Democrats’ empty anti-Trump stunts have made the Senate a circus
Perhaps the sound and fury will cease by the time Neil Gorsuch’s Supreme Court nomination comes up. At least nine Democratic senators have said they oppose a filibuster, and that includes well-left-of-center types like Chris Coons (Del.), Dick Durbin (Ill.) and Richard Blumenthal (Conn.).
On the other hand, the party’s base hasn’t yet started demanding scorched-earth tactics on the high-court fight, and the senators have plenty of time to “discover” reasons to change their minds.
Until top Democrats are willing to stand up to the angry left, the kabuki theater will continue.
THE DEMOCRAT PARTY HAS LOST ITS MIND… AND ITS SOUL
My theory is that meeting back in early January laid the groundwork for how Congressional Democrats were going to prevent Donald Trump from being able to assemble his Cabinet.
I think they nailed down the strategies they would use to demagogue, slander and delay the Cabinet confirmations.
But it’s more than that.
I also believe it was this meeting with the Community Organizer that laid out the plans for the protests and obstructions we’ve been witnessing from Democrat leaders over the last few weeks.
Look, nothing the Democrats do is spontaneous. Nothing.
And all of it would come to a head as soon as the Community Organizer-in-Chief was safely out of Washington. That way, Obama could appear to remain out of the fray.
But trust me, this fray has his fingerprints all over it.
It’s just the kind of agitation and disruption Barack Obama perfected during his time in Chicago.
No president has ever had so few cabinet members confirmed at this late date, just as no president has been confronted with such open talk of assassination and impeachment.
Speaking of which, have you heard a single Democrat decry the talk of assassination? Have you heard a single Democrat denounce the violence carried out by so-called protesters?
In any case, the responsibility of leadership eludes him. Democrats created their own problems by blindly agreeing to all of Barack Obama’s ultra-liberal policies, and the fed-up response of Republican voters was to nominate Trump.

I really felt sorry for all that BS he had to listen to. He had to stay a Senator until they could get DeVos confirmed. I think it would have not been so ugly if the Dems hadn’t got all riled up over DeVos first. They are just having hissy fit after hissy fit these days and I am worn out just thinking about it.

It’s clear that requiring voter ID encourages voters, but as Pete noted, this is of no concern to the dishonest Leftists who just want to keep their power. This graphic shows what happened in Georgia. I remember reading that Mexico’s very strict voter ID law had a similar effect. People who had always felt the system was rigged, so their votes didn’t matter, began to vote!

Isn’t it rather demeaning for a man who only last month was the most powerful figure in the world to be gurning for the camera in his swim shorts with a businessman who is surely Britain’s most egregious self-publicist?
All in all, it is a wondrously symbolic picture that tells us so much about why voters on both sides of the Atlantic rejected their elitist establishments. Both men are losers, of course.
In Sir Richard’s case, he is a loser because he campaigned loudly for Britain to remain in the European Union, and then refused to accept the result when the people voted for Brexit.
As for the former President, he is a loser because he, too, argued vociferously, and cynically, against Brexit. He famously tried to interfere in this country’s national referendum when he threatened that leaving the EU would mean we went ‘to the back of the queue’ for a trade agreement with America.

Elias may follow his Mama’s pattern of sleeping in a cardboard box until the crib arrives! They JUST moved into their first house and JUST ordered the nursery stuff. THEY thought they had a whole month to go. Elias thought differently. Baby’s are like that! LOL
