MONDAY MORNING MUSINGS

Stopped at Meier this morning. Was a little sad as I passed the Halloween candy display. They had those peanut butter thingys in the orange and black wrappers. I used to eat them by the bag. I now have type II diabetes. Can’t have them anymore.
Also bought a 5# bag of russet potatoes. Sign said $1.19. Got home and looked at the receipt. I picked up the wrong taters. These were organic potatoes. $4.49/bag. I’ll be taking them back tomorrow while I’m on my route.
Took DW to our granddaughter’s softball game yesterday then to Steak and Shake for lunch. They’re featuring a caramel apple shake for the season. DW made a face I’ve rarely seen since our wedding night.
Coming back from WalMart a little while ago we ended up behind a black Corvette driven by a geezer about 75 years old. He was doing 30MPH. I wasn’t aware Corvettes went that slow.
Yesterday was Rosh Hashana. I’ve been looking to find the article about the celebration Obama surely held at the White House for all his Jewish friends. He DID, didn’t he? He’s never missed a muslim holiday…ever.
I’ve seen a few articles about European countries realizing what they’re doing and cutting off the flood of Syrian “refugees.” 75% of them are military age cowards too afraid to fight for their country but they want to screw up somebody else’s.

I believe in the Rapture and I believe it is imminent. But really … if you are a believer, you should not need to believe either of these things to know that you need to be ready to meet Our Lord at a moment’s notice.
Anyone could die at any moment, with no warning.
- I had a cousin who was feeling a little off, but nothing that made him concerned enough to see his doctor. When his wife woke in the morning, his body was cold.
- I had a friend who was driving his grandson somewhere; obviously he felt fine or he would never have been behind the wheel, particularly not with a child in the car. He started to feel bad, so pulled off the highway and died.
- My girlfriend’s mom was visiting a friend. She put her head back on the couch and died.
- My childhood pastor was hale and hearty. He had a headache one afternoon, so laid down for a nap and died.
Don’t wait to get 100% right with the Lord. If you’re Catholic, get your butt into the confessional. If you’re not Catholic, do whatever it is you do the examine your conscience and clear the slate.

Hillary’s problems not right-wing conspiracy
The right-wing hasn’t got the juice in the federal government to get anything done that Obama doesn’t want done. Washington Times columnist and Fox News contributor, Monica Crowley, says it’s part of an ongoing feud between the Clintons and President Obama. Crowley believes Obama wants Hillary out of the race so he can get the nominee he wants to succeed him.

The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control has temporarily closed two of South Carolina’s three abortion mills for health violations, including expired medications, incomplete records, improper disposal of infectious waste, and noncompliance with the Women’s Right to Know Act, which imposes on abortion a 24-hour waiting period and information on fetal development and ultrasound services. If the clinics do not correct the deficiencies by the end of the month, they will be shut down permanently.

Love the meme, but not the science
This funny meme has appeared in my Facebook Timeline several times recently.
I tried to research these numbers and found the following points of interest.
One, this article says nobody really knows how many polar bears there were in 1960. Al Gore was born in 1948, making that 7,000 number highly questionable.
Two, this article suggests 26,000 is the best median guesstimate for current populations, making that 30,000 number also suspect.

The Congressional Judiciary Committee has begun investigating Planned Parenthood. One of the first witnesses was Priscilla Smith, a Director and Senior Fellow at the Program for the Study of Reproductive Justice at Yale Law School.
One of Ms. Smith’s statements exposed the spiritual death inflicted on those who insist on supporting abortion. Her statement both horrified me and made me deeply sad.
Dismemberment abortion (aka, D&E) is the most popular method used by abortionists on second trimester fetuses. This is how this procedure was described by a man who does them:
A second-trimester D&E abortion is a blind procedure. The baby can be in any orientation or position inside the uterus. Picture yourself reaching in with the Sopher clamp and grasping anything you can. At twenty weeks’ gestation, the uterus is thin and soft, so be careful not to perforate or puncture the walls. Once you have grasped something inside, squeeze on the clamp to set the jaws and pull hard – really hard. You feel something let go, and out pops a fully formed leg, about 4 to 5 inches long. Reach in again and grasp whatever you can. Set the jaw and pull really hard once again, and out pops an arm about the same length. Reach in again and again with that clamp, and tear out the spine, intestines, heart, and lungs.
The toughest part of a D&E abortion is extracting the baby’s head. The head of a baby that age is about the size of a plum and is now free-floating inside the uterine cavity. You can be pretty sure you have hold of it if the Sopher clamp is spread about as far as your fingers will allow. You will know you have it right when you crush down on the clamp and see a pure white gelatinous material issue from the cervix. That was the baby’s brains. You can then extract the skull pieces. If you have a really bad day like I often did, a little face may come out and stare back at you.
Congratulations! You have just successfully performed a Suction D&E abortion.
- “A really bad day” was one on which he felt the Holy Spirit desperately trying to awaken him to the monster he had become.
- A really good day would have been one on which he reeled in horror and threw himself on the mercy of God.
When Ms. Smith was asked if being torn limb from limb was “a humane way to die,” she said, “Yes, D&E abortion is a very humane procedure.”
Later in the hearing, Rep. Forbes noted that pro-abortion witnesses seemed incapable of finding any point at which abortionists went too far or were too brutal. Yet, “they dare suggest that we are extreme.”
