Bits & Bytes

2020: Polls – Sharyl Atkisson at Just the News notes a few trends that should encourage us.

  1. Biden vs. Trump gambling odds have shifted from 61% vs. 36.4% on Aug. 1 to 50.7% vs. 48.3% on Sept. 1.
  2. Trump is behind in all but one battleground state (NC is tied), but he is slightly ahead of where he was at this point back in 2016 when he won the election.
  3. Trump’s daily total approval rating among likely voters is frequently better than President Obama’s was at the same points in his presidency.

Also, a LOT of Obama’s first time voters defected in 2012, when he won anyway. But do any of us know of ANYONE who voted for Trump in 2016 who is planning to vote for Biden this time?!

BIDEN: Fracking – On Monday, Slow Joe emphatically stated, “I am not banning fracking. Let me say that again. I am not banning fracking, no matter how many times Donald Trump lies about it.

Except (as the video shows), he has said repeated that he will ban fracking. CLICK [:57] for a split screen version of his flip flop.

BIDEN: In April 2019, Slow Joe kicked off his third presidential campaign by endorsing ANTIFA.

Now that the Left has figured out that their support for rioting and looting is hurting them in the polls, Joe Biden has suddenly come out with a law-and-order statement.

Rioting is not protesting. Looting is not protesting. Setting fires is not protesting … it’s lawlessness, plain and simple,” said Biden on Monday.

Yeah … well … ANTIFA’s violent methods may be really out there now, but they were well documented in April 2019 too.

BIDEN: Violence – On Monday, Slow Joe claimed he condemned, “violence of every kind by anyone, whether on the left or the right.

Yeah. No.

During the entire four days of the Democrat convention, not one of the speakers had a word of condemnation for the rioting, looting, and soaring crime rates in Democrat-run cities.

Not Biden, not his running mate, not nobody.

CALIFORNIA: CLICK [2:37] – Nancy Pelosi is above the local coronavirus rules barring indoor personal-care services.

FLORIDA: CLICK [4:00] – Gov. DeSantis promises that Florida will never shut down again.

OREGON: [:18] – Day 96 of Portland “mostly peaceful” rioting took “protesters” to Portland’s pro-protest, Democrat Mayor Ted Wheeler’s apartment building on Monday night. While there, they started a fire in the street, set off loud fireworks, and chanted ‘happy tear gas to you’ on his 58th birthday.

TENNESSEE: Since 1994, Rep. John DeBerry has represented the Memphis area in the Tennessee state legislature. He is also a minister in the Church of Christ.

In April, the Democratic Party tossed him out, saying his commitment to defending the rights of the unborn does not reflect the party’s values.

My work in Nashville as a legislator is nothing more than an extension of my work as a child of God, as a Christian,” DeBerry says.

And I take to heart Ephesians chapter 6, ‘We wrestle not against flesh and blood’—people are not the enemy, but there are those who make laws that are blasphemous of God’s law.”

WASHINGTON, DC: Dan Bongino explains the latest weirdness in Mike Flynn’s case of “legal dodge ball”, beginning at about 31 minutes. (Before that, he talks about Biden’s speech. After that, he talks about the rage mobs.)

Short version: District Judge Emmet Sullivan is a political hack in a robe who is trying to drag the case out until after the election in hopes the Democrats win and they can relitigate the disgusting lynching of Flynn.

Justice delayed is justice denied.

CATHOLIC: During the French Revolution, the government confiscated the Catholic Church’s French land holdings, destroyed monastic orders, and demanded clergy swear allegiance to France before the papacy.

Priests were required to take an oath which amounted to a denial of the faith. Blessed John Francis Burté and 184 others who refused were arrested, imprisoned, and ultimately executed.

COVID-19: Hydroxychloroquine – Countries with early widespread HCQ use had significantly fewer COVID-19 deaths per million.

The people who demonized this life-saving drug have blood on their hands.

DEFUND POLICE: Reality check [5:51] – Defunding police will aggravate, not solve the problem.

IN DEFENSE OF LOOTING: A Riotous History of Uncivil Action by Vicky Osterweil – “Osterweil argues that stealing goods and destroying property are direct, pragmatic strategies of wealth redistribution and improving life for the working class.”

The blerbs are from Amazon, where the book sells for $16.99 in Kindle or $21.03 in hard cover. Or take Osterweil at his/her transgendered word and loot one from your local retailer.

