FDA: More evidence that this gummint agency is not working for We the People, but instead for the Depopulate Useless Eaters Global Elites. Last month, the BMJ published a paper entitled “How the FDA approved an antipsychotic that failed to show a meaningful benefit but raised the risk of death.” It begins, “In trials, brexpiprazole failed to provide a clinically meaningful benefit and it increased mortality, but the FDA fast tracked its approval and the sponsor predicts $1bn in annual sales.”

Brexpiprazole, branded as Rexulti, is the first antipsychotic approved to treat agitation in Alzheimer’s patients, despite the fact that it increased patients’ risk of death by fourfold while apparently having little impact on agitation.

The efficacy of drugs for treating Alzheimer’s dementia is based on a scale called the Cohen-Mansfield Agitation Inventory (CMAI) that measures 29 behaviors. Caregivers assign a score of 1 to 7 for each behavior, for a total score of 29 to 203. To determine effectiveness, a patient’s score must change by a value of 17 after 12 weeks on the drug. Brexpiprazole trials showed only a 5.3-point maximum reduction in CMAI scores.

IOW, it is neither safe nor effective. The FDA approved it anyway.

GRAMMY NOTES: This stuff is delicious. Since Dearest and I are somewhat allergic to wheat and don’t tolerate gluten very well, we only have bread occasionally. This is my current favorite form. It keeps well in the freezer and toasts up beautifully. Last night, I made open-face sandwiches with a fried egg which I topped with chicken salad. I added some strips of mozzarella and popped them into the toaster oven long enough to melt the cheese. Yummy!!

2024: The latest WaPo/ABC poll shows voter preference as Trump 51% vs. Biden 42%. WaPo tried to say this was an outlier, but according to Real Clear Politics, only one of the presidential approval polls shows a spread of less than 9 points, while the biggest spread is a whopping 20 points.

2A: On Friday, a federal judge ruled that California’s attempt to ban gun magazines that can hold more than 10 rounds violates the Second Amendment rights of firearms owners. In his decision, the judge wrote, “The history and tradition of the Second Amendment clearly supports state laws against the use or misuse of firearms with unlawful intent, but not the disarmament of the law-abiding citizen.”

CLOWARD-PIVEN STRATEGY: In 1966, Columbia (Communist) professors named Richard Cloward and Francis Fox Piven published a plan to destroy America. They theorized that overwhelming our social welfare systems in the name of “compassion” would allow elitist Democrats to gather unto themselves all the powers of the local and state governments.

In 2014, Tyler Durden wrote, “In light of the Cloward-Piven Strategy, which is at its very core a method to artificially induce crisis, the otherwise insane policy actions of the Obama Administration and preceding puppet presidents now become perfectly logical.” I would add “and current puppet president” to that list.

COVID-19: The Mayo Clinic now lists hydroxychloroquine as a treatment for certain ‘rona cases. “Hydroxychloroquine may also be used to treat coronavirus (COVID-19) in certain hospitalized patients. Hydroxychloroquine should only be used for COVID-19 in a hospital or during clinical trials.

IMMIGRATION: In 2013, the Romeikes fled Germany where they were being persecuted because of their religious conviction that they should be the ones directing their children’s education. In the face of overwhelming public pressure, the Obama administration granted them “indefinitely deferred action status.” Since then, the family has added two more children and two of their adult children have married U.S. Citizens.

Then in September 2023, without any prior warning or explanation, they were told they had four weeks to get out of the country. Germany’s opposition to homeschooling has only increased in the last 10 years, making criminal charges against this family all but certain upon their return.

NEW JERSEY: On Friday, Sen. Bob Menendez, D-NJ, and his wife Nadine were indicted on bribery charges. Like his close ally, Joe Biden, Menendez is a self-professed Catholic who supports abortion. The indictment says the pair “agreed to and did accept hundreds of thousands of dollars of bribes in exchange for using Menendez’s power and influence as a Senator to seek to protect and enrich Hana, Uribe and Daibes and to benefit the Arab Republic of Egypt. Those bribes included cash, gold, payments toward a home mortgage, compensation for a low-or-no-show job, a luxury vehicle, and other things of value.”

