The salute seen round the world

Cpl. Josh Hargis, 24, was wounded in October when a suicide bomber in Afghanistan triggered more than a dozen explosive devices. When the Army ranger’s commanding officer came to his bedside to present him with a Purple Heart, everyone in the room reportedly thought he was unconscious. Then Hargis raised his bandaged hand for what his wife called “the most beautiful salute any person in that room had ever seen. That’s when “grown men began to weep.”

Captain Zero closes ocean, keeps fave links open

2013_10 06 Obama closes ocean

The National Park Service informed watermen that they are not permitted in Florida Bay until the feds get back to work. That means that more than 1,100 square miles of prime fishing is off limits, affecting tour operators and fishing and paddling guides. Enforcement rangers will be on duty.

Troops deployed to fight Obama’s War in Afghanistan won’t get to watch their games either. President Petty Pants isn’t allowing Armed Forces Network to broadcast American sports overseas.

At home, military cemeteries and memorials are barricaded AND the commissaries where military families buy groceries at a discount are shut down.

Guess what ONE non-essential military facility is NOT closed down … go ahead. I’ll give you ONE GUESS. … President Obama’s favorite 18 holes – the Andrew’s Air Force Base Golf Course – is OPEN.

They say it’s because the golf course is paid for by green’s fees. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. Just like how Mount Vernon and a bunch of other places they’ve shut down are funded. And how about the commissaries? You telling me the money the families spend there doesn’t PAY FOR THOSE PLACES?

BEST tweet: Boy, am I glad these guys are “no longer a threat” and “on the run.” I sure would hate to see what they’d do to us otherwise.

More on the Obama administration’s betrayal of our own people

August 12, 2013: A Scandal Bigger Than Benghazi? By Arnold Ahlert

The unanswered and troubling questions surrounding the deadly attack on SEAL Team 6.

In a story that has remained largely under the mainstream media radar, Congress announced late last month that it would finally investigate the Aug. 6, 2011 helicopter crash in Afghanistan that resulted in 38 deaths, including 22 members of SEAL Team 6, made famous three months earlier when they killed Osama Bin Laden. Grieving family members insist that soldiers in the elite unit were placed in unnecessary danger by the recklessness of the Obama administration, whose actions they characterized as criminal. …

“As soon as Joe Biden announced that it was a SEAL Team who took out Bin Laden, within 24 hours, my son called me and I rarely ever heard him sound afraid in his adult life…. He said, ‘Mom, you need to wipe your social media clean…your life is in danger, our lives are in danger, so clean it up right now.'”

Not George Bush

August 14, 2012: The Lying Liars in the Obama Administration

Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) told a town hall group that 2 days after the September 11, 2012, attack in Benghazi, Libya, then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton screamed at a member of Congress for suggesting it had been a terrorist attack. Now, of course, we know that the administration knew while it was happening that it was a terrorist attack and just made up all that crap about the YouTube video.

While the Obamedia obsessed about Trayvon … UPDATES

… Israel bombed Russian-made missiles within Syria, Russia has amassed over 160,000 troops, naval ships, fighter planes, and strategic bombers that Putin put on a state of “full combat readiness” today, and the federal debt bomb just keeps ticking away.

2013_07 22 Debt Clock

While we’re at it, let’s just think back, shall we? WHEN exactly was the last time you heard any mention of the fact that we STILL have troops fighting and dying in Afghanistan? Where’s all the brouhaha about Blood for Oil and Stupid Wars? Why isn’t Code Pink camped outside Obama’s place?

But let's talk about Trayvon

Obama sent form letters to bereaved military families

Words fail me. He uses them for campaign props and takes credit for their achievements. But he’s too damn lazy to even sign bereavement letters to their families with his own damn pen? This makes me want to vomit. Literally. I can taste the bile.

During his time in office, President Bush sent personal letters to the families of every one of the more than 4,000 troops who died in Iraq and Afghanistan. He met privately with more than 500 families of troops killed in action and spent personal time with more than 950 wounded veterans.

After the Fort Hood shooting, while the sitting Commander-in-Chief and his wife kicked back at Camp David, George and Laura went to Ford Hood and met privately with the wounded and bereaved. There were no reporters. No look at us moments. The only reason we know is because some of the folks they met with chose to share their photos on the internet.

Allen West vs. Bob Beckel

No matter how you slice it, West makes Beckel look like exactly what he is … a Big Fat Loser.

Bob Beckel has a Bachelor’s degree. While in college, he worked on Bobby Kennedy’s 1968 campaign until Kennedy was murdered.

In the 1977-1980 Carter administration, he was the youngest ever Deputy Assistant Secretary of State. Carter’s State Department is known for helping to bring down our ally, the Shah of Iran, and replace him with the virulently anti-American Ayatollahs.

In 1984, he served as campaign manager for Walter Mondale’s presidential campaign against first-term Reagan (who had trounced Carter). Mondale won 4 electoral votes.

In 2002, he managed Alan Blinken’s 2002 Senate campaign until a prostitute targeted him for extortion, when Blinken fired him.

Beckel is also a recovering alcohol and cocaine addict who now works as co-host and political commentator on CNN and Fox News and also as a graduate school professor of politics at the George Washington University where they apparently have very low standards in their professors. His students have more formal education than he does!

In 2007, Beckel was involved in an altercation in a parking lot over his anti-George W Bush bumper stickers.