All our beliefs about the innate righteousness of property and ownership, Osterweil explains, are built on the history of anti-Black, anti-Indigenous oppression.”

I’m sorry, but what the aitch ee double hockey sticks is this noodle brain talking about?! Animals scent mark and defend their territories and every two year old I ever met knew instinctively what “mine!” means.

Sheesh.

USPS: The media is pushing a new fake news conspiracy theory to try and score political points against the Trump administration. This one claims that veterans aren’t getting their prescription drugs delivered in a timely way for the U.S. Postal Service. It’s a lie.

VA fills more than 150 million prescriptions each year, and about 86% of them are delivered through the U.S. Postal Service. Most veterans are satisfied with our service, which is most recently getting prescriptions to veterans in an average of 2.89 days — faster than our target of three to five days.”

ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WordPress has officially FORCED DOWN MY THROAT a new and VERY CONFUSING editor.

But wait … I have a “very simple” option to restore the old, familiar, Classic editor (which I can use with my eyes closed).

Slight hitch … we’d have to upgrade to “Business” to use it … for the “no way in HELL” PRICE OF $25 PER MONTH.

Thursday, September 3rd, 2020 is OFFICIALLY STARTING OFF VERY BADLY!!

My 9/3 Bits & Bytes is all written and formatted, because I do it in a text editor the day before, then polish and post after it’s had time to simmer. (Actually, after I’ve had some rest and can see my own typos!)

If the 9/3 edition EVER appears here, picture me sweaty and probably sitting in a corner somewhere sucking my thumb.

BLACK VOTES: Democrats are losing the Black vote at an increasing rate – A new Hill-HarrisX poll found that Trump enjoyed a NINE point bump in this demographic during the Republican National Convention.

2020_09 02 racist

BLACK SLUR: Tiffany Cross dismissed the Republican National Convention as a “modern-day minstrel show” for featuring so many black conservative speakers.

She said the inclusion of minority speakers was just the Republican’s cynical attempt to make its mostly white base feel less racist.

2020: Elder abuse –Covid has taken this year, just since the outbreak, has taken more than 100 year [sic], look, here’s, the lives, it’s just, it’s ju-, I mean, you think about it. More lives this year than any other year.

After giving a speech in Pittsburgh on violence, Joe Biden refused to take questions from reporters.

2020_09 02 Mostly peaceful by Branco

MOSTLY PEACEFUL”: Democrats, who have encouraged and lied about the violence all summer, are now hurting in the polls. So they’re switching up their messaging.

Now they admit the “mostly peaceful protests” kinda sorta are RIOTS, but it’s not THAT big of a wave, it’s all President Trump’s fault, and anyway, rioting and looting are powerful tools to bring about real, lasting change in society.

2020_09 02 murdered

SHOOTER IDENTIFIED: The man who murdered a Trump supporter has been identified as ANTIFA member, Michael Reinoehl.

His social media includes things like: “Every Revolution needs people that are willing and ready to fight.”  I am 100% ANTIFA all the way!”  It will be a war and like all war there will be casualties.”

His sister recognized him in the videos and called the police. She described him as “impulsive and irrational” and said he has been estranged from the rest of the family for three years.

COVID-19: Excessive nursing home deathsThe Department of Justice has launched a probe into the policy the DEMOCRAT governors of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Michigan implemented that led to thousands of elderly nursing home patients being unnecessarily infected with and dying from the coronavirus.

Gov. Mask Hypocrite Cuomo says the probe is just politics, but New York’s coronavirus death toll in nursing homes, already among the highest in the nation, could actually be a significant undercount. Unlike every other state with major outbreaks, New York only counts residents who died on nursing home property and not those who were transported to hospitals and died there.

2020_09 02 covid test

COVID-19: The New York Times just published a report showing that most of the tests for COVID-19 are so sensitive that they might be creating thousands upon thousands of false positives or flagging people with tiny quantities of virus who are not contagious.

While the New York Times uses this revelation as an impetus to bizarrely advocate for even more testing, the report itself is a refreshing apparently random act of journalism. It turns out that most people who test positive are barely carrying any viral load, certainly not enough to infect other people. Thus far, these tests have not conveyed to medical professionals the degree of viral load or contagiousness – just a positive or negative result.

2020_09 02 voter fraud

VOTER FRAUD: This is really disturbingA top Democratic operative says voter fraud, especially with mail-in ballots, is no myth. And he knows this because he’s been doing it, on a grand scale, for decades. …

The political insider, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he fears prosecution, said fraud is more the rule than the exception.