ODIUM FIDEI: “Hatred of the faith is one of the unmistakable signs of Satan’s presence. The contemporary destruction of churches and religious statues, the public rejection of the faith, the hatred toward the church and those who minister therein, and attempts to expunge the faith from society ultimately find their source in Satan’s hatred of Christ and his church.” – Monsignor Stephen Rossetti

OIL: On Thursday, a federal judge ordered the Biden administration to expand its sale of the Gulf of Mexico oil leases, under their original conditions, by Sept. 30. He wrote that the administration’s attempts to stop the leases appeared to be more “a weaponization of the Endangered Species Act than the collaborative, reasoned approach prescribed by the applicable laws and regulations.

TEXAS: On Friday, Gov. Abbott announced that he is adding two more departure points for busses carrying illegals to Democrat-led, self-proclaimed “sanctuary cities.” This move adds Eagle Pass and El Paso to the ongoing state bus operations in Brownsville, Del Rio, Laredo, and McAllen.

VAXXX: The CDC’s COVID-19 safety report only covers data through Oct. 23, 2022. When asked for an update, the agency’s spokesperson admitted they have the information; they’re just not going to give it to us. And they wonder why we don’t trust them.

DEMON-CRATS: Yes, Virginia. They do worship Satan.

Alaska – A recent meeting of the Kenai Peninsula Borough meeting opened with this invocation: “That which will not bend, must break, and that which can be destroyed by truth should never be spared as demise. It is done, hail Satan.” Several attendees walked out as about 40 others protested outside.

Florida – A recent meeting of the Pensacola city council opened with an invocation by David Suhor, co-founder of the local chapter of the Satanic Temple. In response to the hundreds of Christians who prayed in protest, Suhor demanded “quit pushing Christian privilege.”

Texas – A recent meeting of the San Marcos City Council opened with an invocation by a representative of the Satanic Temple of Austin, ending with “Hail Satan.” Close to 100 people gathered outside City Hall to express their concerns and opposition.

BORDER: In August, 304,162 people were apprehended by Border Patrol while crossing the border illegally, surpassing the previous record of 302,412 from December 2022. These numbers are five to ten times higher than the average monthly totals seen during the Obama and Trump administrations.

DRESS CODES: Democrats are pandering to John Fetterman’s disrespectful dress and vile speech because they need his vote. But he would not be allowed to dine at some of the best restaurants in Manhattan. A NY Post reporter dressed as Fetterman does was denied entrance to Daniel, Le Bernardin, Jean-Georges, and The Grill. In fact, The Grill wouldn’t even let him into the lobby.

DRUG SHORTAGES: A recent survey of pharmacies found that essential drugs – from chemotherapy and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder meds to much-needed anesthetics and popular diabetes and weight loss drugs – are in short supply. I remember this being mentioned back when the ‘rona first hit. As I recall, it was because China was hit so hard by COVID and way too many of our pharmaceuticals depend on ingredients produced by the ChiComs.

FAUXTUS: Dementia Joe’s other flubs this week included forgetting to shake the hand of the President of Brazil then walking into and nearly knocking over the Brazilian flag, confusing the names of Syria and Libya, forgetting the names of members of his administration, and praising the Congressional Black Caucus while speaking to the Congressional Hispanic Caucus.

FETTERMAN: Stroke Boy isn’t just a disgrace in his attire. He also has a potty mouth. On September 20, 2023, he presided over the Senate looking like he had just come from the gym. Afterwards, he mocked those of us who think he should show our highest legislative body the respect it is due saying, “The world didn’t spin off its axis” because he didn’t wear a suit and tie.

He has also referred to his dress code critics as “ding-a-lings” and opined that “if I take up vaping and grabbing the hog during a live musical, they’ll make me a folk hero.”

