Liberal Logic on Climate Change

CLIMATE Liberals really are that stupid

August 2013: Environmental activists launched a well-funded new attack on Republican “climate change deniers” in hopes of making global warming a big issue in the 2014 campaign cycle.

September 17, 2013: Long-time Gore-ite Rep. Henry Waxman (D-Calif … natch) is head of Congress’ Safe Climate Caucus. They hosted a Democrats-only forum today to hear to “hear from individuals who have experienced first-hand the serious impacts of climate change.”

Among them was a Texas rancher who talked about the extreme drought in Texas, which apparently we’re supposed to all assume was caused by carbon emissions. But the Texas State Historical Association climate records say severe drought in Texas happens about once every ten years or so. And the worst one was back in 1884–86, long before mankind started using fossil fuels in large quantities.

September 27, 2013: The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change will release its fifth report on global warming. Earlier IPCC reports fueled climate alarmism and padded Al Gore’s bank account. Reporters who got an advance copy of the new report say it admits the computer models they used in the past sucked and oops sorry about the alarmism thing.

  • Al Gore owns a $9 million mansion in Montecito, a luxury apt at the St Regis in SF, and a 10k sqft house in TN.
  • His home has 20 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms, which can only be powered by 18,400 kWh. (12 times the average in US)
  • He had a $30,000 home electric bill last year.
  • Al Gore’s carbon footprint is a 24 EEE.
  • He is the most obscene hypocrite in the history of politics.

What does she mean by “sensible”?

Keep in mind that these are the same people who found the “right” to murder unborn Americans tucked somewhere between the lines of the Constitution and insist with spittle flying that Pro-Lifers are EEEEEEEEEEEVIL, because this alleged “right” is “in the Constitution!”

Keep in mind that these are the same people who think Al Gore should’ve been President, even though the Supreme Court said Bush won, and who have no problem with Gore getting filthy rich pushing his version of “science” that says fossil fuels are EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVIL, then selling his t.v. station for a potload of the same oil- and blood-soaked dollars that supposedly made Bush the devil incarnate.

Bette’s blog posting at Twitchy is dated December 23d, at which time @NRA had 80,965 Twitter followers, not 60,000. In the last 24 hours, nearly 2,000 more people have signed on as followers. The NRA also currently has 4 million members and its Facebook page has 1,757,565 likes.

This afternoon @BetteMidler, the anti-NRA, pro-gun-control and Republicans-suck tweets are in full flower, but her stupid remark about 60,000 NRA followers has been deleted. Too bad for her that Twitchy is forever. ::snork::

And Rasmussen demonstrates that the 18:1 Democrat’s anti-gun media bias fails even worse (2.7 in 10) than their anti-carbon bias. December 19, 2012 Rasmussen opinion poll about what would do the MOST to prevent shooting sprees like Newtown’s:

Another blow to Al Gore’s Bull

I just watched a Nova documentary called Arctic Dinosaurs that included some scientific findings that cracked me up.

One of the scientists featured in the film is Robert Spicer, a British paleobotanist. (He studies fossilized plants.) He explained that, in hot tropical climates, the edges of leaves are smooth, while in colder climates, they tend to have serrated edges. In hot climates, moisture evaporates from leaves, causing water to rise up through the roots. In cold weather, evaporation ceases. To avoid starvation, plants in colder climates have little glands on the edges of the leaves that pump water out and keep critical circulation going. These glands make the leaf edges jagged.

Spicer got the bright idea that he might be able to use his plant fossils to figure out what the climate was like when dinosaurs roamed. First, he collected a ton of modern leaf and climate data from more than 170 locations around the world. From these, he was able to create a statistical model that accurately predicts, to within a degree or two Celsius, what the average annual temperature of a given place is (or was) by the proportion of toothed leaves and non-toothed leaves in the environment.

Neat, huh? By examining his extensive collection of ancient arctic leaf fossils, Spicer demonstrated that, when dinosaurs were living on the North Slope of Alaska, the average annual temperature there was about 30 degrees warmer than it is today. So I’m thinking, “Continental drift, people!” but the joke was on me. According to geologists, at the end of the age of dinosaurs, the North Slope of Alaska was not further south. It was further north!

Yet it was 30 degrees warmer and enjoyed a great diversity of plant, insect and animal species.

Think about it. The Gore-Bull Warmists shriek about the Catastrophic Consequences of even a small rise in average global temperature, right? But back when Alaska was 30 degrees warmer, it was much MORE hospitable to life than it is now.