If people took the 10th commandment to heart, the Democrat Party’s platform would implode. (H/t Frankly the Nut)

CATHOLIC: This is absolutely maddening.

For starters, I DENY that “white privilege” is even a real thing.

And besides that, I’d bet my bottom dollar this priest has NEVER stood up and said a prayer like this about the grave moral evil of supporting abortion in any way, shape or form including VOTING DEMOCRAT.

RIOTS: Remember when a vote for Barack Obama was a vote for permanently ending racial division in America?

Hawk Newsome, chair of Black Lives Matter (BLM) of Greater New York, appeared on Fox News’ “The Story” with anchor Martha MacCallum.

She ended the interview after he refused to answer questions about the morality of looting.

RIOTS: Democrat cities are dying as business owners cancel plans to open new stores, shift workers away from downtown offices, and/or pull out of Democrat hell holes altogether.

They cite the weak response by Democrat political leaders to the rioting and looting that has been wreaking havoc on their cities since late May.

TRANS: The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit in Richmond, Virginia, ruled recently that “equal protection and Title IX can protect transgender students from school bathroom policies that prohibit them from affirming their gender.”

So females who want penis-free bathrooms must bow to biologically intact males who want to “affirm their internal sense of gender”, because the Constitution says so?!?

I guess the Left’s long-time support for a “constitutional right to privacy” only extends far enough to grant females leave to slaughter their unborn babies.

Forte is pronounced for-tay when it means (adv or adj) loud, as in a musical direction OR (noun) the strongest part of a sword or foil blade.

But it’s pronounced fort when it means (noun) a person’s strong point.

After the sung prayer to Our Lady, Macchio invited the Trump family and guests gathered on the south lawn of the White House to join in singing “God Bless America” and “America the Beautiful.”

Dr. Taylor Marshall, Catholic author and a member of Catholics for Trump advisory board, tweeted, “God will honor those who honor Him (and those who honor the Mother of God the Son).”

WASHINGTON: Kenosha riots – RiotKitchen206 tweeted, Riot Kitchen HQ just learned that our bus crew was arrested in broad daylight in #Kenosha today – kidnapped by feds in unmarked vans. We are currently trying to find our friends who were just there to feed people. Please share and donate for bail via Venmo riotkitchen206.”

According to the Kenosha News, the detainment occurred around 7:30 p.m., well after the city’s 7 p.m. curfew.

The Kenosha Police Department’s media release said that Kenosha police officers were responding to a citizen tip when they located and took up surveillance on three suspicious looking vehicles with out-of-state plates.

When they saw occupants filling multiple fuel cans with gasoline, the LEOs exited their vehicles. They were wearing appropriate identification and verbally identified themselves, before detaining the occupants of two of the vehicles.

When the third attempted to drive away, police stopped it, forced entry and found helmets, gas masks, protective vests, illegal fireworks, and suspected controlled substances. These individuals were also arrested.

Riot Kitchen responded, “Protective equipment we have on the bus is just that – for protection while being in large crowds with masks for COVID protection.”

Not sure how helmets, protective vests, illegal fireworks, gas masks, and controlled substances (which were found in the three vehicles) are supposed to protected people from COVID.

Everybody gets frustrated sometimes with their relatives!

I don’t know what guys do. Go to bars and bitch to strangers maybe.

Women go to their BFFs to blow off steam. The point of it is to get our feelings validated, so we can get our love back on and keep on keeping on.

Girlfriends are supposed to listen, pour the wine, and afterwards, keep their big, fat mouths SHUT forever and ever about whatever was said.

Alice Johnson

As Johnson addressed the Republican National Convention Thursday night, Politico tweeted, “Alice Johnson, a key player in Trump’s criminal justice reform push, delivered her RNC address tonight. She’s been propped up as one of the most prominent beneficiaries of the terms of the First Step Act. Kim Kardashian played a role in her prison release.”

Trump 2020 Advisory Board member Nan Hayworth responded, “@Politico’s bitter and desperate partisanship on full display today. Alice Johnson is no one’s prop. How dare you disrespect this amazing and powerful woman. You reveal yourselves in your derision. How petty, small, and pathetic you are.

Hayworth was far from alone. Others tweeted the “propped up” accusation was “disgustingly racist.