She graciously shared her beautiful home with us every February for the last 15 years. I’ve taken hundreds (if not thousands) of photos over the years, so have lots of material to work with. A lot of beautiful memories and many brush miles ahead.” – Shared with the artist’s permission 🙂

NORTH CAROLINA: The state legislature has passed a new two-year budget agreement that includes funding for K-12 tuition vouchers for all parents who apply. Republicans have had a supermajority in both Houses of the North Carolina legislature following Rep. Tricia Cotham’s decision to switch parties in April. She says her decision to cut ties with Democrats was inspired in part by the attacks she and her children have endured over her support for universal school choice.

GRAMMY NOTES: When my friend arrived quite late to one of my kids’ things, she apologized for missing the turn Dearest had told her about. “If he’d said, ‘Turn left at the black cows, I would’ve been on time!” I told her I was really sorry he’d done the directions, cuz I totally would’ve told her to turn left at the black cows!

Long COVID

Post-COVID-19 condition (PCC), commonly referred to as Long COVID, is defined as persisting symptoms 3 or more months after the initial SARS-CoV-2 infection that cannot be explained by an alternative diagnosis. The symptoms reported most often were fatigue, shortness of breath, muscle, joint and chest pain, headache, cough, loss of taste and/or smell, and diarrhea.

A study entitled “Association between virus variants, vaccination, previous infections, and post-COVID-19 risk” was published in the International Journal of Infectious Diseases on August 25, 2023. Researchers compared the risk of developing PCC after infection with the original Wuhan virus, plus the subsequent Alpha, Delta, and Omicron variants.

It found that the people most likely to develop PCC had been infected with the original, now-extinct Wuhan strain; other risk factors included female sex, smoking, obesity, and other comorbidities. Vaccination had no impact on a person’s risk of developing PCC from Alpha, Delta, or Omicron; however having recovered naturally from a previous infection reduced the risk by 86%.

Dr. Joseph Varon, chief of the Critical Care and COVID-19 Department at the United Memorial Medical Center, noted one flaw in the study’s design; it did not look at whether the Fauci Ouchi put people at greater risk of developing Long COVID. Dr. Varon says this is what he has been seeing in his clinic.

What I’m seeing is that the higher the number of boosters that you have, the more chances … you’re going to have long haul syndrome,” he said, adding that the majority of his long-haul patients are those who took four or more doses of the vaccine rather than those who took up to three doses or were unvaccinated.

Narcissism

Feel free to disagree with or ignore any of the people I’ve matched up with the various types of narcissism. I put them in mostly as graphic breaks to make it easier for you to follow the text, plus maybe a little bit to make you go “Hmmm.”

1. Overt narcissism is also known by several other names, including grandiose narcissism and agentic narcissism. Someone with overt narcissism might come across as outgoing, arrogant, entitled, overbearing, having an exaggerated self-image, needing to be praised and admired, exploitative, competitive, lacking empathy. People with overt narcissism are more likely to feel good about themselves and less likely to experience uncomfortable emotions like sadness, worry, or loneliness. They also tend to overestimate their own abilities and intelligence.

1a. Antagonistic narcissism is a sub-type of overt narcissism. With this aspect of narcissism, the focus is on rivalry and competition. Some features of antagonistic narcissism include arrogance, a tendency to take advantage of others, a tendency to compete with others, disagreeableness and a propensity to argue.

1b. Communal narcissism is another sub-type of overt narcissism, and it’s usually seen as the opposite of antagonistic narcissism. Someone with communal narcissism values fairness and is likely to see themselves as altruistic; they will tend to be easily morally outraged, describe themselves as empathetic and generous, and react strongly to things they see as unfair. However, their behavior will not demonstrate genuine concern for the well-being of others.

1c. Malignant narcissism is another sub-type of overt narcissism. Someone with malignant narcissism will have a strong need for praise and to be elevated above others, while also demonstrating vindictiveness, sadism (getting enjoyment from the pain of others), aggression when interacting with other people, and paranoia (heightened worry about potential threats). Someone with malignant narcissism is more likely to experience legal troubles or substance abuse.

