COMMIE ZOOS: Visitors to a zoo in southwestern China were left shocked and confused when they saw a golden retriever in the African lion enclosure.

Apparently, this habit of substituting dogs for other animals has happened at other Chinese zoos. Two others substituted dogs for wolves, and when asked, one of the zoos said the wolf was just hiding but dog was better anyway because it was “more active.”

I have zero trouble imagining this, since I saw it myself when I visited Budapest, Hungary, in the summer of 1965. We visited the zoo there. My worst memory of the place was seeing a filthy dog laying listlessly on its side in a tiny cage, not much bigger than an airline crate.

GRAMMY NOTES: I’m really excited about my latest Grammy project. My girls all love to cook with their kids, but they can’t find real oven mitts for small hands and their little ones struggle to use pot holders safely.

So, I bought a sewing pattern for adult oven mitts and figured out how to modify it for small hands and they turned out great! The real-oven-temp insulation is too thick to use on the outsides, so I only used it on the palm where they will be gripping hot pans. For the back of the hand and wrist, I used a layer of flannel which, with the canvas outside and quilting cotton inside, I think should be enough to avoid burns from brief brushes with hot things.

Then, bonus, I realized the canvas I had gotten for the mitts would be awesome for aprons. I’ve made all my grands aprons, but I have always used quilting cotton. Using canvas for the body of the apron with quilting cotton for the binding-ties works so much better! I already have rave reviews from the first mama who got these red ones. Blue and green apron and mitt sets are coming soon, all chosen to match their kitchen decor. 🙂

On Holy Saturday, Christians remember that while his dead body was laying in a tomb, Jesus’ soul “descended into the dead,” as the Apostle’s Creed says. HATE CRIME: On Monday morning, in Midtown Manhattan, a racist Black man brutally beat an Asian woman who was walking to her church. As he punched and kicked the 65-year-old woman, he yelled, “F–k you, you don’t belong here.”

Video footage of the assault shows the suspect not only kicked the woman as she lay on the sidewalk, but also stomped her in the head several times. The victim suffered a fractured pelvis, but is listed in stable condition.

Several men reportedly watched the incident without trying to either help the woman or apprehend the attacker.

YOUTUBE: On March 22, 2021 the Dove was permanently banned from YouTube. The Dove has over 40 years of providing hope and giving a Biblical perspective to current events. Over 15,000 interviews and segments had been posted to YouTube with millions of views. YouTube deleted it all.

YouTube said the Dove was booted because of repeated violations of the platform’s policies concerning “COVID-19 misinformation and presidential election integrity.” Translation: The Dove offended the Left by expressing opinions and presenting evidence that didn’t line up with the Left’s political agenda.

YouTube has demonetized and suspended Steven Crowder’s channel for “violating our presidential election integrity policy.” Crowder said his real crime was practicing investigative journalism about election integrity.

TRANS: If Gov. Noem had signed it, HB 1217 would have protected females in high school and college from having to compete against biological males claiming to self-identify as females.

Noem got a lot of blowback when she sent the bill back to the legislature, asking for various “style and form” changes. Those changes were rejected by the legislature for making the bill harder to enforce at the high school level and exempting the collegiate level entirely. It has been speculated that Noem did this following pressure from the NCAA.

In response to the down vote, Noem sent a letter to House leaders confirming that the bill is effectively vetoed, while claiming that the legislature’s refusal to make her recommended changes are what vetoed it, rather than her rejection of the bill.

Despite the veto, HB 1217’s fate is not yet sealed. APP’s director of policy and government affairs Jon Schweppe reports that the state legislature is currently weighing its options, and may be able to override Noem’s veto. Two-thirds of each chamber must vote yes to override a veto in South Dakota; the bill originally passed by more than enough votes in the House but would need an additional four votes in the Senate.

The majority overall said YES (75%). The majority of Black voters said YES (69%). The majority of Republicans said YES (89%). And the majority of Democrats said YES (60%).

The Democrats who control the Oval Office and have slim majorities in the House and Senate are pushing a bill that would make voter ID laws illegal across the country.

Democrats cry RAAACISM, because requiring voter ID supposedly discriminates again minorities who are apparently all too stupid to have or obtain the photo ID that is required for so much else in modern life – e.g., getting into the Democratic National Convention.

Yet photo voter Ids are SOP in much of the rest of the world — including poor, war-torn regions such as Uganda and Iraq. In Mexico, the voter ID card has become the primary identification document for Mexicans, because it is so secure. Applicants have to go in to apply and get their photos and thumb prints taken, then return in person to pick it up when it is ready.