Tell us how you really feel about Black women, why don’t ya!

This headline removes agency from Alice in a way that is extremely uncomfortable and bizarre.

Johnson herself said, “To address Politico, to think that I can’t think for myself is a huge insult to me. … No one can prop me up to do anything I don’t want to do. The people who are saying this don’t even know President Trump. I don’t believe President Trump is a racist. My interactions with him and the things that he said and the things that I know touches his heart, those things would not come from a racist man. They are free to have their opinions, but in my personal opinion, I do not believe he’s a racist.”

I’ll spare all y’all what Joy Behar said.

Comfortably Smug tweeted, “Earlier tonight, Alice Johnson, who President Trump just pardoned was speaking to a room full of people on Clubhouse, an app you may have heard of.

While she was speaking, she described the events of Thursday night after leaving the White House, where a mob had descended She described being attacked, spit on, and having to take her heels off to defend herself from the out of control mob.

The mob descended on Alice and she was in tears and afraid as they attacked her the same way they attacked Rand Paul In the clubhouse room listening to Alice were Gayle King, MC Hammer, Van Jones and others What was their reaction? They told Alice to never repeat the story.

Don’t be surprised for more info to come out and more people to corroborate I’m told there were about 350 people in the clubhouse room.”

Ironic tweet reply by one of Comfortably Smug’s followers: “But, I’ve been reliably informed that silence is, in fact, violence.”

Some people on Comfortably Smug’s feed said there wasn’t any video of the mob assaulting Johnson, therefore it didn’t happen. Ooookay. Maybe. Or maybe this group was so much more incensed by Johnson or frightened by the mob that they didn’t immediately do the 21st century thing – i.e., record it on their phones. I mean, trees do fall in the woods.

We have seen video of the rage mobs attacking Rand Paul and Dan and Paula Bongino. And I personally can easily believe that Alice Johnson would be a particular target, given the power and content of her speech.

And it’s not like we haven’t all seen the Left’s viciousness and violence in full color this summer. Nor have we missed the blatant encouragement Democrat leaders have voiced, nor the blatant lies about the “mostly peaceful protesters” spewed by the Slime Stream Media.

They preach to us about civility and tolerance, then say crap like this:

You cannot be civil with a political party that wants to destroy what you stand for, what you care about.” – Hillary Clinton

Michelle always says, ‘When they go low, we go high.’ No. No. When they go low, we kick them.” – Eric Holder, former Attorney General for President Obama

We take an oath to protect and defend the Constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic. And, sadly, the domestic enemies to our voting system and our honoring our Constitution are right at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, with their allies in the Congress of the United States.” – Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA-12)

If you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them, and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere… The people are going to turn on them. They’re going to protest. They’re going to absolutely harass them until they decide that they’re going to tell the President, ‘No, I can’t hang with you.’” – Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA-43)

We have to level them because if there are survivors — if there are people who weather this storm, they will do it again — will take this as confirmation that, ‘Hey, it just pays to ride the wave — look at me, I’ve made it through.’” – Jennifer Rubin, Never Trumper, MSNBC

2020_08 29 mostly peaceful

JUDGMENT: This morning, before I got out of bed, I read a section in Heaven by Randy Alcott about how dangerously wrong this “everybody goes to heaven” thing is and how horrific are the consequences to those who believe it.

Then, I saw this from Babylon Bee. The end of it has this: “Seriously, only racists go to hell.

But we’re all white which means we’re all automatically racist.”

I want to offer up the most profound prayer of thanksgiving that GOD is writing history, not Democrats.

GOP CONVENTION: President Trump’s Acceptance Speech [1:10:22] – “Republicans spent the better part of three nights in their convention presenting softer and gentler sides of President Trump, but the president gets the final words and he came out Thursday in a fighting mood.” – NY Post

AFTER TRUMP’S SPEECH: Rand Paul is worth listening to [9:41] Dan Bongino and his wife also experienced this horror. The first segment of his Episode 1333 talks about his experience. He and Senator Paul both say these are paid, organized, rage mobs, not peaceful protests.

2020_08 29 Democrats riots

DEMOCRATS BE LIKE: As President Trump gave his acceptance speech for the Republican renomination for president Thursday night on the South Lawn of the White House, protesters gathered on the north side of the White House on Black Lives Matter Plaza put an effigy of Trump in a guillotine for a mock execution.

