Iowa is the state right next to mine. It is about 60 miles west of where I live. I’ve had occasion to visit it numerous times. I realized it was a pretty large tract of land. I never imagined it would be big enough to hold the massive egos of Killary and The Donald at the same time! They both visited the state fair on Saturday.

The Butcher of Benghazi spent 1 1/2 hours pretending to be a champion of “the little people” before she jetted off to Martha’s Vineyard to join Bent Penis and the current House Negroes. She eschewed the press shouting questions, preferring to spout her lies then walk away.

‘And that’s what I talk about on the campaign trail,’ she said.

Occasional golf partners, Obama and Clinton had crossed paths the day before as both played separately on another golf course on the Vineyard. Rounding out their foursome on the waterside course Saturday were former Ambassador Ron Kirk and civil rights figure Vernon Jordan. Both Clintons were on the guest list for Jordan’s 80th birthday party on Saturday night, along with the president, first lady Michelle Obama and daughters Sasha and Malia

Donald Trump breaks the rules at the Iowa State Fair
There are a few golden rules when it comes to campaigning in Iowa: never arrive by helicopter, leave your entourage at home and don’t skip the Des Moines Register soapbox, even if you have to brave hecklers.

But the normal rules of politics don’t apply to Donald Trump, who broke all of them during his visit to the Iowa State Fair on Saturday.

Trump made a grand entrance by touching down in a $7 million helicopter. He was thronged by supporters as he walked the fairgrounds and eschewed the soapbox — where Iowans are encouraged to shout questions to candidates — in favor of often random interactions with voters.

The day provided the latest illustration of how Trump, the GOP presidential frontrunner, is upending the race by ignoring conventional wisdom and running his campaign exactly how he wants to. The strategy stood in sharp contrast to Hillary Clinton, who lost the caucuses here in 2008 after she also broke some of this state’s cherished rules.

She took fewer risks on Saturday….

Bloomberg Politics’ Mark Halperin and ABC’s Martha Raddatz were invited along for the ride. When asked if the helicopter fanfare was a bit too much, Trump said, “It’s me, I am who I am.”
