Speaking of corruption

Chicago-style politics isn’t a myth; it’s alive and well in Illinois’ 2d district.
Check out the LAST THREE people the Democrat Machine in Southeast Chicago has sent to Congress:

1981-2012 IL-2 The corruption continues

1981 – 1993: DEMOCRAT Representative Gus Savage (IL-2)

Resigned after the House Ethics Committee determined he had tried to force himself on a female Peace Corps worker in Zaire. Apparently, it was enough that he said he was sorry and stepped down, since no further action was taken.

1993 – 1995: DEMOCRAT Representative Mel Reynolds (IL-2)

Resigned from Congress after being convicted of raping a 16-year-old campaign volunteer. Was later convicted on 15 financial crimes. Served 8 years in prison, had the remainder of his sentence commuted by President Clinton, then jumped right back into Chicago politics.

  • August 1994: Reynolds was indicted for sexual assault and criminal sexual abuse, yet continued his campaign and was re-elected in November.
  • August 1995: Reynolds was sentenced to 5 years on 12 counts of sexual assault, obstruction of justice and solicitation of child pornography. He resigned from Congress.
  • April 1997: A year before he was due to be released for his sexual crimes, Reynolds was sentenced to 6½ addition years on 15 unrelated counts of bank fraud and lying to SEC investigators.
  • January 2001: Clinton pardoned Reynolds, who was then hired by Jesse Jackson’s Rainbow/Push Coalition to … get this … work to decrease the number of young blacks going to prison.
  • November 2004: Reynolds ran for Congress again, but was overwhelmingly defeated in the Democratic primary by incumbent Jesse Jackson Jr.

1995 – 2012: DEMOCRAT Representative Jesse Jackson, Jr. (IL-2)

Resigned one month after the feds launched two criminal investigations against him, citing as his reason certain health problems he apparently had never noticed before, including “bipolar disorder, clinical depression, and gastrointestinal problems.”

November 2012: As soon as JJJ resigned, Reynolds announed his candidacy to replace him. The special election will be February 26, 2013.

Wanna take any action on the likelihood this CONVICTED FELON will be re-elected by the moronic, dead and multiple voters of southeast Chicago?

Me neither.

ALL the shooters were LIBERALS – Updated!

Unhappy with the committee assignments given to him by fellow Democrat and Speaker-elect Marilyn Kirkpatrick, Assemblyman Brooks publicly threatened to shoot Kirkpatrick, telling people Kirkpatrick’s “first day as speaker would be her last.”

He was arrested Saturday, in possession of a loaded gun, and is now out on bail. His first court date is Jan. 28, one week before the legislative session begins. If convicted, the charge could get the lawmaker one to five years in state prison and a $10,000 fine.

Gun Control = More Crime

2013_01 19 Guns across America

Links to each state’s protest site details are available @

https://www.facebook.com/events/144639815690301/

As Obama Democrats and the United Nations conspire to disarm Americans, law-abiding Americans have organized to push back.

Half a dozen state legislatures have bills in the works declaring unconstitutional rules, regulations, and executive orders will not be allowed.

Wyoming’s bill says that any official charged with infringing on the gun rights of Wyoming citizens shall, upon conviction, be subject to a $5,000 fine and imprisonment for not less than one year and one day or more than five years.

Sources close to the Tenth Amendment Center indicate as many as a dozen more states could follow suit in the coming weeks.

There are about 17 states that already have some type of freedom act for firearms. Some, like Alaska, are looking to upgrade their existing laws in the face of Obama’s gun grab.

Although the federal government imposes regulations and licensing requirements under the Commerce Clause, which regulates commerce among the states, these states challenge that weapons that don’t cross state lines are exempt.

Montana’s Firearms Freedom Act was launched in 2009 and is currently under review at the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

Montana also has raised the issue that gun-making certainly was going on at the time Montana became a state under a compact in 1889, the federal government was not given permission then to restrict that activity and cannot arbitrarily decide to do so now.

Meanwhile, the pro-gun-control Journal News (Westchester, Rockland and Putnam counties of New York) published an interactive map targeting the homes of all legal gun owners in the area. The Journal News then hired armed guards to protect its staff, which was not hypocritical of them AT ALL. /sarc

Here are some of the Letters to the Editor this pro-gun-control map inspired:

  • Like Bloomberg and all the others, you say ‘get rid of the guns,’ while you have bodyguards and armed security.
  • You hire someone with Second Amendment rights to protect your First Amendment rights. Pathetic.
  • Legal owners are not the problem! May this stand destroy what the Internet has not yet destroyed of your newspaper.
  • Will you be publishing a list of everyone in Rockland and Westchester who has a legitimate prescription for pain meds, because pain medicine kills far more people every year than guns. Make sure to highlight prescription holders who are old and frail, so junkies will know who they can most easily rob.
  • I hope you get sued by everyone whose house is robbed.
  • There is no longer one reporter in this entire country who I trust to tell the truth anymore.
  • I hope you are sued and go out of business. I tell everyone about what you did.
  • How about publishing names and addresses of all the executives of the newspaper. Not so brave about doing that, are you?
  • As I’m sure your research shows, the presence of legal firearms serves as a deterrent to criminals. By identifying gun owners, you have identified those whose homes are NOT protected. Why not print a map of rich people to go with it?
  • Instead of printing private info about law obeying citizens, why don you expose those who carry illegally?
  • Guns don’t kill people. People kill people.
  • Criminals can use your map to steal legal guns with which they can then assault the homes of those who are unprotected. Way to go.
  • If someone uses your First Amendment protected map to steal my Second Amendment protected gun and then illegally harms someone with it, who will be responsible? You and your map? Me and my gun? Or the criminal who actually aimed and fired?
  • What you have done is yell fire in a theater.
  • I hope you are held responsible for ANY robberies that occur at the addresses that you published.