Agitators also chased out a cameraman from the area near the White House. They threatened to beat him up and destroy his camera.

DOMESTIC TERRORISM: The Democrat politicians who are allowing rage mobs are showing the whole world why we need the Second Amendment.

2020_08 29 biden up in smoke

MISPLACED VALUES: Democratic strategists are worried the ongoing property damage, violence, and “Defund Police” efforts could will give Trump an opening with swing voters.

IOW, they don’t care about the safety of law-abiding American citizens that Democrat politicians have deliberately failed to protect. They only care about winning elections and gaining/maintaining power.

2020_08 29 BLM hypocrite

RACISM: According to Democrats: Blacks vote Democrat, Blacks support Democratic candidates, Blacks believe the Constitution is racist, Blacks think police hate minorities, Blacks know Whites are born into privilege and Blacks never receive a fair shake in America, not in education, not in economic opportunities and certainly not in the court system. And here’s the stifling part — anyone who argues differently, sees differently, dares ponder differently is either Not Black or BISCO — that is, Black In Skin Color Only. That is, Uncle Tom.” – Cheryl K. Chumley

FOUR MORE YEARS: In March 2016, Professor Helmut Norpoth of Stony Brook University in New York confidently predicted that Donald Trump would be elected president.

He is now, just as confidently, giving Trump a 91% chance of winning the election with an unambiguous 362-176 Electoral College margin.

The article explains his methodology.

2020_08 29 usps

USPS: OvertimeAs Democrats demand a huge bailout for the postal service, a new internal audit has revealed one big piece of unnecessary fat contributing to the USPS’ inability to balance its own books.

Postal employees are allowed to determine their own overtime hours without needing prior management approval and management does not always keep accurate payroll records.

Little surprise, then, that overtime pay has become nothing short of a scandal.

More than 4,000 postal workers last year actually earned more in OT pay than their base pay! And this in a time when employee numbers have gone up while the amount of mail delivered has declined.

CHILD SEX TRAFFICKING: [2:11] – In Atlanta, a two-week-long effort by the Marshals Service, state and local law enforcement rescued 26 children and safely locate another 13. The children ranged in ages from 3 to 17. Marshals believe at least 15 had been victimized by sex traffickers.

Last month, a similar effort in Michigan located 123 of the 301 children that had been reported missing in the area. Three cases that were related to sex trafficking and one homeless teen who had not eaten anything in three days.

GOP Convention Highlights

After I posted day one highlights, I meant to continue with daily highlight posts. That plan got scuttled by some dental work that proved to be more draining than expected. While I recuperated, the convention ended and I am scrambling to catch up on the three days I missed.

President Trump [52:08] surprise, off-the-cuff speech. His planned acceptance speech isn’t posted at YouTube yet, so I’ll try to remember to put it into Bits & Bytes after they get a round tuit.

Joe Biden would be nothing more than a Trojan horse for a radical left.” VP Pence’s acceptance speech is embedded at the link. I can’t find it on YouTube.

Madison Cawthorn [4:14] made an inspiring speech that you shouldn’t miss … especially the end!

Lara Trump [7:45] talked about Trump’s support for women and about the promise of America. “In recent months, we’ve seen weak, spineless politicians cede control of our great American cities to violent mobs. … Joe Biden will not do what is needed to keep us safe.”

CLICK [4:43] to hear another lifelong Democrat who lives near rioting explain that she’s switching her vote to Republican, because Democrats didn’t even mention the violence, while Republicans condemned it repeatedly and called first responders and members of law enforcement and the military “heroes.

First lady Melania Trump [26:34] gave her 2020 RNC speech from the Rose Garden at the White House. She talked about how COVID-19 has impacted our nation, how the White House celebrated the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage, and shared her story of coming to America as an immigrant.

Our classy FLOTUS may not be a dynamic speaker, but she surely didn’t deserve what Ugly Bette Midler tweeted. If still had any DVDs in which she appeared, I’d throw them out.

Sister Dede Byrne [3:59] spoke on the third night of the Republican National Convention on Aug. 26, 2020. She retired as a colonel from the U.S. Army Medical Corps in 2009 and is the superior of the D.C. Little Workers of the Sacred Hearts.

Byrne spoke of her opposition to abortion, saying, “As a physician, I can say unequivocally life begins at conception” and noted Biden and Harris are “the most anti-life presidential ticket ever” because they “support the horrors of late-term abortion and infanticide.”

