Since the 2016 election, Facebook, Google and Twitter have been punishing conservative websites and pundits by cutting their social media traffic, blocking their stories from going viral, demonetizing videos, and shutting down accounts. This month, Google banned a YouTube channel called Bombards Body Language, because they didn’t like her analysis of David Hogg’s anti-NRA speech.

A Short Flag Tutorial

It seems a member of the Seattle “Let’s Get Upset About Everything” community thought she saw a CONFEDERATE FLAG flying on her street. Never mind ASKING THE NEIGHBOR about the flag, right? No, she REPORTED it to the Seattle Times.

Journalists RACED to the scene, only to learn from the confused homeowner that it was the flag of Norway, which was flying during the Olympics, because her parents had immigrated emigrated from Norway and the Norwegians are totally killing it in Korea.

I thought I’d make a side-by-side of the Norwegian and Confederate flags to illustrate this story and learned that the flag (above) most of us think of as the “Confederate flag” was never the official flag of the Confederacy (pictured below).

The NRA and Civil Rights

Gun control laws were originally promulgated by Democrats to keep guns out of the hands of blacks.

  • The very FIRST GUN CONTROL LAW ever enacted here was passed in Virginia in 1640. It banned all blacks — including freemen — from owning guns.

After the Civil War, Democrat legislatures enacted “Black Codes” designed to deny newly freed black Americans the rights enjoyed by other American citizens.

  • This included the right to own guns.

The KKK was an outgrowth of the Democratic Party.

  • Not every Democrat was a klucker, but every member of the KKK was a Democrat.

Wherever the Klan has become a political force, gun control laws have suddenly appeared on the books.

GUN CONTROL and MLK

The National Rifle Association is America’s oldest and most august civil rights organization.

  • It opposed discriminatory gun permit laws and helped black Americans fight them.

A World War II Marine veteran, Williams returned home to Monroe, N.C., to find the Klan riding high — beating, lynching and murdering blacks at will. No one would join the NAACP for fear of Klan reprisals. Williams became president of the local chapter and increased membership from six to more than 200.

But it was not until he got a charter from the NRA in 1957 and founded the Black Armed Guard that the Klan got their comeuppance in Monroe.

Williams’ repeated thwarting of violent Klan attacks is described in his stirring book, “Negroes With Guns.” In one crucial battle, the Klan sieged the home of a black physician and his wife, but Williams and his Black Armed Guard stood sentry and repelled the larger, cowardly force. And that was the end of it.

As the Klan found out, it’s not so much fun when the rabbit’s got the gun.

The NRA’s proud history of fighting the Klan has been airbrushed out of the record by those who were complicit with the KKK, which is to say, the Democrats.

  • Today, it’s Democrats again who want to deprive Americans of their Second Amendment rights and it’s still the NRA standing up to defend our constitutional right to self-defense.

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley delivers remarks at a UN Security Council meeting.

A majority of Americans now support the GOP-Trump tax cuts. 51% approve, 46% disapprove.

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) launched the Conscience and Religious Freedom Division on January 18, 2018. So far, it has received complaints from more than 300 health workers. HHS officials said the new division was necessary to protect health workers whose rights weren’t enforced during the Obama administration. Violations can result in a service provider losing government funding.

CNN’s Chris Cuomo really lowers the liberal dunce bar on this one. He asked why people like Adam Lanza, the Sandy Hook shooter who murdered 28 people, are allowed access to firearms. Uhhhhhhh … apart from the fact that he wasn’t? Lanza murdered his mother and stole her guns.

An Ohio sheriff is offering free “concealed carry” classes to teachers in his district. 250 signed up in one day.

The Past Does Not Equal the Future

Good Evil

Sorry I’ve been so scarce. I guess I could blame a chaotic production schedule, but the truth is, I’ve been absent because I don’t know what to say in the wake of Florida.

Like most of you, I’m overwhelmed with pity for the victims and their families, but consumed with anger for the coward who chose to murder. Rage and sorrow are hard things to reconcile, and the more such things occur, the more apparent it becomes that there is nothing new to say. So forgive me Susan, if I repeat what I said after Vegas and San Bernardino.

Evil is real. As long as humans have walked the earth, people have chosen to do evil things. This is what happened in Florida. A nineteen-year old man chose to do an evil thing. He planned it. He executed it. He succeeded.

Should we endeavor to know why? Absolutely.

Should we discuss the impact of video games, accessible firearms, single-parents, no parents, powerful medications, social media, mental illness, bullying, or anything else we think might have encouraged him to choose evil over good? Without question.

But we should also stop confusing the influence of such things, with the root cause. Because nothing in this man’s past can possibly explain his decision to kill seventeen people. If you believe otherwise, ask yourself why millions of other people with a similar past, don’t make similar choices.

The past does not equal the future.

