The hot mess that is Obama’s foreign policy

2014_09 16 3 of 5 swapped GITMO now with ISIS

2014_09 13 Obama spinning the news

The following list of attendants at Obama’s closed-door, off-the-record, pre-ISIS meeting was leaked to Huffington Post: President Obama, National Security Advisor Susan Rice, Deputy National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes, White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough, plus the dean of the Columbia Journalism School and reporters, columnists and editors from The New York Times (4); The Washington Post (3); The New Yorker (2); The Atlantic (2); The New Republic (1); The Wall Street Journal (1); and The Daily Beast (1).

2014_09 Bush v Obama and media invasion

Rep Mike McCaul (R-TX) says he talked to the Prince of Jordan last week who told him “I’m willing to put my troops into Syria today if your government would ask us to do that.” Apparently, Obama declined, even though he told us that this is precisely what he wanted … Arab nations willing to send THEIR military boots in to fight ISIS.

Sep 13, 2014: Judge Jeanine destroys Obama’s “ISIL is not Islamic” claim [6:30]

Obama pulled our troops out of Iraq despite his own military leaders and the Iraqi leaders saying that was a bad idea. Then he swapped five high value extremist Muslim leaders for one lowly American soldier who very likely deserted his unit. Now he’s dragging his feet, spinning the news and talking out of both sides of his mouth. The boots are not boots. The Islamists are not Islamic. The war is not a war.  Now we learn he is actually turning down the exact kind of help he claims he wants in order to deal with ISIS’ bloody rampage across Iraq and Syria.

The Bible said we should judge people by their fruits. It looks very much to me like Obama’s REAL plan is to HELP the Anti-Christ grow a global, extremist Muslim Caliphate. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if he’s been promised one of the ten kingdoms.

“Don’t do stupid sh*t.”

Remember when VP candidate Sarah Palin was ridiculed for allegedly failing to know what the Bush Doctrine was? Of course, loads of experts had differing opinions about the answer to that question, but logic and facts never seem to get in the way of Lefties trashing Righties.

Nor, it seems, do logic and facts get in the way of the current president’s approach to foreign policy. According to White House aides, Barack himself sums up the Obama Doctrine as, “Don’t do stupid sh*t.”

It’s scary and sad that “the smartest president in the history of humanity” can’t come up with anything more profound than a high school cliché upon which to base his administration’s far-reaching decisions.

Though … come to think of it … a high school cliché mentality does seem to be the best description I’ve heard yet for his whole approach to governing.

Even in his first term, Obama refused to go to more than half of his intelligence briefings … and this during a period when we had troops fighting on three fronts. Now that he isn’t facing a re-election campaign again, ever, he’s got even less incentive to do the job properly.

According to the Ulsterman’s inside-the-White-House source, shortly before the Obamas left for their five-star Martha’s Vineyard vacay, President Obama REFUSED to stand still long enough to listen to an update on the dangerous situations in Syria, Iraq and Gaza.

2014_08 09 OBAMA crises in ME don't mean sht to him

Ulsterman’s source said that Obama’s Deputy National Security Adviser, Tony Blinken, was seen entering Barack Obama’s second-floor study, then following him out and down the hallway, with a Pentagon official in tow.

As the annoyed and petulant president quickened his pace toward the private residence, he was heard telling the two men, “Don’t bother me with this sh*t.”

Words fail me.

Here is a brief report from my Fox News Update email about just one piece of that “sh*t” he can’t be bothered to bother with …

“The U.N. is raising the alarm over “barbaric acts” of sexual violence and “savage rapes” by Islamist militants in northwestern Iraq.

“The U.N. says ISIS has abducted women and children and forced some 1,500 Christians and members of other minority sects into sexual slavery.

“Last month, the U.N. estimated 1.2 million Iraqis have fled their homes in fear for their lives as the Islamists issue ultimatums that they convert to a virulent strain of Islam and adhere to Sharia law or die.

“And it’s not like they’re making it a secret. The members of the Islamist army use social media to publicize their atrocities in order to terrify their subjects and recruit similarly evil-minded men to their cause.”

And here is another from Sky News …

Some 6,000 to 8,000 refugees have managed to escape to a makeshift camp in Dohuk province, but up to 30,000 still remain on Mount Sinjar in what a British aid worker has told Sky news is a “heartbreaking humanitarian crisis.” Sky’s Sherine Tadros is at the Zakho camp, which has no electricity and just three or four toilets.

“They’ve told us harrowing stories,” she said. “One man has just told us how he saw four children die of thirst. There was nowhere to bury them on the mountain so they just put rocks on their bodies.

