Obama as Lightbringer

2013_06 WH photo deifies Obama

Their blasphemy started a long time ago.

EXCERPT FROM “Spiritual wise ones say Obama is an enlightened being, a Lightbringer” – June 6, 2008

http://www.sfgate.com/entertainment/morford/article/Is-Obama-an-enlightened-being-Spiritual-wise-2544395.php

Many spiritually advanced people I know (not coweringly religious, mind you, but deeply spiritual) identify Obama as a Lightworker, that rare kind of attuned being who has the ability to lead us not merely to new foreign policies or health care plans or whatnot, but who can actually help usher in a new way of being on the planet, of relating and connecting and engaging with this bizarre earthly experiment. These kinds of people actually help us evolve. They are philosophers and peacemakers of a very high order, and they speak not just to reason or emotion, but to the soul.

[CtH: Did you catch the snarky “coweringly religious” reference to the real Christians who bow their heads and bend their knees? PRIDE is the name of their game, just like it is the name of Satan’s game.]

  • Tweets:
  • Is the “H” for ‘Hussein’ or ‘Hellspawn’?
  • Can’t wait for the stained glass version.
  • Q: What’s the difference between Obama and God?
    • A: God doesn’t think he is Obama.

EXCERPTS from “What are your religious beliefs?” interview with then-State Senator Barack Obama in March 27, 2004

Full transcript @ http://www.wanttoknow.info/008/obama_religious_beliefs_views

GG: What do you believe?

OBAMA: I am a Christian. So, I have a deep faith. I draw from the Christian faith. On the other hand, I was born in Hawaii where obviously there are a lot of Eastern influences. I lived in Indonesia, the largest Muslim country in the world, between the ages of six and 10. My father was from Kenya, and although he was probably most accurately labeled an agnostic, his father was Muslim. And I’d say, probably, intellectually I’ve drawn as much from Judaism as any other faith. So, I’m rooted in the Christian tradition. I believe that there are many paths to the same place. I was raised mostly by my mother. She was a Christian. We’d go to church for Easter. And I’d say, probably, intellectually I’ve drawn as much from Judaism as any other faith.

[CtH: Riiiiiiiiight. He’s a Christian who draws from Christian faith with a lot of Eastern influences like Muslim and agnostic and his mother dragged him to church once a year sometimes, so that made her a Christian too. Plus he’s like so Jewish. And he doesn’t believe Hindus go to Hell, plus Gandhi was one of his heroes. Did he miss any bases in the Liberal Litany of Meaningless Spiritual Tolerance? Bowing to Gaia maybe?]

GG: Do you consider yourself born again?

OBAMA: Yeah, although I’m suspicious of dogma and a big believer in tolerance.

[CtH: IOW, no he’s not born again.]

GG: Do you pray often?

OBAMA: Uh, yeah, I guess I do. It’s not formal, me getting on my knees. I have an ongoing conversation with God. Throughout the day I’m constantly asking myself questions about what I’m doing, why am I doing it.

[CtH: His “ongoing conversation with God” consists of him asking himself what he’s doing and why he’s doing it. Who is “god” in this scenario?!]

GG: Who’s Jesus to you?

(He laughs nervously)

OBAMA: Right. Jesus is an historical figure for me. And he’s also a wonderful teacher. I think it’s important for all of us, of whatever faith, to have teachers in the flesh and also teachers in history.

[CtH: Laughs nervously. Ahem. Real Christians get choked up when asked about Our Lord and Savior. Nervous laughter means what I said before … he’s no kind of real Christian. The essence of Christianity is believing that Jesus is the Son of God who died for our sins and rose on the third day.]

GG: Is Jesus someone who you feel you have a regular connection with now, a personal connection with in your life?

OBAMA: Yes. I think some of the things I talked about earlier are channeled through my Christian faith and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

[CtH: How can anyone have a “personal relationship” with “an historical figure”?]

GG: Do you read the Bible, take time for meditation, prayer, spiritual reading?

OBAMA: I don’t have much time for reading or reflection.

GG: Do you believe in heaven?

OBAMA: Do I believe in the harps and clouds and wings?

GG: A place spiritually you go to after you die?

OBAMA: What I believe in is that if I live my life as well as I can, I will be rewarded. I don’t presume to have knowledge of what happens after I die. But I feel very strongly that whether the reward is in the here and now or in the hereafter, aligning myself to my faith and my values is a good thing.

When I tuck in my daughters at night and I feel like I’ve been a good father to them, and I see in them that I am transferring values that I got from my mother, and that they’re kind people and that they’re honest people and they’re curious people, that’s a little piece of heaven.

