which they have, or should have, PROTOCOL people to prep them.

E.g., like trying to shake hands with a Marine who was in mid-salute or making a warrior in dress blues carry a brolly. Bowing. Sending nobody to Maggie T’s funeral. I could go on, but what’s the point. We’ve all watched in disgust, along with the equally disgusted leaders of other nations who admit freely that they have no respect for our president who campaigned on how much Bush had damaged America’s standing in the world.

        • Yep, that about sums it up.

It’s really sad that that chip-on-the-shoulder attitude is so common among American blacks — not all of them by any means, but enough that it doesn’t surprise me when I encounter it. Every now and then I’ll be out shopping, and when I get to the checkout, the cashier will be a black person who is all smiles and seems just way too happy to be working at one of the kind of not-very-classy establishments that I patronize — and in such cases I’m never surprised when the person speaks to me in very heavily accented or even broken English. An immigrant. Someone who came here because he actually (gasp!) wanted to be an American… because with all of its many faults, America is still the best place in the world to be black.

I remember a black soldier who had deployed to North Africa saying he was really grateful his ancestors had been sold into slavery; otherwise, he’d be living in some backwards third world crap hole.

            • As a person of pallor, I’m not supposed to say this, and if I did it would surely be condemned as hate speech… but whenever I hear a black American demanding reparations for slavery, what I wish I could say is, “You’ve received reparations already, in the fact of having been born in the United States instead of Africa.” Americans of whatever color are free to criticize the USA for all of its many sins of omission and commission, both past and present, but for some reason you never see large numbers of them heading for the exits.