A few thoughts on Gun Control

Special kind of stupid

Tweeted @WilliamTeach:

Weird how Dems weren’t calling for gun control when Islamist went on a rampage at Ft. Hood

Liberal Second Amendment

The following is excerpted from http://www.nationalreview.com/corner/335987/gun-owners-segregationists-and-jim-sleeper-charles-c-w-cooke by Charles C.W. Cooke:

Anybody who bothers to look up 1857′s Dred Scott v. Sandford decision will notice right away the court’s awful observation that if slaves were permitted to enjoy full citizenship rights, then they would — shock horror! — enjoy the right

“to keep and carry arms wherever they went.”

This, the court thought, would be disastrous.

Gun control is racist

The fear of blacks with guns is not, of course, new. The very first gun-control measures in American history were designed to keep arms out of the hands of blacks and Indians:

The Massachusetts and Plymouth colonies both prohibited the sale of guns to Indians in the early seventeenth century, and the “Black Codes” of the mid-eighteenth century required French colonists in Louisiana to disarm and beat “any black carrying any potential weapon.”

Many pre-Civil War state constitutions went further, reserving the right to bear arms … to “freemen,” which, naturally, meant whites. After their damnable cause was lost, the KKK picked up and ran with disarmament as a way of keeping blacks down.

As Adam Winkler has observed, “gun control” was “at the very top of its agenda.” The Democratic party’s “Black Codes,” which barred former slaves from owning guns in the (segregated) post-bellum South, were passed for the same purpose.

It is no accident that the first draft of the 1871 Anti-Klan Act contained a provision that made it a federal crime to

“deprive any citizen of the United States of any arms or weapons he may have in his house or possession for the defense of his person, family, or property,”

for that was exactly what segregationists set out to do.

Robert Franklin Williams’s classic work, Negroes with Guns, tells a tale of the KKK’s systematic attempt to disarm black Americans — and of the National Rifle Association’s work in forming a counter-group called the “Black Armed Guard” — as late as the as the 1950s.

As Williams points out, it was guns in the hands of his family that saved their lives and allowed them — literally — to fight the KKK and their allies.

The most violent country in Europe: Britain is also worse than South Africa and U.S.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1196941/The-violent-country-Europe-Britain-worse-South-Africa-U-S.html

EXCERPT: The violent crime rate in Great Britain is the highest in Europe. It is four times higher than ours. Some say it’s not fair to compare, because the way crimes are recorded varies from country to country. But it’s tough to overlook the fact that the number two most violent country (Austria) recorded 18% fewer violent crimes per capita than Great Britain. And you only have to go down to fifth place to get a full 50% drop from the UK’s high. Meanwhile, the USA doesn’t even make it into the top ten. Who woulda thunk?

UK tops in violent crimes

Chivalry: The Opposite of Good Manners? By Mona Charen

http://www.nationalreview.com/articles/335605/chivalry-opposite-good-manners-mona-charen#

EXCERPT: When feminists set out to remake the sexes back in the 1970s, they seemed to choose all the wrong traits to emulate or eliminate. Women were encouraged to match the promiscuity, aggressiveness, and irresponsibility of men. … wasn’t it preferable to label boorish behavior as such, rather than celebrate it as a victory for sexual equality? … an anecdote that sums up the case for chivalry. Samuel Proctor, pastor of Harlem’s Abyssinian Baptist Church in the 1970s and 1980s, tipped his hat to a lady. She was offended and demanded, “What is that supposed to mean?” He replied: “Madame, by tipping my hat I was telling you several things. That I would not harm you in any way. That if someone came into this elevator and threatened you, I would defend you. That if you fell ill, I would tend to you and if necessary carry you to safety. I was telling you that even though I am a man and physically stronger than you, I will treat you with both respect and solicitude. But frankly, Madame, it would have taken too much time to tell you all of that; so, instead, I just tipped my hat.”

What political party said this? by Quiner’s Diner

http://quinersdiner.com/2012/12/13/what-political-party-said-this/

EXCERPT: Guess which political party made these demands … “We ask that the government undertake the obligation above all of providing citizens with adequate opportunity for employment and earning a living. The activities of the individual must not be allowed to clash with the interests of the community, but must take place within its confines and be for the good of all. Therefore, we demand: … an end to the power of the financial interests.

FACT: Gun control laws increase gun violence

Gun control and drunk driving

“This man’s actions were illegal: trespassing, attempted rape, peeping, drug use and breaking and entering. There are laws against all of those actions and yet, imagine that, it didn’t stop him. The only thing that finally stopped this man was an armed citizen exercising their legal right to own a firearm.”

Aurora: My thoughts on this tragedy and calls for gun control By the Blonde Momshell – July 24, 2012

If this doesn’t convince you to leave the 2d Amendment alone, rent Larry Elder’s documentary, “Michael & Me”, which turned my position on gun control 180 degrees in the space of 90 minutes.

“In this provocative documentary, libertarian talk-radio personality and author Larry Elder takes controversial film director Michael Moore to task and deconstructs his anti-gun film Bowling for Columbine. Elder’s debut effort borrows freely from the opinionated Moore — including an animated segment in which Elder interviews a visibly uptight Moore — to defend the Second Amendment and the rights of Americans to own and use firearms.”