[CtH: Nice touch about tucking in his daughters. Too bad he wasn’t actually living with them at the time … or before they were born … or after they were born. For eleven years, he lived on his own and the girls lived with their mom. They only started play-acting happy family when they moved to the White House.]

GG: Do you believe in sin?

OBAMA: Yes.

GG: What is sin?

OBAMA: Being out of alignment with my values.

GG: What happens if you have sin in your life?

OBAMA: I think it’s the same thing as the question about heaven. If I’m true to myself and my faith, that is its own reward. When I’m not true to it, that’s its own punishment.

[CtH: This crap passes muster with Leftists, including the Christians-In-Name-Only who use their churches as social welfare agencies and community organizing clubs, not as hospitals for the spiritually weak and sinful. Any real Christian will see clearly that Obama believes in Obama and not much else. Little wonder he is so comfortable with his followers deifying him and with his own constant lying, slandering, race-baiting and cutting of spending where it will hurt Republicans, because of “sequester” … all the while increasing his own salary, throwing splashy parties for his supporters, and taking extravagant trips and vacations at taxpayers’ expense. He makes up his morality as he goes. What “aligns” with his values at any given moment – i.e., what gets him what he wants right now – is morally justified, because he is his own god and there is no other before him.]

If you support Obama, you are not a Christian

Rep. John Fleming (R-LA) passed an amendment in the House Armed Services Committee protecting religious speech of service members in the military.

President Barack Obama says if it passes the full House and Senate, he will veto it.

In other words, Obama WANTS his appointees and officers free to dictate to chaplains what prayers, religious teachings and spiritual counseling they are permitted to offer and free to forbid soldiers from mentioning Jesus during a prayer or having a Bible on their desks.

No higher power

For four years Barack Obama has waged an unparalleled and largely undocumented by the mainstream media attack on the religious liberties of Christians in the United States. From cutting funding for religious schools to assaulting the Catholic Church, Obama has made his agenda clear.

Consider just one rich comparison. He left the words “endowed by their Creator” out of his speech when quoting the Declaration of Independence,  then ended a speech condemning all efforts to limit abortion in any way (by 42 states no less!) with “God bless you, Planned Parenthood.”

I’ve never come right out and said this before, but I think this latest public statement to veto any attempt to protect the religious freedom of military members makes it just over-the-top clear to me. If you support Obama, you are not a Christian.

You can call yourself whatever you want. It doesn’t mean God will recognize you at judgment. “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven.” Matthew 7:21

Amendments are hard

2013_02 10 Pelosi says gun right is first amendment

This is not satire. She actually said this on Fox News yesterday.

My pick of comments at Twitchy:

  • Remember “Is it the 11th Amendment…or the 14th…I’m not sure, whatever I’m with the Constitution.”
  • “I believe in natural gas as a clean, cheap alternative to fossil fuels.” Nancy Pelosi, August 24, 2008, NBC Meet the Press
  • C’mon guys, you know she’s, like, totally down with the right to keep and bear free speech!
  • The right of “assault magazines” (and those shoulder things that go up) to peaceably assemble shall not be infringed!
  • Well, the First Amendment does protect the right to shoot…your mouth off!
  • O…M…G! I’m beginning to wonder if maybe Guam WILL tip over!!

DOG Not saying you're stupid

  • Maybe she thought the right to bare arms was some kind of fashion statement included in free speech.
  • When asked how she could make such a silly mistake, she plead the Sixth.
  • One can only hope she leaves her brain to science. Even those guys need a good laugh once in a while.
  • To be fair, it has been a very long time since she attended the ratification as a young girl.
  • That’s the one Joe Biden live-tweeted as he watched it on TV?
  • Biden, Reid and Nance have the combined IQ of Herr Olbermann’s cat.

CAT really dumb

  • Nanzi Pelosi is a 13-watt CFL in a 100-watt incandescent world. Even when she’s warmed up, she’s nowhere near bright enough.
  • Great analogy – like a CFL, Ms Pelosi is both dim and toxic.
  • Next thing you know, Rachel Maddow will be claiming that there is no such thing as The Preamble to The Constitution… Oh wait …

The Decline and Fall of the First Amendment

Political Correctness Police

In 2008, the Toledo Free Press compared homosexual activists to African-American activists.

Crystal Dixon, an African-American and practicing Christian, objected to this comparison and submitted her own opinion:

““I respectfully submit a different perspective for [the author of the original op-ed] and Toledo Free Press readers to consider . … I take great umbrage at the notion that those choosing the homosexual lifestyle are civil rights victims. As a Black woman … I cannot wake up tomorrow and not be a Black woman. I am genetically and biologically a Black woman and very pleased to be so as my Creator intended.”