Anti-abortion activist Abby Johnson [4:50] detailed her journey from director of an abortion facility to pro-life activist.

Johnson used vivid language to condemn abortion, detailing an abortion that she witnessed. “Abortion is very real,” Johnson said. “I know what it sounds like; what it smells like.”

Mark Hemingway of RealClear Investigations noted: “The GOP before Trump would have been terrified to air such explicit anti-abortion rhetoric in prime time.”

Catholic student Nicholas Sandmann [4:43] called out the cancel culture and media hysteria – In 2019, Sandmann was targeted and victimized by Native American activist Nathan Phillips.

My life changed forever in that one moment. The full war machine of the mainstream media revved up into attack mode,” Sandmann said

His final act is especially significant, because the reason Phillips targeted him was that he was wearings a red MAGA hat.

The media narrative for days after was that the MAGA hat was “the new KKK hood.

Chen Guangcheng [2:38] is the blind human rights advocate who was targeted by the ChiComs for exposing their massive program of brutal forced abortions. After years of abuse, he escaped China and received asylum in the United States in 2012.

Left: Jason Joyce, an eighth-generation lobster fisherman from Maine, lamented an Obama–Biden administration move to order thousands of miles of ocean off-limits to commercial fishermen.

President Trump reversed that decision, reinstating the rules that allow stakeholder input, and he supports a process that seeks and respects fishermen’s views,” Joyce said.

Middle: Cris Peterson, owner of a 1,000-cow dairy farm in Wisconsin, said that business was horrible in 2016, with many generational farms across the nation going out of business.

More than any president, [Trump] has acknowledged the importance of farmers and agriculture. That support and focus on negotiating new trade deals gave us the confidence to rebuild our barn and dairy operation.”

Right: John Peterson, owner of a metal fabrication business, blamed the Obama–Biden administration for putting his business into a tailspin.

He praised the president for cutting regulations and putting an end to “draconian banking regulations” that made it difficult for his business to borrow money.

President Trump is a gracious man, giving credit where credit is due, even to a network that has treated him as shabbily as CNN has done.

The Biden campaign responded to night two of this week’s Republican National Convention, casting it as an evening of “empty rhetoric” and “empty gestures.

WASHINGTON: Seattle – On Monday, rioters attempted to seal cops inside the East Precinct building and set fire to the building. The officers inside were able to force their way out and disperse the rioters. One officer was injured and one suspect was arrested.

On Tuesday, police arrested Desmond David-Pitts, who reportedly confessed to his crime and was booked into King County Jail for first-degree arson. He was scheduled for a court appearance in King County Wednesday, before federal authorities stepped in to inform the county prosecutor’s office that they planned on pursuing first-degree arson charges at the federal level.

David-Pitts has been transferred into federal custody as a result. If for any reason federal authorities decide not to proceed with charges, the King County Prosecutor’s Office plans to move forward with charges of its own.

Pandemiquette

2020_08 27 Work from Home Playset

[I saw this on Facebook.]

Pandemiquette: Gracious behavior while navigating a pandemic.

1. Give grace as much as you give space. None of us have had to do this before, so just give people a break when they hurt your feelings, or come off as rude or fumble a bit.

2. Remember it’s not about you. Others’ decisions about what quarantine looks like may have nothing to do with you. So let them do what THEY need to do and understand that you don’t know all they are navigating.

3. When at a restaurant, perhaps politeness would be putting your mask on, even after seated, when talking to your masked server. Maybe… just masking up when someone you’re with is masked, is a good start. And then if they say, oh you don’t need to, you can decide.

4. Ask for what you want up front, with kindness, rather than complain about what you didn’t get afterwards. Prepare people you are going to be with, with what your expectations are regarding social distancing. Just let people know what you want in a way that is respectful and gracious. Just because you’re cautious or fearful doesn’t mean you get a pass to be rude and judgy. Remember it used to be not that long ago, that when folks got close to us, it was a sign of relationship, safety, warmth.

5. Don’t try to make sense of all the rules. We are all hypocrites in how we are dealing with this.

6. Smile BIG so your eyes crinkle. People can tell even behind the mask. And it matters right now to express warmth and kindness any way we can.

7. Look into those beautiful eyes looking at you. Kinda have to now right?

8. Keep your sense of humor. It’s all just so weird and laughing at ourselves in the awkwardness will help us all get through it.

So what are your pandemiquette tips?