“Another man was saying the children were so thirsty, their parents started cutting their own hands and giving them blood to drink.

“And then they make the perilous journey to these areas – sometimes 12 hours. And when they get here the conditions are pretty dire. There is no electricity, no aid agencies – this is just a makeshift camp.”

Refugees in the camp – some of whom have gunshot wounds – are surviving on food and water being brought to them by locals. The international community is starting to take action – but the situation is now unprecedented, according to an aid worker on the ground.

“There is still a big humanitarian crisis going on – what I saw was heartbreaking,” British Kurd Taban Shoresh told Sky News. “We need to do something to rescue those people – 30,000 people trapped on a mountain by IS in fear of extermination. There is no way out – the only way to get to them is by helicopter.”

  • August 13, 2014: The United Nations said it considered Iraq in general to be at the highest level of humanitarian crisis and the British prime minister, David Cameron, announced that Britain would play a role in helping.
  • August 14, 2014: The Obama Administration issued a statement saying the situation isn’t all that bad, so we won’t be mounting any rescues. The statement attributed this important decision to “the interagency”, a vague bureaucratic term that apparently means somebody other than President Obama, Defence Secretary Chuck Hagel or the Army’s Central Command chief, General Lloyd Austin.

Once again, may I just express my thanks to Obama voters for inflicting this self-serving, narcissistic, lazy BASTARD not just on us, but on the entire world. And by thanks, I mean … well, you know what I mean.

NEROBAMA: Fiddling while the world burns

2014_06 Poll Obama handling foreign policy

Poll Question 16. Now not thinking about whether you agree or disagree with President Obama’s policies and programs, but thinking about the competence and effectiveness of his administration, how competent would you say the Obama administration is in its role of managing the federal government?

Obama (June 2014 aftermath of invasion of Iraq) vs. Bush (March 2006 aftermath of Hurricane Katrina)

  • Very competent: 11% vs. 14%
  • Somewhat competent: 39% vs. 39%
  • Not too competent: 19% vs. 22%
  • Not competent at all: 31% vs. 24%

Note: When looking at these numbers, factor in the scathingly unfair media coverage Bush suffered through in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina vs. the lapdog slobbering Obama has enjoyed since before his first day as a presidential candidate.

For example, the media repeatedly pushed the “Bush doesn’t care” meme by reprinting the photo of him looking at the devastation from high above in Air Force One.

They also screamed about how he went to his ranch for two days, which no “compassionate president” would do.  How much have you ever heard about the fact that while Iraq burned, Obama went fund-raising and golfing in Palm Springs? Or that he played cards with his peeps during the bin Laden raid? Or that NOBODY KNOWS where he was or what he was doing while the embassy in Benghazi was under armed assault?

After Katrina, the media harped on the fact that Bush didn’t make his first ground visit until two days after the hurricane hit, as if this was a sign that he didn’t care, rather than what it really was – a sign that (a) POTUS doesn’t go places until the Secret Service ensures it is safe and (b) a visit by POTUS is disruptive to humanitarian and rescue operations. Overall, Bush made more than half a dozen on-the-ground visits … while the media continued to reprint the AF1 photo.

After Katrina, the media also harped on the pathetic response by national government, which was always “BOOSH’s fault!”, ignoring the fact that (a) disaster relief is a state function and that (b) the then-Democrat government in Louisiana and New Orleans were the truly incompetent and obstructive factors in delaying relief.

Now … given all that … isn’t it EXTRAORDINARY that Obama’s “competence” numbers are now WORSE?!

Hashtag diplomacy

WEEKS after a Nigerian activist launched the #BringBackOurGirls campaign that helped get journalists interested in the terrorist kidnapping of 276 Nigerian schoolgirls, FLOTUS used her massive personal influence to further the cause of rescuing the girls before their savage kidnappers sell them into slavery.

She sent a tweet.

2014_05 07 Michelle hashtagBringBackOurGirls

Via Twitchy:

  • Your husband is President and a hashtag on twitter is the best you can do?!?
  • Changing the world. Failure.
  • Yeah, that hashtag is literally the least you can do.
  • There’s something peculiarly end of civilization about the First Lady’s tweet.
  • Surely a hashtag will tug at Boko Haram’s heartstrings, right?
  • Especially when it’s got a real serious looking FLOTUS selfie HOLDING a hand written sign!
  • Hashtag Foreign Policy. Take it to Twitter. That will show ’em.
  • Michelle’s tweet further proves that action is not as important as “feeling” for the left.
  • Modern liberalism, at its core, is an ideology of talking, not doing.
  • Yup. Someone “calls on government” to do something and the world gets fixed. It’s that easy!
  • Hashtag activism may be the the ultimate example of completely pointless self-satisfaction.
  • They don’t *actually* care. They do it to inflate themselves. It is the emptiest of empty gestures.