She signed only her name and made no mention of her position on the staff of the University of Toledo.

Shortly after her piece appeared, Dixon was fired. The letter notifying her said the reason was “the public position you have taken in the Toledo Free Press” which was contrary to the university’s official political position regarding “diversity.”

She sued. And lost, despite evidence presented that other employees had publicly expressed personal opinions and viewpoints about various political and social issues in the local newspapers without any adverse consequences.

For example, in 2007, the vice provost of the University, Carol Bresnahan, was identified by her official univesity position and quoted in the Toledo Blade saying, “[B]igotry is to blame for those who oppose the [domestic-partner registry] law. It’s their religious beliefs, and bigotry in the name of religion is still bigotry.”

Despite the alleged emphasis at the University of Toledo on “tolerance, equality, and diversity”, Bresnahan was never even reprimanded for her bigoted, anti-religious comment, much less fired.

Lloyd Jacobs, head of the university, said there was no inconsistency in his actions in these two cases, because what Bresnahan had said wasn’t “contrary to the university’s value system”, whereas what Dixon had said was.

Her lawyer notes,

“This case only reinforces the fact that the liberal idea of ‘diversity’ is code for the tyranny of political correctness” and that “Anti-Christian bias and bigotry is a hallmark of the ‘diversity’ crusade that is promoted in our universities and other public institutions.”

Dixon’s attorneys are appealing on the basis that the university is demanding it be the final arbiter of what shall and shall not be permitted in matters of personal opinion and free, personal expression.

In other campaign eatery news …

Earlier this week, a small bakery owner was approached by Joe Biden’s advance team to arrange a campaign visit by the Vice President.

He said thanks, but no thanks. He disagrees with Obama’s policies and said he was particularly offended by Obama saying he had not built his own business.

Shortly afterwards, the Secret Service slipped in and thanked him for saying no (and bought sacks full of baked goodies).

The next day, Crumb and Get It had to shut down at 1:15 p.m. because they ran out of food.

Traditional Christian values AND today’s news

In 2008, Macomb County, Mich., ordered John Satawa to remove a seasonal Nativity display that his family had maintained since 1945.
From 1945 until 2008, nobody minded. What a shocker … the government tried to stop it only after a protest was received from the Freedom From Religion Foundation.
A federal judge upheld the county’s decision to ban the display, but 6th Circuit appellate judges just reversed that decision, saying it violated both free-speech and equal protection.

Barack Obama has done more to advance the cause of alternative sexual lifestyles in the United States than any other president.
His Department of Justice has decided not to defend the Defense of Marriage Act, which currently is the law of the land.
Obama has declared special days and events to recognize alternative sexual lifestyles.
He’s appointed probably more individuals choosing those lifestyles to public office than any other president.
He’s allowed homosexuals to serve openly in the U.S. military.
But at today’s daily news briefing at the White House, Obama PR spokesman Carney refused to answer repeated questions from multiple reporters about where Obama stands on polygamy.
The questions were sparked by a long article in Time magazine about polygamy, titled “I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do” and featuring the story of Alina, Valeria and Vicki, the “three wives of Joe Darger” in Utah. The article portrays polygamy as having a “rising cultural profile” and says that “once-secretive plural families” are beginning to fight for recognition, much as homosexuals have done over the past decades.

Mike Huckabee wrote on Facebook. “Let’s affirm a business that operates on Christian principles and whose executives are willing to take a stand for the godly values we espouse by simply showing up and eating at Chick fil-A on Wednesday, August 1.”
Some 600,000 people signed up to celebrate Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day and reports are the restaurants were packed.
In Staurt, Florida, the parking lot was overflowing and cars were wrapped around the building waiting to reach the drive-up window. There were extra attendants outside on foot taking people’s orders before they even got near the window.
In Des Moines, Iowa, there were 300 customers in line at noon. One family said they drove nearly 2 hours to come for lunch.
In Mesa, Arizona, the lines reportedly were so long, it was taking 30 minutes to get a meal. Another Arizona franchise needed police help with traffic control.
In Oklahoma, people patiently stood in line for an hour despite 100 plus degree temperatures.
Chick-fil-A itself did not affiliate itself with the buycott and is refusing to release customer and sales figures for Aug 1.

Some good news for our side

I just finished scoping out four opinion polls about the HHS mandate that date from February, March, May and June of this year. For those who want it, the data and URLs are provided below. But first, here are my thoughts.