2. Covert narcissism is also known as vulnerable narcissism and closet narcissism. Common traits of someone with covert narcissism include expressions of low self-esteem, higher likelihood of experiencing anxiety, depression, and shame, introversion, insecurity or low confidence, defensiveness, avoidance, tendency to feel or play the victim. Covert narcissists have a hard time accepting criticism but where an overt narcissist will find someone else to blame, a covert narcissist will internalize criticism, taking it more harshly than it was intended. Deas was taken into custody without bond on charges of armed robbery, aggravated assault with intent to commit a felony, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, grand theft of a firearm and illegally carrying a concealed firearm. The gun Deas used was stolen cuz, you know, bad guys don’t care about gun control laws. Or any laws for that matter.

Designing Trio Blankets

I absolutely LOVE the Trio Blanket crochet pattern by Susan Carlson. https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/trio-blanket. This is one of hers.

They are so fun to crochet, because the colors shift every ten rows or so and it’s all just threes, so I can watch a movie and not mess up. Also, there is no weaving in at the end or need for a border to strengthen the sides, because the three cakes of yarn are continuous. Finally, the finished blanket is everybody’s favorite, because it is not just gorgeous, but also soft and light-weight with a wonderfully luxurious drape.

There are only two tricky parts. One is turning with three cakes attached; I love this pattern so much that I bought three wooden crochet bowls for the cakes. The other tricky part is designing them. They are made with Scheepjes (sheep yes) Whirl Cakes @ https://www.jimmybeanswool.com/knitting/yarn/Scheepjes/Whirl.asp. There are FIFTY different options, each with multiple color changes within the cake! Even after narrowing it down, the permutations of middle to outside vs. outside to middle add to the confusion … or glory, depending on how much one enjoys designing. ::I LOVE it::

I want to make a Trio Blanket for Bootz’s First Holy Communion gift and invited him to help me design it. The kid’s got an EYE. He came up with some yarn combos I wouldn’t have thought to try. He came up with the 6 three-somes (above). But it doesn’t end there. For each combo, there are four permutations, which makes for a staggering amount of choice.

While I was puttering with Paint, trying to make graphics to help him figure out his #1 favorite, I figured out a great way to design these things. First, I did a graphic of each cake, with its name, and a copy/paste clip of the most representative cross section. Then I combined the three cakes on to a single template where I could copy/paste the cross sections to show the four permutations.

I was having so much fun, I worked up a design I’ve had in mind for ages for my peacock-loving daughter. I grabbed a photo off the net and matched up the yarns as best as I could. Scheepjes Whirls sadly do not have any cakes with that brilliant turquoise, but I really like the combo I came up with. Maybe one of these days, I’ll even have time to make it. I’m a slow crocheter; each one takes me up to 6 months to complete … which is probably not a bad thing, since the yarn costs $100 per blanket. Yoiks.

1A: Hundreds of students from Pennsylvania’s Perkiomen Valley School District walked out of class after the local school board approved male trannies use of female bathrooms and locker rooms. The male student who organized the protest said he did it to protect the girls. “We wanted to protect them. They were upset. They didn’t want men in their bathroom.”

EDUCATION: In response to an Ontario provincial directive, at least one public high school in Ontario has removed every book published prior to 2008. And just to assure you this truly is a 1984/Fahrenheit 451-ish scenario, any books deemed “not inclusive, culturally responsive” enough to be “suitable for any learners” are being destroyed rather than donated.

GROOMING: Bryce Thomas Van Vreede, who goes by Nova Caine when in drag, is a special education teacher at Pulaski High School near Green Bay, Wisconsin. Parent have reported that he has directed students to his social media accounts on Instagram and TikTok handles (novacaine_queen), which contain shockingly explicit photos of his sexual perversions. Apparently, the only thing that happened after the school administration heard about this was his social media accounts were switched to private. For now.

IMPEACHMENT: The U.S. House of Representatives will hold its first impeachment inquiry hearing on Sept. 28. It will focus on “constitutional and legal questions surrounding the president’s involvement in corruption and abuse of public office.

MEDIA: George Soros and his globalist cronies now own 22 formerly respected newspapers – 5 daily and 17 weekly – in the swing state of Maine.