Hillary Clinton … whose husband refused to go after Osama bin Laden … weighed in with her own self-aggrandizing and nonsensical tweet that suggested somewhere in the world there exists a conscionable reason to target innocent girls.

2014_05 04 Hillary Clinton tweet bringbackourgirls

Please note Clinton’s tweet was THREE DAYS before Mooch got around to hers. But then, Mooch included a selfie and a hand-written sign, so undoubtedly took  lots more time and thought. Or something.

Via Mark Steyn:

“Just as the last floppo hashtag, #WeStandWithUkraine, didn’t actually involve standing with Ukraine, so #BringBackOurGirls doesn’t require bringing back our girls. There are only a half-dozen special forces around the planet capable of doing that without getting most or all of the hostages killed: the British, the French, the Americans, Israelis, Germans, Aussies, maybe a couple of others. So, unless something of that nature is being lined up, those schoolgirls are headed into slavery, and the wretched pleading passivity of Mrs Obama’s hashtag is just a form of moral preening.”

Last October, Steyn reported another Boko Haram atrocity:

“The other day, members of Boko Haram, a group of (surprise!) Muslim ‘extremists’, broke into an agricultural college in Nigeria and killed some four dozen students. The dead were themselves mainly Muslim, but had made the fatal mistake of attending a non-Islamic school. ‘Boko Haram’ means more or less ‘Learning is sinful.'”

2014_05 13 Working hashtag foreign policy

Yeah. Cuz you know what terrorists respond to? Smoking holes where their buddies used to be. Not hashtags.

Obama’s disastrous foreign policy

2014 BHO Shrink the military

“We’ve seen a record number of retirements from the Navy SEALs. This is something the media is ignoring, but it’s an important story because the SEALs, like our other special forces, are the tip of the spear. They’re the people who are actually out there killing and capturing terrorists. Without them, we lose the war on terror.” Richard Miniter, retired SEAL and co-author of Eyes on Target: Inside Stories from the Brotherhood of the U.S. Navy SEALs

About that Syria thing

According to Twitter, the First Nobel Peace Prize winner is kicking the tires on a 3rd war.

Oh that’s reassuring as hell to this military mom. NOT.

Big phew that someone of the monumental stature of Jose Canseco is giving policy advice to his bff Barack. My guess … Barack actually reads Twitter. We know he doesn’t read his intelligence reports or attend intelligence briefings. So yeah … Canseco probably has the Presidential Ear … or should I say Blackberry. Can you read tweets on a Blackberry?

  • Tweet – Oh good, I was worried @JoseCanseco would have no interest in foreign policy.
  • Tweet – Yeah. And they’re so like coherent or something.

2013_06 13 Jose Canseco advises POTUS

  • Tweet – Yeah…President of the United States…take foreign police advice from Jose Canseco. Best. Idea. Ever.
  • Tweet – Hope POTUS waits until the more level-headed Dennis Rodman has had a chance to weigh in.

I admit. I had to google José Canseco. He’s a Cuban-American former Major League Baseball guy. Well, golly. He’s an athlete and COOBAN and hyphenated. Clearly, he totally knows all about important foreign policy stuff. He also appears to either have Multiple Personality Disorder or somebody else who trades off using his Twitter account. Did you notice how the “hey buddy” tweets are violent while the “Mr. President” tweets are conciliatory? Weird!

Iowahawk thinks we should send Syrian rebels pistol-shaped Pop Tarts.

Yeah, that’ll work. It’ll be a lot cheaper than what we’re sending them now! Plus we know how über scary anything that is kinda sorta shaped like a gun is … bubble-making toys … finger spelling signs for the letters G and H … the state of Idaho.

We’re buying guns for America haters?

Pin the brain on the moron

Sometime in late January, as part of a 213 million dollar foreign aid package, the U.S. government intends to deliver 10 F-16 fighter jets and 200 Abrams tanks to Egypt.

In 2010, the current President of Egypt, Mohamed Morsi, publicly labeled the United States an “enemy” and called for driving Israel from Arab land. Open Doors says of Egypt:

The Muslim Brotherhood won parliamentary elections in November 2011 and a new Islamist-backed constitution was signed into law in December 2012. Support for both the Muslim Brotherhood and Salafi Islam is growing and persecution of Christians is on the rise.

Meanwhile, Obama Democrats are trying to disarm Americans any way they can.
