Title was completely plagiarized, stolen and ripped off from my FB friend, Clarice Feldman, one of my favorite writers from American Thinker (Clarice’s Pieces). Every so often I have an original thought. This is not one of those times.
It is hard to imagine feeling better than I do right now. We had a beautiful dinner with the family Sunday. I gave RJ one of my fishing rods and taught him how to tie the Fisherman’s Knot properly. It was in the 60’s and sunny so we went into the back yard and made the kind of memories that can’t be bought. We spent some quality time practicing our casting skills. He only got the plug stuck in the branches of a tree once. My beloved Chicago Cubs won their first game of the season last night and Chrissy is back to her old self. Now everybody can remember how bad my posts really suck.
Today is primary day in Wisconsin. There is still talk about a contested convention, which would, in essence, sound the death knell of what was once a major political party. People are dying like flies here in Chicago and the teacher’s union went on a one-day strike. The Barry and Kerry Show (just made that up. see? I DO have an original thought once in awhile) is still beclowning itself on the world stage. Trouble is they have their heads shoved so far up their anal orifices that don’t realize it. There’s no chance things will ever change much..
THIS WOULD BE HUMOROUS IF IT WEREN’T THE PREVAILING ATTITUDE AMONGST THE PROFESSIONAL VICTIM CLASS
Chrissy’s back. My kids and grandkids are coming for dinner tomorrow after church. Didn’t even check the latest political nonsense. Just want to give thanks for all God has given me.
The last time she posted was Jan. 31; since then she’s faced trials most of us will never know. She has been lifted up in our thoughts and prayers and, sure enough, God gave her the strength to come back here to us. It’s a chore trying to do these posts every day. Some days there isn’t much interesting or it just doesn’t seem work right. Comparing CtH’s post to mine are like comparing a Rembrandt to an Elvis painting on black velvet. She’s still weak, but at least she’s getting well and, hopefully, she’ll be back doing her thing very soon.
NOTE: NO ANIMALS WERE HARMED IN THE PRODUCTION OF THIS POST
There’s a talk radio show overnight out of Dallas called Redeye Radio.I listen to it when I’m delivering papers.invariably,Trump supporters call every night and it seems they all sound the same.
Trump wants to build a wall
Trump will negotiate to bring American jobs home
Trump admitted he would threaten tariffs but would never implement them, showing china he’s only bluffing
at least Trump is doing something, anything
It just seems like we heard this from one H. Ross Perot in 1992.He seemed to articulate the concerns of conservatives without ever offering any solutions, just like The Donald.
The Trumpsters seem as devoted to his personality as the progs were who exalted Emperor Obama, without any reasoned thought.
A former Trump spokesman claimed that Trump only decided to run for president on a lark.He never expected it to go this far.Evidently, neither did the GOP elites. Now he’s stuck and just winging it to sate his own overblown ego.One example was the way he stepped on his own weiner when discussing abortion, something sacrosanct to liberals.
Trump: If abortion is banned there has to be “some form of punishment” for women
Trump did an interview with Chris Matthews today where the topic of banning abortion came up. Trump was pressed on whether a woman who has an illegal abortion should be punished:
At a taping of an MSNBC town hall to be aired later, host Chris Matthews pressed Trump on his anti-abortion position, repeatedly asking him, “Should abortion be punished? This is not something you can dodge.”
“Look, people in certain parts of the Republican Party, conservative Republicans, would say, ‘Yes, it should,’” Trump answered.
“How about you?” Matthews asked.
“I would say it’s a very serious problem and it’s a problem we have to decide on. Are you going to send them to jail?” Trump said.
“I’m asking you,” Matthews said.
“I am pro-life,” Trump said. Asked how a ban would actually work, Trump said, “Well, you go back to a position like they had where they would perhaps go to illegal places but we have to ban it,” Trump said.
Matthews then pressed Trump on whether he believes there should be punishment for abortion if it were illegal.
“There has to be some form of punishment,” Trump said. “For the woman?” Matthews asked. “Yeah,” Trump said, nodding.
Trump said the punishment would “have to be determined.”
Within hours he was forced to walk back his comments and change his stance to doctors who provide abortions should be punished.
Donald Trump: Doctors Performing Illegal Abortions Should be ‘Held Legally Responsible, Not the Woman’
GOP frontrunner Donald Trump issued a press release regarding abortion on Wednesday afternoon.
Trump stated in a campaign press release:
If Congress were to pass legislation making abortion illegal and the federal courts upheld this legislation, or any state were permitted to ban abortion under state and federal law, the doctor or any other person performing this illegal act upon a woman would be held legally responsible, not the woman,” Trump stated in a campaign press release. “The woman is a victim in this case as is the life in her womb. My position has not changed — like Ronald Reagan, I am pro-life with exceptions.
I DON’T RECALL REAGAN EVER EQUIVOCATING HIS STANCE ON ABORTION
This election cycle has become the perfect storm of a showman tapping into the anger and frustration of the half of a country who has been screwed over by democrats and sold out by their own elected officials.
Hillary Clinton became the 2016 nominee the day the 2008 position was taken from her in favor of the chocolate flavor of the day.Obama made her SOS so she could fatten their coffers with thinly-veiled “donations” from countries having business before her at State and half-million dollar speaking fees former president Bent Penis,a convicted liar.
I had rather hoped we could run a true conservative at least one time before the liberals become a permanent majority. With the constant infighting,name-calling,muckraking and obsession with fracturing the party it seems the hope has been for naught.
I THINK A LIGHT POST FOR TOMORROW WILL BE IN ORDER
Just a little release from the insanity that we’re faced with on a daily basis.During this holy season, please keep our friend,Chrissy in your prayers, along with the men and women who can’t be home to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord.
Thanks to Grunt for his post. I tried to edit it to add some images but the format doesn’t have the IMG tag, so it takes somebody smarter than me to do it. The good, in this case, is that Miss Isabel and Miss Olivia are here for the day. DW is fixing them breakfast and we have a nice lunch planned. The family are going to be scattered for Easter but the following Sunday they’re all coming here for dinner and some together time. At this point in life, family is all that matters and all I have to live for.
The bad is, well, pretty much everything else. Bozo showing his utter contempt for anything but his own good time. The republicans are trying to hand the presidency to one of the most loathesome creatures on the planet and society, in general, has gone completely to hell.
The really, really stupid…. well….. you’ll have to look. There is one youtube of a typical liberal calling someone to complain about the inconvenient deer crossing signs, like the guy put them there strictly to be a bother to her. This post is brought to you with reverence for the day, seasoned with my trademark sarcasm.
Watching our once-great nation swirling the drain of history day after day is really depressing, knowing there is little to nothing we can do about it. As a means of maintaining mental health we must focus on the positive things we still have control of. Watching Miss Olivia’s swim meets; fishing with R.J.; cheering Big Sis’ fast-pitch softball team; just taking my wife to lunch. Being aware of what’s going on around you is a good thing. Being immolated in the depravity and sinfulness is not. Every day we need to focus on what makes us happy. I guess, for me, it’s having the ability to make people laugh. Been doing it all my life. Sometimes it seems like my only redeeming quality. At least I have one.
Another week behind us. A day closer to the election that will finally doom America. More importantly, a day closer to the opening of the professional baseball season. Of utmost importance, a day closer to the most significant non-game day in sports…the NFL draft. The rest is all just noise.
