The National Review has confirmed the vile text messages he sent, wishing death on his opponent and his opponent’s children, are real. In fact, Jay Jones has admitted he sent them.

Republican Delegate Carrie Coyner has also reported on a 2020 conversation she had with Jones about qualified immunity for police officers. She had warned him that ending those protections would get officers killed. His response was, “Well, maybe if a few of them died, then they would move on, not shooting people, not killing people.”

Under Virginia law, it is a felony to “knowingly communicate … a threat to kill or do bodily injury to a person.” Yet, Jones has yet to lose a single Virginia party endorsement.