This is the most comforting thing I can tell you, Susan. It’s also the most disconcerting. Because the facts are undeniable. People from horrible backgrounds often become the epitome of kindness. And people with every imaginable advantage, often go on to squander everything.

The past does not equal the future.

To the families of the victims I can only offer my sincerest condolences, along with my heartfelt wish that the man who killed their loved ones is removed from the planet with all due speed.

As for words, I can only repeat what others have said, and ask you to remember those who confronted evil with courage. People like Aaron Feis, the football coach who threw himself in front of the kids the killer was trying to murder.

Beyond that, I’m afraid I can offer nothing but my weekly attempt to prove that goodness also walks among us, just as surely as evil. In numbers far greater than our newsfeeds would lead us to believe.

In related news, Stilton has a wonderful rant about the latest absurd and offensive Leftist meme.

To hear the media leftists tell it, the Russian campaign to buy Facebook ads was a worse attack on the United States than the one which occurred at Pearl Harbor. That’s not just our usual whimsical wordplay – that’s what their talking points are currently saying: a worse attack than Pearl Harbor.

This tells us three things about these (unprintable) morons: they don’t give a damn about history, they’ve never visited the Arizona Memorial (which is good, because it’s hallowed ground), and if they ever do visit the Memorial they’ll have to swim back to shore if they open their stupid yaps in front of actual Americans.

This kind of idiotic hyperbole can be dismissed with a shake of the head by rational adults of a certain age. But for younger viewers who have no actual concept of (or interest in) what Pearl Harbor represents, this kind of false equivalency can actually sway what passes for their minds.

So just how big and powerful was the Russian Facebook ad attack on America? And did those ads change the outcome of the election, as the left would have you believe?

According to an experienced campaign finance expert on Fox’s “Tucker Carlson Show,” the Russians spent $46,000 on Facebook ads. Meanwhile, the combined campaigns of Clinton and Trump (mostly Clinton) spent $81 million on Facebook ads (and that’s not including buys from other political interest groups).

Crunching the actual numbers, this means that of all the campaign ads on Facebook, over 99.9% weren’t originated by Russia. Making it pretty darn unlikely that Russia was able to tip the balance and impact the election – or even be heard over the clamor and clangor of the big money candidates.

Granted, the Russian disinformation campaign was more than a relatively microscopic number of Facebook ads. They also assaulted America with an infinitesimally small presence on Twitter and other social media sites frequented by people who enjoy a “less is more” philosophy when it comes to reading, thinking, and other challenging activities.

In closing, we just want the media to shut up about all of this, and especially want them to button their lips regarding any Pearl Harbor comparisons. Although we will concede that any day which saw the graduation of one of these buffoons from journalism school should be considered a date which will live in infamy.

Democrats don’t want immigration reform

They didn’t do diddly about fixing immigration during the 111th U.S. Congress, when they had majority control of both sides of Congress and the White House.

And now, they have blocked a Trump-supported Republican deal that would have offered a path forward on DACA.

Sen. James Lankford (R-OK): “Most of what was proposed by the President and Senate Republicans has passed the Senate multiple times over the past fifteen years, but not today. It’s disappointing that Democrats would not come to the table simply because President Trump supported it. Immigration reform is complicated and emotional, but it is essential that we keep working until we reach a good faith solution for the future of all Americans.”

Fox Business’ Trish Regan: “Maybe they don’t want Republicans to get the credit for giving these dreamers a path to citizenship!”

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY): “I thought my friends across the aisle would jump at this opportunity to fulfill what they say is their top priority. But they just could not take ‘yes’ for an answer.”

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR): “What this debate has shown is just how unserious the Democrats are about illegal immigration.”

Sen. David Perdue (R-GA): “Senate Democrats have shown their true colors. First, they shut down the government over DACA. Today, they had an opportunity to vote to provide certainty for 1.8 million DACA recipients and they voted no.”

Russia’s 2016 Effort

The Russian effort to disrupt our last presidential election cost them millions of dollars and succeeding only in wasting our time and money on the Mueller investigation, as Democrats tried — and failed — to find grounds for impeaching President Trump.

One thing the Russians did was advertise rallies for and against a particular issue at the same time and place, hoping the proximity of opposing groups would provoke violence.

The plan’s only semi-success was in Houston when two Russian fake groups, “The Heart of Texas” and “United Muslims of America”, had opposing rallies that attracted a total of 60 protesters who did get a tad testy with one another.  One side was even armed … with a bubble-making machine.

Another thing the Russians did was post ads on social media, but they were so bad at it, that only 44% of the total ads they paid for were displayed before the election and about 25% were never seen by anyone at all.

Plus, the ads were so stupid and over-the-top that the only voters who would have liked them were thinking that way anyhow.  E.g., one showed Hillary Clinton as the devil boxing with Jesus Christ, while another showed a buff and muscular Bernie Sanders.