PAY GAP: In 2020, a paper entitled “The Gender Earnings Gap in the Gig Economy: Evidence from over a Million Rideshare Drivers” found that there is a 7% pay gap between male and female drivers. It also found that this pay gap is not the result of gender discrimination, but rather of gender-based differences in driver behaviors. IOW, they found again what honest researchers have found before.

READING SCIENTIFIC STUDIES: The article at the link is very interesting and helpful for anyone who, like me, wants facts, but has little to no science background for evaluating studies. Mostly, I depend on knowledgeable resources like the scientists at Consumer Lab, Igor Udov at Substack, and Dr. John Campbell at YouTube/Rumble to explain studies to me in lay terms. But occasionally, I want to dig deeper on my own. Here are some important points the author of Modern Discontent makes …

  1. Most media outlets report on studies based solely on the contents of the abstract, which in many cases, is the only part of a study that is available online for free.
  2. About 25% of the abstracts attached to published studies present the findings in ways that are inconsistent with the actual findings.
  3. The methods section is important. E.g., One study that has been cited quite often by Ivermectin critics includes one in which the Ivermectin group was given Ivermectin only once. The researchers then pronounced that Ivermectin was useless and the lapdog media reported it over and over and over.
  4. A good place to look for deceptive reporting is if the text describing a graphic does not match the graphic.
  5. There is no perfect way to read a study, but this method helps one avoid being overwhelmed by the sciency stuff in the last Results and Methods sections: Title → Abstract → Introduction → Discussion → Results → Methods.

S&G: An estimated 1,000 “canine people” protested at Berlin Potsamer Platz railroad station in Germany, communicating only by howling or barking at one another. That kind of thing used to be considered a BDSM kink. Now its practitioners are demanding rights.

In it, researchers report that, contrary to what we were told when the mRNA serums were rolled out, they do not stay confined to the injection site, but rather spread systemically throughout the body and into breast milk. This is not the first study finding COVID vaccine mRNA in breast milk.

None of the products were free of VOCs. However, “across the group of 30 products tested here, green cleaning products emitted fewer VOCs and fewer hazardous VOCs than conventional products, and overall fragrance-free products had significantly lower emissions.”

TRUMP: CLICK https://twitter.com/DeSantisWarRoom/status/1703410253918883897 [1:08] to hear his current position on legal abortion. Sadly, he thinks six week bans are “terrible”, but it sounds from the rest of the clip like he is primarily concerned with being realistic about the political landscape. I can’t like it, but he sounded open to the possibility of a federal ban after 15 weeks, which would save a lot of lives in deep blue states like mine where babies are being torn limb from limb after they are capable of experiencing excruciating pain (about 20 weeks) and after viability (about 28 weeks).

CatholicVote President Brian Burch noted, “Pro-life Catholic voters helped deliver him the White House in 2016, and a record number of votes in 2020. He cannot expect to win again without these same voters.” The problem there is that he is the leading (by a lot) Republican candidate who has any chance of winning. All the Dems, including RFK Jr., support zero restrictions. As Catholic voters, our mandate is to vote for the most anti-abortion candidate, not to hold out for all or nothing.

UAW: Less than two weeks after President Joe Biden predicted there would be no strike, the United Auto Workers announced they are striking.

It was tested on a total of ten mice. 2. It’s based on a variant of Omicron that is rapidly going extinct. 3. The Omicron causes a cold.

Our CDC recommends that everyone ages 6 months and older receive the updated (2023–2024 Formula) mRNA COVID-19 vaccine. But in Great Britain, the NHS says these shots will only be available to those who are 65 years or older, with some exceptions for those with certain co-morbidities or a work environment that puts them at increased risk.

GRAMMY NOTES: This is a crop from Rembrandt’s Prodigal Son. I was struck by the son’s feet. His right foot appears to be wrapped in rags and, where his heel was exposed, has been cut by a stone on the road. His left foot is bare, because he has kicked off his left shoe, which reminds me of how God in the burning bush told Moses, “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.” –Exodus 3:5. It is such a striking image of how we come to God the Father in poverty and humility, aware of our sinfulness and of His holiness.
