BACK THE BLUE: [6:49] – The body cam footage above was released after the driver circulated his own “share and tage” video claiming he was stopped and punched for Driving While Black. The caption on his video claimed he was beaten so badly that he needed 9 stitches and suffered a concussion with short term memory loss. The cop’s full footage shows he persistently refused to obey a lawful order and, at worst, got slapped a few times while resisting arrest. I also notice his post doesn’t mention his seat belt, which was off until after his buddy started filming. The officers were cleared of criminal charges, but one was suspended pending an internal review. I’m guessing it’s the one who reached into the car and smacked the kid. Yes, he was being an ass. But cops are supposed to be able to stay calm regardless.

LIFE: Two gay “married” men hired Brittney Pearson to create their “dream family” via surrogate birth. While pregnant, Brittney received a breast cancer diagnosis and decided to deliver the baby so she could receive chemo. But the purchasing couple didn’t want a preemie who might have health problems and the live-born baby be “immediately terminated.”

When Brittney refused to kill the baby, they threatened legal action. When she offered to adopt the child, they demanded a death certificate. Surrogacy laws in California gave no rights to Brittney or the baby, who died shortly after birth. Brittney has described her experience as a surrogate as feeling like “a rented-out uterus.”

Because that is exactly what she was.
