How far has the corruption of our nation progressed …
… that anyone would think we actually need a law to protect our First Amendment rights.
Sen. Mike Lee of Utah and 21 Republican co-sponsors have re-introduced The First Amendment Defense Act which went nowhere in 2015.
The legislation would
- “ensure” that the federal government could not take discriminatory action against anybody who “speaks, or acts, in accordance with a sincerely held religious belief or moral conviction that marriage is or should be recognized as a union of one man and one woman or two individuals as recognized under Federal law” and
- prohibit any action against those who believe that sexual relations outside marriage are improper.
When he was running for president in the 2016 race, President Donald Trump said he would sign the measure if it passes both the House and Senate.

So a coward AND a liar
Color me surprised. Not.
Broward Coward Deputy Scot Peterson has insisted publicly that he believed gunfire was happening outside, not inside the school building.
But internal radio dispatches released by the sheriff’s office Thursday show Peterson saying the gunfire was happening “inside” and that Peterson told his officers to stay “stay at least 500 feet away” from the building.

If this woman tried to silently and peacefully hold this sign near an abortion clinic in Ontario, she would be arrested.
Last month, Ontario enacted a law that made it an offense, punishable by punitive fines and prison, to
- “attempt to advise or persuade” someone to refrain from having an abortion, or
- to “attempt to inform a person concerning issues related to abortion services”, or
- to “attempt to perform an act of disapproval [of abortion]” in any way,
if the attempt is made within 50m (or up to 150m) of an abortion clinic. ‘Access zones’ can also be created around hospitals and pharmacies by regulation, up to 150m in every direction.
People charged under this law cannot defend themselves by proving that the facts shared about abortion or alternatives to abortion are true or that people were relieved to learn about a pregnancy care center.