A May poll of Adult Americans showed a very high degree of passion and support for freedom of religion above all else. It’s very rare to get a ZERO in the Meh crowd. [Meh = Don’t Know, No Opinion, It Depends.] But that’s what this poll found when they asked,

“Should freedom of religion be protected, even if it conflicts with other laws?”

26% No vs. 74% Yes vs. 0% Meh.

Clearly, as a nation, we really care about religious freedom. I have seen this 1:3 split in other polls on hot issues, including in another question from that same May poll.

“Is it morally wrong to force health care workers and doctors to provide abortion when they object for religious reasons?”

27% No vs. 72% Yes vs. 1% Meh.

I believe the 1:3 reflects the Hard-Left vs. Center-Right divide in America today. The Democrat Media Complex blats about how they are the majority and we are the extremist fringey tinfoil hatters. But the real truth is the opposite.

This is something to keep in mind when talking to those critical Undecided voters. The Hard-Leftists are already committed to the Democrats, so the likelihood that an Undecided is fundamentally Center-Right on most issues is very, very high. Find their hot buttons and focus on how Obama Democrats have violated those core values.

I saw another phenomenon in the May poll that I’ve seen before. Despite 74% of these same people saying they supported freedom of religion above all else, when the questions got specific about birth control, abortion, etc., support for the primacy of religious freedom dropped to between 51% and 58%.

But it shouldn’t have mattered whether the question was “Does religious freedom trump everything?” or “Does religious freedom trump this, that or the other thing?” Everything should mean everything, right? Except apparently it didn’t for about one-third of the people who said it did.

I see the same disconnect in presidential approval polls. When the question is “Do you approve of the job Obama is doing?”, the numbers are always higher than they are for subordinate issues, like “Do you approve of the job Obama is doing on the economy?” or “the war in Afghanistan?” etc.

The best explanation I can come up with is that people weenie out on reporting their real opinions when there is a hot button issue in the question. The Democrat Media Complex hounds us with certain messages about what it means to be a “good” person. Like, “If you don’t like Barack Obama, you’re a dirty RAAAAACIST!!!” And “If you don’t support birth control, you HATE WOMEN!!!” So the poll questions that include a culturally-charged anxiety trigger get a less honest answer than one that homes in on a core value.

It could be the other way around. I.e., that these people are all for religious freedom as long as it doesn’t interfere with them getting free stuff. I hope not. Freedom of religion is the reason many of us (or our ancestors) left everything familiar to come here. I think we’re more attached to it than the Left realizes.

If I’m right, then the higher number in the straight-up “religious freedom is primary” question is the accurate number while the lower numbers that are attached to culturally-charged anxiety triggers are less accurate. I guess we’ll find out in November when voters are not answering a live pollster … “What will she think of me?!” … but casting secret ballots that will help decide the fate of the nation.

The March poll provides support for my thesis. It asked twice about forcing health insurance plans to provide free birth control, once for just anybody and then again for groups that have moral or religious objections to birth control. Where the question was purely secular, opposition to mandatory free birth control was 51%. But when they mentioned religious or moral objections in the question, opposition increased by 6 points. And notice in the June poll that the HHS mandate issue ALONE has resulted in a 13% to 16% shift toward opposition to Obama!

I think the lesson for us is clear.

When we’re talking with those critical Undecideds who will swing this close race for or against us, we should couch the discussions in terms of CORE values.

“It’s not about birth control. It’s about keeping the government from forcing people to violate their religious beliefs.”

“This is not about race. We elected a black man to our highest office. We’ve proven we aren’t a racist nation anymore. Now we need to ask if he has fixed the economy and gotten people back to work like he said he would.”

One final point … I’m interested in how well our messaging is getting past the alphabet media blockade, so I snooped through the data to see if I could see any signs that there’s been a shift in opinion over the five months these polls tracked. I think there has been and it’s to our side.

Three polls asked variations on the generic question: Should health insurance plans be required to provide free birth control? The February poll showed 43% of Likely Voters opposed, but the March and May polls both showed 51% of Adult Americans opposed. Since Likely Voters generally poll more Center-Right than Adult Americans, the actual shift toward support for religious freedom may have been even higher than 8%. And it’s held up against the Left’s onslaughts.

Thank God for the First Amendment, talk radio, the internet and our church pulpits!

We watched this excellent DVD from Netflix yesterday.

One of the four comedians did a segment on how the Left has redefined acceptable speech to mean anything that they don’t find offensive. He recounts a true story about an elementary Halloween costume party where kids were forbidden to dress as witches, because a local Wiccan had complained that she found the stereotyping offensive. If you can rent this, do it. It’s really funny, but also wise and uplifting.
